After storming out of the house I found myself in a library a couple blocks down. I was sitting at one of the tables between a couple book shelfs.
I know if Archie or anyone else in the house were to try and find me they'd never check here. Those dumbasseś are scared shitleśs of the library. I don't know why, they just are.
I was soon tired of just sitting here so I got up and skimmed the book shelfs. I didn't know a library could have this many books, it's like a nerds paradise.
I ended picking out a book before walking back to my seat only to stop and stare at the girl who was sitting at the seat across from mine.
She didn't notice me until I sat back down. She looked up from her phone and smiled at me. Then I immediately recognized who it was. Rowan.
She didn't say anything and just stared at me.
"How did you find me?" I asked her.
She shrugged. "I saw you walk in here while I was organizing the shelfs and decided you needed company."
I nodded. "Thanks."
"No problem, but I actually got a question."
"What is it?"
"Why does Sailor always glare at me when I'm around you?"
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "I was going to ask you that."
She had a surprised look on her face. "I thought you would've known."
I shook my head. "She just told me she doesn't like you."
"Huh..." she looked confused.
I felt my phone vibrate. I fished it out of my pocket only to see Marina's name flashing. I rolled my eyes and looked at Rowan. "One second."
"Hello?" I answered the phone.
"Where are you? Archie said you stormed off when she asked you how your day was. You know if you want to live with us then you-" I cut her off.
"That's bullshit. I told Haven that if she still wanted to date Archie then she shouldn't of cheated on her. Then next thing I know Archie is yelling at me and acting like a bïtch." I explained in one breath. After I was done I was breathing hard.
Marina didn't say anything for a moment. "Haven was dating Archie?"
"Yes. But she was cheating on her so I helped her break up with her. Now she's acting like I ruined her life."
Marina mumbled something I couldn't here before speaking to me again. "Can you come home?"
I sighed. "I guess. I'll be there soon." I hung up and turned to Rowan.
She had the most confused laugh I've ever seen. I shook my head. "Roommate drama."
She nodded, still not understanding what was going on. "If you ever need a place to say just tell me. I have a three room apartment if you need some where else to live."
I smiled. "Thank you. I'll tell you if I'm ever interested in it."
She nodded. "Can I have your number?"
"Yeah, hold on." I quickly pulled out a pen and a piece of paper and scribbled it onto it.
I handed it to her and put my pen away. She looked at it before stuffing it into her pocket.
"I actually gotta go home." I told her.
"Do you want me to walk you?" She asked me.
I shrugged and picked up my bag. "If you want to."
She nodded and grabbed our books. "I'll put these back real quick if you meet me at the doors. "
"I will."
She smiled at me and stalked off. I shoved my things in my bag and slung it over my shoulder. I walked to the doors and waited for Rowan.
A few minutes later she walks up to me and nods. I push the door open for her and walked out after her.
We walked down the concrete steps and down the sidewalk. It was still day but the sun was starting to set and the moon was starting to come out.
We walked in a comfortable silence. Occasionally our fingers would brush up against each other's. Each time it would happen I felt my self blush. I tried to avoid looking at Rowan so she wouldn't see.
Once again our fingers brushed against each other's. Instead of Rowan pulling away like she normally did she intertwined hers with mine.
I glanced at her to see her cheeks were also tinted pink. I tightened my grip causing her to glance at me. She caught my gaze and gave me a small smile.
I smiled back and looked ahead of us. My apartment building wasn't far ahead of us.
"Is that it?" She asked.
"Yes."
When we were only a few feet from the doors she pulled me to the side and hugged me. I was shocked but hugged her back anyway.
She pulled away and kissed me on the cheek. "See you tomorrow." She murmured before walking away.
I was blushing harder than earlier. My cheeks felt like they were on fire and continued to feel like it until I got up to the apartment and opened the door.
