      Eli's POV

I wanted to lay in bed all day and do nothing. Not that my mum would let me but it seemed nice to let the thought sink through. Then I started to think about her.
Her blue eyes with brown specks. Her long hair looking so dull but somehow managed to portray a beautiful look. Why in Pete's sake was I attracted to Robin? Were the fates being cruel?or did Cupid decided to have a laugh at my expense?
Ugh! My thoughts dissolved at the sound of my phone ringing. It was Annaliese.

"Hello" my tone was bored and I knew it would piss her off.

"Hi, Eli. How have you been?"

"Not bad. Your end?" Gaea swallow me now please.

"I've been good. I've missed you. You didnt show up for the party last night" I forgot about that.

"Julian and I were shopping for school stuff. Sorry about that" I'm not particularly sorry I missed it. I thought

"There's another one at Trisha's today. Can you make it?"
She was pleading but her voice sounded manipulative.

"I'll ask Julian. Then we'll call to verify if we can make it. Sounds good?"

"Yes, thanks. Can't wait to see you. I picked up something nice to wear because of you" I shuddered.

"Er, sure. I have to bounce. Later"

"Bye, Eli. Kisses" yikes! God please let something come up. I dialled Julian's number.

"Yo, Eli. What's up? It's barely seven"

"Look who's complaining. You come here to wake me at five when we have to jog"

"That's different. Anyway, why did you call? I know it ain't because you miss me" I rolled my eyes

"Annaliese just called me" I said with a huff. I could hear a sharp intake of breath on the other line. Finally I had his attention.

"Is she staking claim on you yet?"

"Er no. Can we not talk about that? It gives me nightmares. She said we didnt come to the party last night"

"Oh yeah. I totally forgot about that. What did you tell her?"

"We had to shop for school stuff but she said we should come to tonight's party. What should we do?"

"Eli, you like going to parties. What's changed?"

"Nothing has changed, Double J. I don't like being singled out by Annaliese. It gives her some kind of hold" I sighed.

"Well, I can pretend to have food poisoning. You can't so figure out what to do" he hanged up. I went to to bathroom and took a small shower and went downstairs. Mum was already preparing to go to the hospital. I could tell that dad had already left.

"Morning, mum" I sat down and looked at my plate. French toast, bacon and eggs. Yum.

"Hi, dear. I'm glad you're up already. I have to rush to the hospital." The doorbell rang but she told me she would get it. A minute later, Mr Ted and Robin walmked into my home. Her hair was tied in a neat bun and she wore a cream tank top, blue skinny jeans that hugged her figure and black flats.

"Laurie, I'm sorry I had to barge in on you this early"

"It's alright, Ted. Come, let's sit down. So this is your lovely niece."

"We won't take long. Yes, this is Robin, Lorna's daughter" I watched as my mum hugged Robin so tight. Had she known Lorna McCurdy? I would have to ask her

"What brings you here, Ted?"

"I'm taking Robin to New York to shop for clothes. I was wondering if Eli could come along so Robin wouldn't feel left out or lonely in case I had a business call or something related to work" 

"I understand. When are you leaving?" I'd finished eating and started clearing my plate.
"Eli, Mr Ted needs you here" i went back and met Robin's eyes. She gave me a little smile and I saw a blush creeping up her neck.

"Hi, Mr Ted. Mum said you need me here."  He smiled at me and I beamed back at him. He was a cool man.

"I'm taking Robin to New York. I wanna shop for some clothes for her but I might get calls regarding work so I wanted you to tag along with Julian"

"Oh, I'm afraid Double J can't join us. He said he has food poisoning" I liked messing with Julian. It was fun although I knew he'd kill me afterwards.

"That's bad. How is he?" I looked at Robin, almost forgetting she was in the room.

"He's getting better. We can call him later, deal?"

"Absolutely" I loved her smiles.

"I guess that settles it then. Eli, grab your passport from your room and please hurry. I have surgery in an hour" mum sure liked being bossy. It was sweet though.
I rushed to my room and found my passport in a messy pile of clothes in my cabinet. Mum would kill me if she saw this. I'll clean up when I come back. I reasoned with myself.

"Got it!" Ted McCurdy nodded and went outside with Robin following. I took a Gucci backpack dad had gotten me last month and followed them. Mum locked up and kissed my cheek. I hugged her in turn and got into Ted's black Volvo.
