Meeting her

   Eli's POV

Double J made me go out. He'd seen the Audi drive back and he wanted us to check out Mr Ted's niece.  I'm sure his curiosity was piqued because of the picture he saw. It made me wonder why I didn't look at the picture in order to be prepared.
Double J shoved me out of the house which made me look clumsy. Last thing I wanted was the girl to think I'm into her and can't even take a step.

"Double J, I'll get you!" I turned and found the girl staring at me. Her dark hair fell past her shoulders in dull waves but it was her eyes that caught my attention. They were a beautiful shade of blue. I saw the girl blushing and quickly rushing inside the house because I'd caught her staring at me.  I felt Double J's presence but couldn't react. Ted McCurdy's niece almost looked like my dream girl.

"She's good looking, ain't she?" I merely nodded, not trusting my voice. I should have looked at the picture.

"Should we go over?" My feet were already moving to Ted's house. I heard Double J laughing. Only one girl had ever affected me like this.

"I'm sure Mr Ted would like that. Race ya!" I rolled my eyes but walked at a steady pace. Too bad my heart wasn't beating steadily. I feared a cardiac arrest. Double J had rang the doorbell. Stanley appeared and looked at us with what I figured was a smile.

"Master McCurdy is waiting for you. Please follow me" He gave us a curt nod and dashed back into the house. We followed as quietly as we could.
Mr Ted was sitting near his niece. They had the same bone structure and dark hair but their eyes were different, where her eyes were blue Ted's eyes were grey.

"Julian! Eli! I'm glad you're here." His eyes literally lit up when he saw us. The girl looked at her sneakers. She didnt look like she belonged. That was weird. I knew Mr Ted's family were already rich. I wonder what her story was.

"Hi, Mr Ted. Are we interrupting something important?"

"Not at all, Julian. I want you to meet my niece. I need to sort out something with Stanley. Let me leave you guys to get to know each other" Mr Ted gave us a little wink and left the room with Stanley.
Double J moved to the sofa the girl was seated on.

"Hi, I'm Julian or Double J but you, my dear can call me Incredible" The girl let out a small laugh. It was cute and sounded heavenly. I felt jealousy and mentally shook off the feeling. Double J kissed her hand and she blushed. Clearly, she wasn't used to receiving this kind of attention from guys.

" I'm Robin Andrea" Her voice was small but sounded sweet. It made me remember the sound of birds chirping sweet melodies. Get a grip, Elidamus! She turned to face me. "And you are?" Her eyes had brown specks in them, making me want to drool in their beauty, not that I'd ever tell her or Double J.

"I'm Elidamus but just call me Eli" She nodded and smiled. I couldn't help but smile back. "We promised your uncle we'd take you on a tour and maybe get your school supplies."

" That was sweet of you. I appreciate it" she seemed uneasy. Had she been beaten up at her old home? Was that why Mr Ted had brought her here? I looked at her closely as she talked to Double J. There were no marks or scars but she could have hidden them all with makeup. Her pale skin didnt look like she had makeup on it.

"Can I call you RoAn?" I groaned. Trust Double J to make it obvious he was hitting on a girl. I just hoped Robin wouldn't fall for his charms and get hurt but then again, when she gets hurt she can run into my arms for comfort. What was I thinking?! Where from those thoughts? After Carlyle, I didnt want a girl in my life and no other girl had affected me as such.

"Of course, RoAn. I like it. Can I know your full names? That is if you want" Her eyes were downcast again.

"I'm Julian Brew Jackson and Mr Moody is Elidamus Darren Johnson. What about you, RoAn?"

"Robin Andrea McCurdy Richardson"

"Robin, don't listen to Double J. I'm not moody"

"You sure? It's obvious without Incredible here telling me" was she flirting with me?

"Well, it's hard to focus when you're seated in the midst of a very pretty girl" Double J looked at me and grinned like a maniac. Robin was blushing so hard. I don't know what had possessed me to say that.

"Er, thank you" Mr Ted and Stanley chose that moment to walk in. I felt relieved.

"Hey boys, I have to head out. The company needs me. Can Robin hang around you guys?"

"Of course, Mr Ted. We're going to get our stationery. RoAn can tag along." We got up and Robin went to hug her uncle.

"You look like Lorna, Robin. Welcome to a new life. Welcome to San Francisco".
