"ALEK!" I cried as I held his lifeless body. I looked up at Aysa, "You..." I stood up, pulling the gun out of my waistband, "You pathetic, pitiful excuse of a human being." I pointed it at him.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." He smiled. I felt the tears running down my face.
"So this was the point of your walks?" Lamar stepped up, gun pointed at my stepdad.
"You guys are so stupid." Aysa chuckled.
"I'm gonna fucking kill you..." I whispered.
"Try it." Aysa whispered back.
"Yeah, Jade," My stepdad laughed, "Go ahead and try it. My people will drop your people so fast." I turned to him.
"Why? Why the fuck would you take away the one thing I ever truly fucking cared about?" I asked, tears still hot on my face.
"To break you." He answered, casually. Everyone had their gun pointing at the opposing group. Aysa walked over to the gate, opening it and walking over next to my stepdad. They turned away, walking toward their vehicles.
"I'm gonna kill you." I mumbled through gritted teeth.
"What was that?" My stepdad turned back. I looked up at him, walking to the gate.
"I'm gonna fucking kill you." I said, calmly, as I felt a tear fall down my cheek.
"Good luck." He smiled, then chuckled as he and his group got in their cars and left. As soon as their cars were out of sight, I fell to my knees next to Alek's lifeless body.
"Alright, everyone, just... go home..." Jed announced as he walked over to me.
"I'm so sorry..." I cried, holding Alek's head in my lap, gently running my hands through his hair, "I'm so sorry..." I just kept repeating it.
"Jade..." Lamar stepped beside me, reaching his hand out to me.
"NO!" I screamed, clutching Alek to my chest, hot tears streaming, "Don't take him away yet..." I looked up, pleading.
"Alright..." Lamar stepped back. I looked around to see that no one had listened to Jed's request to go home. Everyone stood in silence. Mourning with me. Audrey's hand covered her mouth. Nick, Khalil, and Tyler's faces showed loss of a friend. My father, had tears in his eyes.
"This wasn't how it was supposed to be..." I whispered, running my fingers along Alek's cheek, "We were finally together... We were finally happy..." I finally broke. I fell over, my head on his chest, sobbing profusely.
"Everyone. Bed. Now." Jed commanded. This time, I heard shuffling, people moving.
"I got her from here." I hear Lamar clear his throat.
"We've got to take the body..." Nick whispered.
"Yeah, we gotta bury him." Tyler muttered.
"Not right now," Audrey said, "Give her time. Let her stay out here all night if she needs to."
"Alright." Nick agreed. I heard more shuffling. Then steps towards me.
"Ziggles..." Lamar sat down next to me. I leaned up at looked at him.
"They're going to regret this..." I mumbled, wiping my nose with my shirt, "They're gonna feel what we feel."
"Let's get you home." Lamar went to grab my arm. I snapped it back next to me.
"No. Leave." I looked at him.
"...Ziggles, you know I can't do that." He sighed.
"Go to bed. That's an order." I demanded. He nodded, got up and walked away. I turned back to Alek's body. I closed his eyelids and laid my head on his chest once more, and let the tears roll.
