Kidnapped

Eli's POV

Robin had been acting distant. I guess I deserved it after brushing away her invite to see a movie. Julian should have told me the invite was from her and not him.
It had been a week and everything seemed almost normal at school. Annaliese hadn't started dating anyone yet and I was wondering whom her poor conquest would be.
Julian and Robin seemed to be growing closer but I knew that was my jealousy talking. I mean, when I wasn't there for her, Julian had made sure she was alright. I should rather be happy she had a faithful friend.

"Hey, Eli. Practice got cancelled today. Wanna join the boys and I for a round of skateboarding? " Matt cornered me. Skateboarding sounded tempting but I had a project to work on.

"I'm sorry,Matt. I have a lot of projects due soon"

"Another time then" He sounded disappointed. I saw Robin and Frederick walking together smiling. I was glad school had ended. I broke into a light jog and stepped out, getting into my car without a backwards glance. I drove without any destination in mind.
Were they together again? Could it be that she never stopped loving him?

I shook those thoughts away. I was just torturing myself. There were no rumors about them being together again.
Driving had a calming effect on me. The faster I went, the clearer my thoughts became. I had to give it one last chance.

Cos you were right here and I should have taken the chance but I got so scared and I lost the moment again

A song I could relate to. I cranked up the radio and listen as the notes blared loudly.

"I should , I should oh, I should have kissed you" I was singing along and it gave me hope. I was gonna try and win back Robin and this time I wouldn't give up. I would win her.
I stopped by a flower shop and bought a huge bouquet of black roses. I don't know why I chose them but I knew Robin would accept them.
My phone started ringing and I answered. Double J.

"Double J."

"Where are you, Eli?"

"what's wrong.?"

"It's a little after nine and none of us know where you are. Do you expect us to be alright? "

"Wow. I didn't realise the time. I'm on my way"

"Where exactly are you? "

"I don't know.  I just went out for a drive. I'd follow the GPS okay?"

"Fine." I couldn't believe myself. I hated making mum worry because it only led to me being grounded. I caught sight of the roses and my smile returned. I was doing it for Robin. She mattered.
I drove quickly and within the hour I was at nearing Hunter's Creek. For the first time ever, there was a power outage. No wonder they were all worried about me.
I saw a van parked a few feet from my house, closer to Robin's. It was windowless and black. I thought it strange that such a vehicle was parked there. I decided to ignore it till I saw a lone figure leaving my house. The figure walked towards Ted's house and my heart started beating fast. Two men emerged from behind the van and pressed a cloth to the figure's face. Long hair. Slender figure. It was a female.
No! My mind screamed. It can't be her. They carried the body into the van. I was too far to catch up. I hit the brakes suddenly in front of my house.  My tyres screeched but they weren't important. I opened the door leaving it ajar. Flashlights and candles provided light. My dad and mum sat on the couch. I could see the worry lines on her face but that wasn't my first priority at the moment.
They got up to hug me but I pushed them away.

"Which girl just left this place?" I shouted and they looked surprised. I sighed. I didn't have time for that.
"I said who just left!?"

"Eli, calm down." It was Julian, trying to be sensible. "Robin just left. She said she had some assignments to tend to"
I sank to the floor, instant tears falling.

"No! No!"

"Elidamus, what is wrong?  Why are you acting this way?"

"Robin. R-Robin just got kidnapped. I saw them. I saw them" I was babbling but it wasn't important. Dad had to hold down Julian. He was ready to lunge at me and tear me to bits. I felt woozy and closed my eyes welcoming the darkness.

Robin's POV

Julian decided that I needed a break. From our new project at the restaurant and from my life. I agreed with him wholeheartedly.

"should I get you smarties or a Mars bar?"

"How about a coke and some old fashioned popcorn? "

"Sounds Ideal, my lady" His phone started ringing and his brows furrowed when he saw the caller id.

"Hello." I couldn't read his face. Was everything alright?
"No. I haven't seen him since I spotted him in class. I'll let you know if anything comes up."

"Incredible, is everything okay?" I said touching his arm.

"Not really. "

"Who just called?"

"It was Aunt Laurie. She got home early but there was no Eli. She wasn't worried till he didn't answer her calls. It's almost nine pm too "

"Eli is old enough to take care of himself " I said trying to mask my worry.
What was Eli thinking? How could he just storm off to some place without telling anyone? Julian normally acted on impulse but Eli was supposed to be the sensible one. The movie suddenly didn't seem good.

"Let's go to his house. I'm sure he would be back soon" Suddenly, everywhere was dark. A power outage! Someone grabbed my hand and I struggled against him.

"RoAn, relax. It's me" I visibly relaxed. I was safe with Julian. I knew it.

"You're right. Aunt Laurie needs us" The drive to the Johnson home was in silence. I tried creating small talk but it died out. Julian and Eli were best friends, brothers. I was sure he was really worried just as I was. Oh Eli, please be alright "
Eli's parents were seated together. I'm sure this had never happened before so they were all scared. I thought about my parents. They forgot I told them I'd be staying late at the library one day and worried themselves to oblivion till I came. I got grounded too.
I was lost in my thoughts and didn't realise when Double J had left the room. He came to my side and wrapped his arms around me.

"I got him. He said he's on his way."

"Where is he?" Mrs Laurie asked.

"He doesn't know but he's gonna be here soon" I didn't want Eli to see me in his house.

"I think I should leave. It's pretty late and I've got some more projects. "
Double J raised an eyebrow but said nothing. Eli's parents nodded.

"Lemme walk you home "

"It's alright Incredible. You know I don't live far. " I hugged him and stepped outside. I immediately regretted. I should have taken one of the flashlights. I walked quickly, trying not to fall. Something grabbed me. Impulsively, I started struggling. Julian was still in the house. It couldn't be him.

"Hurry up. Where's the cloth? She's a fierce one" my eyes grew wide in alarm. Another person pressed a cloth to my face. I was trying to fight it but I was weak from struggling. I recognised the chemical. Chloroform.
No! Darkness claimed me.

~love is just so difficult. What is gonna happen to Robin? Why was she even kidnapped? Muhahaha
