Logan Greenwood
Somehow, Logan managed to fall asleep in the back of the police car. When it halted outside of the police station, he hit his head on the back window. He cursed loudly. Logan took in his surroundings through the rain spattered window.
"Please remain in the car until an officer comes to retrieve you." The policeman who drove Logan here looked into the mirror at him.
He felt the sleepiness leave him immediately as he stared at the tall building labeled Police Station. Logan backed up against the seat of the car, refusing to get out.
An officer opened the door and grabbed Logan by the shoulders.
"No. Please don't make me go in there!" Logan cried. He kicked at the man. The officer managed to pull the distraught teenager out of the car.
Officers held their guns out and led Logan in handcuffs to a small room labeled Interrogation. Logan took in the small room and breathed in the cold air. Inside, a detective and another officer sat while someone guarded the door. Logan had seen these things in movies. He knew he was being recorded and watched by other people who weren't in the room. He noticed the camera on the upper wall.
"Sit down." The detective ordered. Logan cooperated; he didn't really have a choice.
"My name is Detective Grey. All we're going to do is ask you a few questions about Marcus Graham and his murder."
"Okay." Replied Logan with a shaky voice. It was hard to remove the scene from his mind.
"Where were at about nine o' clock this evening?" Detective Grey began.
"In my room. My best friend got into a car crash and I don't know if he's okay." Logan answered. The officer scribbled a few things on a notepad. In all the commotion, he'd nearly forgotten about Darwin. A stab of hurt punctured his heart.
"Okay. When was the last time you saw Marcus Graham alive?"
"This afternoon. After school, I went to his house."
"What did you do there."
"I borrowed some medicine. Just ADHD and anxiety medication."
"Alright." He scratched things on his notepad. "Did you and Marcus fight at all that afternoon?"
"No sir."
"Did you kill Marcus Graham?"
"No sir." Logan kept eye-contact with the detective. "I found him dead."
"How so?"
"I left my house at around 9:30 at night. I wanted to talk to him about Darwin- my friend who got in the wreck. I ran to his house, since he doesn't live that far away, but I couldn't see him there. The tv was on. I saw an open window and climbed in because he wouldn't answer the door.
"I went into his bedroom to try and look for him. Instead, I found him in his bathtub. He was naked and his chest was bloody. I tried to see if he was still alive by shaking him, but he didn't respond. I called his name too, but he didn't respond to that either." Logan realized how unconvincing it sounded; to the authorities, it sounded like a lie.
