I woke up suddenly with a gasp.  Loki had ended our dreamscape so quickly, it had the same effect as someone hanging up the phone on you.  I blinked wearily until the room around me came into focus.  Suprisingly, I was alone, something that never seems to happen any more.  I sat up in the hospital bed and looked around: not a soul in sight.  I quickly disabled the heart monitor before removing it from my finger so it wouldn't set off an alarm and make them think I was dead.  I jumped of the bed and headed into the hall in search of my father.

I found him and the other avengers in one of the meeting rooms.  I wasted no time as I went up to speak with him,

"Dad, I really need to talk to you, preferably alone", I told him, glancing around at the other avengers.

"Adda, you shouldn't be up, you need your rest.  I know how tiring it is learning how to control an affinity." he told me sternly, his fatherly side showing proudly.

"I know," I told him, "but this needs to be discussed now and then I will rest."  I swear, when you are around an Asgardian all the time you suddenly feel the need to talk properly, which is really not like me.

"Very well then," he agreed, "If you will excuse us."

The group let us leave with no hesitation, not even a smart-ass remark from Tony, which was a miracle in itself.  My father and I walked out into the hall, and I wrung my hands together nervously, not knowing how Thor was going to take this.

"Dad," I started, "I need to you to stay level-headed about what I'm about to tell you.  No freak-outs until the end, ok?"

He simply nodded, concern fogging his eyes.

"Uncle Loki is going in to Asgard to retrieve something he says will help me control my affinity with lightning.  He compared it to how Mjonir works for you.  I know he is the god of mischief and everything but I am still worried about him.  You said Heimdall can see everything and surely they are on the look-out for Loki and not everyone can be sneaky all the time and he is doing this for me and if something happens it will be my fault.  I know he has done bad stuff in the past but I can't help but think that it wasn't his fault.  I just have this feeling that something was controlling him and it wasn't his fault Dad! I'm worried about him.  I know the only time I've met him face-to-face one of his minions stabbed me but I think he got really mad about that.  Dad I don't wanna lose him! Family is family and family doesn't stop at blood!"

I stopped and took a breath, just barely realizing I had just spilled every thought I had had about Loki since I had met him.  I slowly looked into my father's eyes, preparing myself for the disappointment I just knew would rest there.

Instead, I was presently surprised to see understanding in his eyes.  Dad just looked down at me and smiled a sad smile.

"I feel the exact same way, princess.  And I promise, I will send word to my loyal friends on Asgard.  Should anything go wrong, they will be there to help."

Relief washed over me as my father pulled me into a hug.

"Thank you, daddy."
