                                                              Tanner's POV

"So, what exactly are we even supposed to be looking out for?" William asked as we walked around, keeping an ear out for anything.

"Something? Someone? I'm not sure. Jade is freaking out though. She thinks someone cut open the fence." I looked over to the back of said fence.

"It's possible. Or maybe Jade's power is going to her head." William shrugged. I looked at the Front Gate. I turned to the side, to look at the CMC.

"I doubt it. Because she seemed pretty worried, even under that badass mask she wears. You can tell she's not ready for a war, or the chance of losing any of us." I saw something at the Front Gate, out of the corner of my eye.

"Did you see that?" William whispered to me.

"I was just about to ask you that." I started to slowly walk towards the Front Gate. I heard William step with me. I turned to look at him.

"What?" He whispered.

"Stay back here. Just in case it's supposed to be a distraction. It could be nothing, but just in case," I turned and started to slowly walk towards the Front Gate. I walked along the West side of the fence, walking behind Jade's house. When I turned the corner, I saw two people standing off in the road. I leaned against the back of Jade's house, hiding. I breathed in deeply, "Fuck..." I started to sprint off towards William. He was facing the Back Gate, "William!" I yelled in a hush whisper. He turned to me.

"What?" He whispered back.

"There's people out there. We need to wake up Lamar and Khalil." William's facial expression immediately fell into a worry.

"Let's go," He said, walking off towards their house. I turned my back on him, making sure to keep an eye on the Front Gate. I could see them. Barely. They were right outside the line of moonlight, but their silhouettes were there. And they weren't walkers. They were too still to be. I heard William knock on the door, then I heard it open, "Yeah, we got a problem. Tanner says there's people out at the Front Gate." William said, in a very hushed voice. I glance over to see Lamar and Khalil walking towards Storage. William walked up beside me.

"So?" I asked, nervous.

"They want us to get in teams. Me and Khalil. You and Lamar. We're staying back here, you both are going to the front." He answered. I sighed as Lamar and Khalil walked up.

"Tanner, you're with me." Lamar said as he gestured for me to follow him. Khalil nodded at me, as he and William started to walk over to the Back Gate. Lamar was very stealthy. No wonder he was one of the main guys around here. He turned back at me and did a few hand signals.

"I have no idea what that means." I said to him. He shushed me.

"Follow my lead." He whispered. I did as he said and followed him. We took the way I did earlier. When we got behind Jade's house, he peeked around.

"What do you see?" I asked.

"Seems like two males, with the way they're standing. Oh shit," He leaned back with me and leaned against the wall and held his finger to his lips, "They're walking to the gate."

"Knock knock!" We heard a male's voice then banging on the gate. I jumped up, on purely adrenaline, and ran to the gate.

"What the fuck do you guys want?" I yelled as I pointed my gun at them. Lamar walked up behind me. I saw a dark haired, tall guy. He was facing us. But, the other one was turned away.

"Holy shit..." Lamar sighed. A blonde guy, with his hair in a bun, turned and smiled.

"I want to talk to the leader." He smirked.
