Bad news

    Robin's POV

12 September

Dear Dani
I can't believe I kissed a guy and no it's not who you're thinking. Eli wasn't my first. Someone else was. His name is Frederick Arthur. I met him at the ball and he saved me from shame while Eli stood there watching. He could have warned me that they'll pour paint on me but I guess Eli doesn't care about me anymore and his true feelings are playing out. I know I sound harsh but Dani it seems so true. Frederick came to search for me when I ran outside the house distressed and he comforted me. Something that Eli should have been doing. I called Stanley to come pick me and Frederick followed me home. He refused to sleep over. Did I tell you his cousin is Macy? Yup. What a small world. Anyway I kissed him out of gratitude. My first kiss. It was okay I guess. I just wished I had it with Eli. I have to go shower. Later

I closed Dani and placed her in my bag. I saw my report on the discovery of the other worlds. I just hoped it was good enough. I've never gotten a B before. I wouldn't start at Ophiuchus. I showered quickly although it was just quarter past six. I decided to wear an off the shoulder blouse with skinny jeans and black flats. I still wasn't used to the heels. I dashed downstairs with my bag. Funnily, I wanted to be in school very early.

"Morning Flora. What's for breakfast today?" Uncle Ted wasn't around. I had missed him ruffling my hair and asking me how my sleep was. He reminded me of my dad a lot.

"I made you some oatmeal. I forgot to tell you you had a call yesterday" I got confused because I didnt get anything on my phone.

"Who called?"

"It was Elidamus. I don't know why he didn't call your cell phone" I didn't know if she sounded curious or concerned. She knew we weren't really talking anymore. I sighed.

"Oh Okay. I'll talk to him in school. We never got to sharing phone numbers yet. Oh hey Stanley"

"Hi, Robin. Ready for school?" I nodded and got up.

"When will uncle Ted come?"

"His meeting has been moved again. Since he has several deals to take care of, he doesn't know for sure but I'm sure he'll be back soon" I waved Flora goodbye and followed Stanley to the car. My phone beeped. It was a text.

Freddie<3 : Good morning
I smiled. I wasn't expecting that.
Me : Morning :)
Freddie<3 : How was your sleep?
Me : it was alright. Yours?
Freddie<3 : mine was alright. Dreamt about you ;-)
Was he flirting with me? It seemed kinda cute.
Me: I hope I kicked your butt
Freddie<3 : not at all. LOL. What are you doing?
Me: going to school
Freddie<3 : see you then.
I smiled and shook my head. Frederick seemed cool and already he was proving himself as a good pal. I saw the school and sighed. I loved learning and all but I hated Annaliese and how she wanted to ruin me.

"Thanks Stan. See you later"

"Enjoy your day, Robin" I nodded and got down. The students were loitering about. Some sat on the grass reading. I could see others were catching up. I saw Macy and Frederick sitting together. I started walking over. Frederick caught my eye and smiled so huge I couldn't help smiling back. Once upon a time, it was Eli doing that to me. I stopped in my tracks. What was I thinking about? Did I want Eli out of my life because he wasn't talking to me? I already told him I didn't want him but I hoped he knew I didn't mean it.

"Robin, hurry up" Macy whined. I laughed and shook my head. Some people were staring at me I refused to care. I caught up to them. Frederick got up and gave me a hug. I saw Eli but didnt maintain eye contact. I could see pain in his. My phone vibrated in my pocket which was weird.

"Sorry, I need to answer my phone" I broke free and saw it was my dad. "Hi pops"

"Hi, Blue Robin. How're you?"

"I'm good and you?"

"I'm also okay, sweetheart"

"Dad, what's wrong? You never call this early" I heard him sigh. Macy and Frederick turned to look at me.

"Your brother is sick. He had fever last night. His temperature is still high" oh no! I knew I shouldn't have left Kieran.

"Dad! Why isn't he in the hospital?!" I was growing hysteric and people were looking at me but I didn't care. This was my brother!

"Blue Robin calm down. Your mother and I will do so in a few minutes. I just wanted you to know how he was."

"Dad, I can't calm down! I just can't!" I started crying barely hearing what my dad was saying. Frederick pulled me into another hug and Macy took my phone.

"Mr Richardson, I'm Macy a friend of Robin. I'll make sure she's okay before class. Okay I'll tell her. Bye"
Frederick wiped away my tears with his handkerchief.
"Your dad said he loves you and don't worry about Kieran" I hugged Frederick harder, glad I had someone to lean on for once.

"Come on, let's get to homeroom. Frederick has it with you" I hugged Macy and took my phone back. I let Frederick lead me to my class. Almost everyone knew him. I was wondering how. He told me it was his first day.
I didn't pay attention to Annaliese and her rude remarks. I kept thinking about Kieran. Would Uncle Ted let me go back to Clarksville to see him?
Get a grip Robin. He'll be fine. He's going to the hospital. He'll be fine.

"RoAn, I'm worried about you. How was your first class?"

"I'm fine, Frederick. I don't remember what happened in that class. It's just that, Kieran rarely gets sick but when he does it's just serious"

"I understand. Come on, Macy is waiting for you to head of to Geometry" I nodded and followed him. He held my hand firmly and I sighed. Eli. I miss you. Eli, why did you ignore me? Eli...
I was able to focus on geometry because of an impromptu test. I was glad it took my mind off Kieran although later I felt guilty. Last period. Eli and Julian. I didn't want to meet them in this state.

"RoAn, do you know where the United States History Class is?"

"I have that class now. Let's go" We walked into class before Julian and Eli did. Eli caught my eye but I stared vacantly into his.

"Settle down. Today we are going to talk about Exploration. Who were explore the new world?" Automatically, my hand shot up. My cheeks began to flame but I was already called upon.

"The French and Spanish"

"That's right Robin. When Columbus returned from the New World, a lot of activity started in Europe. The old monarchs were intrigued and started dispatching explorers to discover new places. Why were they interested in the new continent?"

"Because of the abundance in silver and gold" a girl called Larissa answered. I started doodling in my notebook. I'd read about this weeks ago. I wished Kieran was my twin then I would know what was going on with him. I sighed. We were given more homework but I didn't mind. Anything to keep my mind off Kieran. I called Stanley to come pick me up and walked to the court with Frederick.

"Robin, I need to talk to you" I turned so did Frederick. It was Eli. Julian was following him. Frederick answered for me

"She doesn't want to talk to you, Eli" how did he know Eli?

"Move aside Arthur. You don't know what she wants!" I stood there watching them unable to do anything. We were drawing a crowd and I didn't like it.

"She wants a friend not some traitor like you!" They were getting ready to punch each other when I stepped  in between them.

"Now, listen to me both of you. My little brother is in the hospital fighting for his life while you're here raving about unimportant stuff! If you're done with your show of strength, I'd like some peace to think! Eli, you need to talk to me this is my number." I grabbed his phone from his hand and dialled my number. I turned to face Frederick. "I can talk to whomever I want!" That was harsh but I didnt care! Didn't my little brother matter? Luckily, Stanley was just pulling into the parking lot. I ran to the car and slammed the door, not facing anyone.
