Moments later a group of black vans similar to ours rolled up in a cloud of dust. Men spilled out with weapons pointed at us. The man behind me tightened a fist in my hair and tilted my head back while he brandished a dagger to my throat. I felt Jane struggle beside me, screaming against her gag. I gulped and felt the dagger pierce my skin, a trickle of blood running and mingling with the dust. A man stood out amongst the crowd of soldiers, a man in a dark trench coat and an eyepatch. Peculiar, I know. "Loki," he bellowed out, "It might be a good idea to let the women go." I heard Loki chuckle beside me as he walked forward. "Now tell me, why would I do that?" he replied. The man across from us simply sighed. "Because, you've already lost to The Avengers once, is it really necessary to repeat that again?" Loki chuckled again, but there was a slight menacing edge to it this time. "Well, I've learned from my mistakes, and corrected them. I have better hostages under my control this time. Oh how bad of me, I forgot the introductions. Now..." Loki trailed off as a new crowd arrived, some from the sky singularly, some in a helicopter. As the new arrivals formed themselves in a "v" beside the eyepatched man, one in particular stood out to me. He was one of the men who flew from the sky himself. He was dressed in a set of armour similar to Loki's and brandished a silver hammer in his hand. He switching his gaze from Loki to Jane worridly, without looking at me. The way he looked at Jane was so lovingly I... Then it hit me. This man was Thor, and from the looks of it he was still deeply in love with Jane. My mother... It was so strange to place a face to that endearing term. But it fit her well.
While I was zoning out the atmosphere changed. Loki had stiffened and glared at Thor. Thor simply glared back menacingly. "Well, well, well, my brother has arrived." Loki joked with an edge. "I was beginning to wonder if you'd ever show up, if these people still meant anything to you." Thor growled at Loki as he motioned the man behind me to move me forward. I was shoved forward, the dagger digging deeper into my throat letting more blood run. As I was forced to my knees beside Loki, Thor stared at me confused. "Why have you brought an innocent Midgardian into this Loki? She is too young to have done anything to you." Thor asked Loki. Then it clicked. Thor must not have known anything about me... Jane must not have told him. That hurt. She didn't even care to tell him she had had a baby with him? She just dropped me off on that doorstep like it was nothing. A tear slipped down my face as I thought it through. Thor saw and shook it off as tear of fear. But if only he knew.
Loki motioned yet another man forward, this time with my backpack. Loki took it and threw my file to the ground. "She is no innocent Midgardian. She is the daughter of a demigod. Or to be more specific, you." Loki said happily. Thor simply yelled back at Loki angerly, "Stop playing games Loki, I would know if I had a child. She would be safe at home in Asgard." Loki chuckled darkly. "Oh you would, would you? Look at the file Thor." he demanded. Thor stooped to pick up the file, never taking his eyes off his enemy. As he flipped through the papers, disbelief clouded his eyes. He glanced at me and I caught his eye. I tried to tell him I was okay with it in that one look but I don't know if he understood. Then he looked at Jane, disappointment was written all over his face. Loki signaled to the man holding Jane to remove her gag and as soon as he did Jane spat out all of her apologies to Thor. Thor simply shushed her and told her it was alright, like a proper gentleman. Then he looked at me, "I'm sorry you have had to go through this." I tried to nod my head but as soon as I did the dagger dug a little deeper. It was at a dangerous point now and Thor knew it. "What do you want, brother?" He directed towards Loki. "Well, to cause you pain, of course. And then you know how much I love to play games..." "Enough!" Bellowed out one of Thor's colleagues, a man dressed head to toe in red, white, and blue, "You give the women up now or you will face the consequences." Loki simply chuckled that bone chilling chuckle... "Oh," he said, "I guess its time to play."
