I kissed Alek then jumped onto my horse.
"Be safe, please." He begged.
"Always am." I smiled. I rode off towards the community.
I finally arrived and opened the Gate as quietly as I could, then put the horse up. I glanced down at my watch. 2:38am. Not bad. I grabbed Edge off the saddle and made my way to my house. I opened my door and walked in. As I turned on my lights, I was startled at the sight of Lamar sitting in my chair, facing me.
"What the actual fuck is going on..." He stated blankly. I placed my hands in front of me.
"Please, I can explain..." I started.
"Explain you fucking better. Didn't you learn enough the first fucking 500 times he fucked you over?" Lamar's voice was raising.
"Keep your voice down." I said, placing Edge on my table.
"Keep my voice down?!" He shouted, "So no one knows you're fucking the enemy?" I turned to him.
"Alek is not the fucking enemy. He doesn't want this. I don't fucking want this. WE don't fucking want this." I raised my voice back.
"He could've fucking fooled me," Lamar began to pace, "What if it's an act? Huh? Did you ever once stop to think about that? No. Probably fucking not." He pinched the bridge of his nose in pure frustration.
"My actions are just that. MY actions. They don't involve you." I said, irritated.
"They involve me when they threaten a group of people that I just so fucking happen to be in." He scoffed.
"Lamar. Just fucking stop."
"He's fucked you over so many times. Why the fuck wouldn't he now?" I stood silently, "You killed his girlfriend in cold fucking blood and you think that all of a fucking sudden everything is gonna go back to how it was over 5 years ago?" He breathed out deeply, "All I'm saying is, I don't fucking trust him. And I cannot believe that you would after everything." I turned and walked towards my door, opening it. I turned back to him.
"Goodnight, Lamar." I said coldly.
"Are you fucking serious?" He shook his head, "What would Audrey say about this? Or Jed? Or Aysa?"
"Don't." I said through gritted teeth then pointed out the door.
"This talk isn't over." Lamar walked out, brushing my shoulder with his exit. I shut the door behind him, locking it. I slid down to the floor, leaned against the door. And began to cry. I never raised my voice at him, and he's never yelled at me. I stood up, wiping the snot away from my nose with the back of my hand. I walked over to the table, picking Edge up. I walked over at sat on my couch.
"Am I making the wrong choice?" I say out loud. I start picking the dried blood off Edge, "Or is he just being mean?? Misunderstanding? He doesn't know Alek like I do. No one does..." I trail off, realizing I'm talking to a sledgehammer. I slowly place him on the coffee table. I stand up and walk into my room. I walk over to my dresser and change into shorts and a tank top. I crawl into bed and lay there. Looking up at the ceiling.
