Today was the day, I was starting my job at Blake's dads office. Had my hair put up in a ponytail and a work suit on. I was staring at myself in the mirror and I just stared. I still didn't know what I was doing, but I guess I'll find out today. Blake knocked against the bathroom door, "Are you okay?" "Uh, yeah!" I opened the door to see Blake staring at me. "You look beautiful." He said as he leaned in to kiss me. "Thank you." I smiled. "Are you ready to go?" He asked. "Yup. I just need to grab my phone and purse." "Oh, I put that by the front door, your car is ready." He said. "Okay perfect!" We walked toward the front door, I grabbed my bag and phone and walked towards the elevator. "You're gonna be fine." He said as I walked in the elevator. "I'm nervous. What if he doesn't like me? What if I don't do a good job? I still don't know what I'm doing." I said. "Babe, you are gonna do great, my father is difficult to get along with don't take it too personally. And you will figure everything out once you get there." We left the building and I saw the car waiting for me, the driver opened the door and I walked towards the car but stopped when I noticed Blake had stopped walking. "Did you forget something?" I asked. "No." He said as he stood there with his hands in his pockets. "Well aren't you coming?" I asked. "No." "What?! You have to come! I can't do this Blake!" I started freaking out. "Hey, you got this. Get in the car and breathe, just sit there and relax. His office is on the 37th floor. You are going to be alright." He walked to me and kissed me then proceeded to walk me to the car. "I love you." I said. "Love you too, now go! Have a good day at work!" I sat in the car and the door closed behind me. I stared at Blake through the window as the driver drove me towards my destination.

I couldn't do this. This is insane. I mean what am I doing? I could be wearing the wrong clothes for all I know! I might be building a house or be a fisherman! I don't know what is going on! I'm scared, this doesn't seem right. I don't wanna go and do this, but at the same time I have a job. I, an eighteen year old, have a job. I don't know what it is but I have a job! I are confidence but once the car stopped at the building the butterflies came back. The driver opened the car and held a hand out for me to grab. I took the offer and he helped me out the car. "Have a good day Mrs. Henry." "Oh, I'm not- Whatever. Thank you." I walked away puzzled and entered the massive building. It looked official, there were people with suits and briefcases and stuff. I look somewhat involved. I walked to the elevator and entered with a large crowd of people.

Well, here I was, the 37th floor. I stepped out and looked around at the office setting. There was a large round table where the receptionist sat, some chairs organized around the waiting area, and two glass doors, one on one side of the reception desk and one on the other side. I walked up to the reception desk, "Hello, I'm Lexie Johnson, I'm here to see Mr.He-" she interrupted me and stood up, "Good, you're here!" She was cheery and peppy, "Let's go!" I followed her through one of the glass doors and I noticed the work area. There were cubicles, large offices, meeting rooms, and other rooms that looked official. "I am so glad you are here! We need another young girl here, how old are you again? Twenty two, twenty four?" she asked. "Eighteen." I answered. "Oh. Well, okay." Well this got awkward. The short walk to our destination seemed like an eternity. "Here we are. This is Mr. Henry's office, feel free to sit here, he should be here soon." She led me to a couch, "Thank you." I said. She smiled and walked out of the room.

I sat down on the brown, leather couch as I noticed his office. It was one of those typical, old man offices. It was brown and vintage like. I felt as if everything had history behind it. Then it hit me, I was meeting Blake's dad. Blake's dad was about to walk in here any minute and I was going to meet him. I didn't know what to say or do, I just realized this was happening like right now, and to be honest I figured Blake was gonna be with me through all of this. I took a deep breath and leaned against the couch and started playing with the hem of my skirt. Soon he walked in. He was tall and looked like the older version of Blake. "You must be Lexie!" He waked towards me with a smile on is face. "I must! It's nice to meet you Mr. Henry." I extended my hand to shake his hand which was strong and firm. I'm pretty sure I broke a couple of bones. Whatever.

He walked towards a bar cart and poured something into a glass, "Would you like a drink?" he offered. "I'm eighteen." I said. "I didn't ask for you age. Did you want something to drink?" He asked again. "I'm too young to have a drink." I stated. "Water doesn't have an age requirement." he said as he sat on the couch across from me. "Oh, you're right." I blushed. "Yes please." I nodded. "Sparkling, tap, bottled, fruit infused?" He asked. "I didn't think there were so many options. Bottled is fine." I answered. "Voss, Smart Water, Evian, or Fiji?" "Uh... just whatever you prefer." I said. He turned his attention to a lady standing by the door with a writing pad in her arms, "Get her a Voss." she nodded and left the room. His attention averted back towards me. "So, let's get started." He said. "Okay." I placed my hands on my lap and watched as he adjusted his jacket. "What are your specialties?" he asked. I froze, I didn't think this was an interview. "Well in what aspect?" I asked. "In the business world. Can you negotiate? Make deals? Do you understand how business works?" "Not, exactly. To be honest sir I don't even know what you do." He just stared at me, appalled. I gulped as I felt his eyes pierce into my soul. I think I died a little. seriously his eyes just killed a part of me. "I'm an International Insurance Consultant." "That sounds wonderful." I said. The lady walked in and placed a water in front of me and I thanked her, and I hoped she got my message which was also a cry for help. She didn't. "I can type." I said to break the silence. "Excuse me?" He asked. "I can type on the computer. If you need me to type for you I can." I sounded really stupid. "Are you mocking me?" he asked with a raised tone. "Uh no sir! I was just saying that if you-" "What, because I"m older than you, you think I can't type? I created a multibillion dollar company from scratch and you have the audacity to suggest that I can't type!" He stared at me with an intense look. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean that you can't type. I was just saying that it's a skill I have. Maybe you get tired or something and you want me to type up a paper for you." I quickly blurted out. "You are going to come in every day at eight o'clock and you are not to leave until I am done with work. If that means I come in for five minutes you stay until those five minutes are over. If you don't leave until two in the morning you don't leave until two in the morning. You are to follow me around, take notes for me, answer my calls while I'm in meetings, what I ask, you must do. Do you understand?" he asked me. "Yes sir." I nodded. "Good." He looked over to the girl standing by the door. "You're fired." She looked defeated as I gasped. She stood there staring at me with sadness in her eyes, then back to Mr. Henry who didn't care at all about how she felt. He just waited for her to leave the room and once she did he stood up and walked towards his desk.

Well this was going to be exciting. I sighed and I stood up and followed him.
