"I'm sorry." I whispered. We had been sitting in silence for a while now, I felt bad for the way my mother treated Blake, and I felt bad that Blake was so hurt by her words. I honestly have never seen her act that way, and it hurt me to see the two people I loved he most couldn't have a good relationship."It's not your fault. Unless you told her to say those things." He said. "I know, I'm just sorry you had to go through that. I swear she has never done that before. I don't know what caused her to do that or speak that way." "I guess I bring out the worse in people." "What no! No no no no. That is not true! Look at me, you brought a different side to me, I would've never left my family to find myself. You are an amazing person and I don't want you to let my moms accusations about you take over your life." "She's right." He whispered. "Blake." I whispered in a disapproving tone. "I use him for money. All of this stuff you've received is because of him. He payed for everything. He continues to pay for everything and I let him. I'm using him." "Blake, you know that this is how you two communicate. Him giving you the things you need or want is his way of saying he loves you. You know how hard and difficult your dad is. The things give you is another way to say that he loves you. Your dad loves you so much he just doesn't know how to say it." I said. He just sat there taking in my words. "I guess." "Let's go back home and go to bed. Tomorrow is another day, we can go out or stay in, do whatever you wanna do." He looked down at me and smiled. "Okay." We both stood up and walked across the street to our apartment.
I woke up around nine and I just laid there and listened to the sound of Blake breathing. It was calming and peaceful and it brought a smile to my face. I stared at him and watched as his eyes fluttered open, I received a smile from him and moved closer to kiss his forehead. "Morning." I whispered. "Good morning love." He whispered back. I smiled at him and he smiled back and we just laid there staring at each other.
Eventually we had gotten out of bed, eaten some breakfast and now we were on the couch watching TV. "Have you spoken to your mom?" he asked. "Nope." I coldly responded. "I don't want you two fighting over me." He said. "Well we are. What she did was wrong. She should've never thought of you as some rich spoiled kid. I don't understand what's wrong with her." I said. "She misses you." He said. I looked over at him and could tell he was serious. "She just offended you and you're some what defending her. Why?" I asked. "I don't know, I guess I understand why she's so upset with me. It's like I took you away. I lured you in with my charm and good looks." He flirtatiously said. I just rolled my eyes. "But honestly, if you think of it this way, say you have a daughter and she all of a sudden runs away with a guy because she fell in love with him. You would probably think he's a bad influence on her." He said. "I mean I guess, that just don't mean she treats you so negatively." I said. "Yeah I guess. You should just try calling her or something. " He suggested. "And do what? Apologize? I am not gonna apologize for anything. I told her everything that should've been said. She hurt you and I hate seeing you hurt like that. I want you to know that I am on your side one hundred percent." I said. "I get that babe. I just don't wanna ruin the relationship you have with your mom." He said. I just sat there and thought about what he said. I mean I guess he was right, her approach was wrong but I get that she misses me. "I'm gonna go call her right now." I said as I stood up. I grabbed my phone and headed to the patio and called her.
"Hello?" I heard my mom say. "Hey. Did you make it home alright?" i asked. "Uh, sort of." She said. "What do you mean sort of?" "I'm not at home. I'm still here in New York, I didn't wanna drive too late last night." She responded. "Oh." "Why did you call?" she asked. "Blake and I talked and he talked some sense into me basically. I wanted to let you know that I understand why you freakout on him last night." "Okay..." It was awkward between us. "Did you wanna come over?" I asked. She got excited and said, "Yeah! I'll be right there!" "Okay." I said as she hung up. I went back inside and Blake's attention turned towards me, "How did it go?" He asked. "She's coming over." I stated. "From Red Pine?" He asked. "No, she get a hotel last night." I said. "Oh." I sat on the couch next to him and we snuggled until my mom came over.
