Robin's POV

It felt like a dream. A wonderful dream at that.

"Ouch!" Well, dreams don't have pain, do they?

"Sit still Robin. You made a mess of your hair while preparing for this decathlon. Now look at what I have to deal with" Macy whined and Flora patted her shoulder in consolation.

"Stop yanking my hair, Mace. I'm sure if you do it gently, everything will be alright" I winced as she combed my hair.

"Well, you could have thoroughly combed through it daily before going to school.  Your hair is full of knots. Ugh" she continued complaining oblivious to my pain.
Flora decided that we should go with something simple and for once I agreed with her. My dress was a silver knee length Chanel with pretty ruffles in front. I opted for simple black flats which outraged Macy but it was my night. I could choose anything I wanted.

"There! You look pretty" my hair was in a high ponytail with a few ringlets. I had minimal makeup which annoyed Macy.

"Thanks Mace" She gave me a warm smile. My phone chose to beep at that moment. I wondered who it was. Frederick had been texting me so much. I actually felt bad for putting him through that but I wasn't being fair on both of us by being with him while I really loved Elidamus.

Eli: hey you good?

I just stared at the message for a bit. Why would Eli text me? We talked yesterday and although it felt a bit awkward I liked it. I felt guilty about that too. It took awhile and I figured if I didn't reply, he would think I didn't  to talk to him. So I just typed out a reply, fully aware Mace was staring at me.

Me: I'm just nervous. You?

My reply came instantly.

Eli: you've done this so many times
Why are you nervous.

Me: its always scary

Eli:Save a dance for me?

I smiled brightly and hugged the phone to my chest. Was it a way of reconciling? I hoped so.
Me: Always Eli. Gtg.

"So, mind telling me what that was all about?" She looked guarded and I sighed. How could I tell this to her? After all, I hurt her cousin.

"It was just Eli. He's coming to the banquet and he asked me to save him a dance"

"You still love him, don't you?"

"I'm sorry, Macy. Frederick is awesome and all but.."

"But he ain't Eli, right?" I nodded miserably. She walked over to me and hugged me. "Hey, follow your heart.  Love is what truly matters." I looked at Macy in surprise. I knew she wanted me to be with her cousin.

"Girls, are you ready? The banquet starts in half an hour" Stan said with a knock. I grabbed my clutch and Macy hurriedly dubbed on a little lipstick.

"We're coming, Stan" Macy screamed and I just laughed.  Macy went downstairs and I took a photograph from my nightstand. It was the picture I brought from Clarksville.

"Momma, Pops, Kieran, I just wish you guys were here" I kissed the three of them and set the picture back on the stand.

"I thought you had chickened out" Flora said teasingly.
