I bought a one way ticket to Red Pine and I wouldn't get there until 1 in the morning but I didn't care. Blake really pissed me off. I can't believe he had the audacity to tell me not to go see my own mother. I honestly didn't want to think about him so I closed my eyes and went to sleep.
I woke up just as the plane was landing. Once it landed I quickly left the plane and want to grab my bags. I called a taxi and now I am standing outside of the house. It felt different, it looked lived in. I walked to the door and rang the doorbell. I didn't know if anyone was awake or not, my parents usually go to sleep early so I probably won't have anyone answer the door. I rang the doorbell once more and knocked on the door. The door opened and my mom was standing there in her robe. "Lexie!!!" She beamed at the sight of me and she hugged me tightly. "I didn't think you would be here so soon! Are you okay? Why are you here so soon? Did he hurt you?" She asked. "No, not physically." I stated as I walked in the house. "What do you mean? What did he do?" We walked towards the couch and we plopped down next to each other. "I don't know. It's stupid." I said as I ran my fingers through my hair. "Well what happened?" she asked. "He just threw a fit when I said I was coming home for the weekend. He doesn't want me to be here." I stated. "I don't like him." she stated. "Mom, come on. You don't know him." "I know enough." she said. "Yeah but that's just a small amount of information. You don't know how much he loves me and cares about me." I said. "I think you are way too young to be in love." she stated. "I don't wanna talk about this. I'm going to bed." I stood up and leaned down to kiss her cheek. "Good night." I said as I made my way upstairs.
I woke up around 9 to the smell of bacon and pancakes. I slowly walked out of my room and down the stairs towards the kitchen. "Morning. Honey! Did you sleep okay?" my mom asked. "Yeah. I slept fine." "LEXIE!!!!" My little sisters laid eyes on me and excitement shown on their face. "Hey girls! I bent town to hug them as the ran towards me. They held on for what seemed like eternity but I was fine with that. I didn't realize how much I missed them until now. "Okay girls, come sit down for breakfast." My mom said. We all walked towards the table and sat down. "Mom this looks so good." I stated as my mouth watered. "Thanks honey."
After breakfast my mom decided that we should go out in the town, "Okay ready?" She asked. "Yeah, but hey. Where's dad?" I asked. "Oh uh, at work. He's away on business." She turned around and left the house. I followed my mom into the car and we drove down to the town square. We walked around a bit, shopped, one to the park for the girls to play. We decided we were hungry so we were gonna go to the restaurant near the park so that we could watch the girls.
We were seated right away and instantly my mom started asking questions. "So how's LA?" She asked. "It's really good. I absolutely love it there." I said with a smile. "And who is this guy?" She questioned. "Mom I told you about him. His name is Blake, he lived in Red Pine we both didn't wanna be here so we ran away." "I still can't believe you would do that." She said disapprovingly. "Mom, we talked about this." "I know, I know, I know. I just never imagined you to just run away like that. You just left and went straight to LA." "Well... I didn't exactly go straight to LA." I said. "What do you mean?" I smiled and told her about our road trip.
"Wow! I can't believe you went to all those places! That is absolutely amazing, a little insane, but amazing!" She gushed and I laughed. "I have to admit though, even though you running of with a guy is definitely something I don't approve of, I am really happy you are happy." she stated. The wee smile fell from my face and I looked down at my latte. "Wait, you're happy right?" She asked. "Well, yeah." "But..." She looked at me to search for an answer. "But I just feel like what we are doing is useless. We don't do much other than go out and spend money. We don't have jobs, we live in a hotel, and it's the same thing all day. We get up eat and do something. I want something more realistic. I do love him, I just want more, but nothing too extravagant. I want a real life." I stated. "Does he know that?" She asked. "No, i don't know how to tell him that. I feel as if I say something he's gonna feel offended." I said. "Honey you need to tell him something. Otherwise you are gonna live this unhappy life for ever." She stated. "Yeah but what am I supposed to say? I love this expensive hotel but I don't wanna live here anymore." "I think you need to be honest with him. Is the guy that you want to spend the rest of your life with?" She looked at me with serious yet soft eyes. "I don't know. I think so. How am I supposed to know?" I asked. "You just have that special feeling." She stated with a smile. "We both want different lives. I want four kids he wants one, he wants to live in some posh penthouse in New York and I want a family home. He's content with living at this hotel forever and I want something different." I stated. "You can make it work if you truly love each other. Don't let this little situation ruin everything. If you guys truly loved each other you would work it out. You guys would just have to talk it through." "I'm just scared mom. What am I doing? Like is this all okay?" I asked. "Honestly it's crazy. I don't think any of this is right. I want you home with me. I want you going to college and getting a good education. I want you to meet someone later on and fall in love. Like really fall in love. I want you to go get a job, have a family and have that perfect house you want. But if Blake is the guy you truly love then fine. Go and do whatever it is you two are doing. But you need to communicate, if you have a problem with where you are at then let him know that." I just stared into the distance and thought about what I was going to do or say when I saw Blake. "When are you going back?" she asked. "I don't know. Tomorrow I guess. I really wanna go talk to him and see what I should do." I stated. "Okay, well let me know if you need any help." She said. "Alright." I smiled at her and took a sip of my coffee.
