I couldn't sit down for the rest of the day. My nervous energy had been cranked up ten-fold. Father said he had sent a message to Lady Sif and The Warrior's Three but he had not heard any response so far. It had been a little over an hour since I had last heard from my uncle and I had no doubt that he was knee-deep in mischief in Asgard by now. Father felt his hands were tied because any of our arrivals in Asgard would only tip Heimdall of that something was going on. It was time I took this situation into my own hands.

I found the closest closet on the base I could find and quickly locked myself in. I wouldn't have long before my father noticed my absence and came looking for me. And wherever my father went, an Avenger or two were sure to follow. I had a plan, albeit a shaky one, but it was a plan. I sat down in the middle of the closet floor with my eyes shut tightly. I had a hunch that I could use my uncle and I's mind link to possibly check in on him.

I centered both mind and body and started searching my head for any trace of Loki. I began with memories, picturing him in my mind of all the times we have shared, both pleasant and unpleasant. When I ran through all those, I began to imagine what my life would have been like if I had been raised on Asgard with my real family. I imagined my father and I riding our horses through a grove of trees, I imagined Loki and I play-battling and him letting me win. I wrote thousands of scenes in head through all my ages until now. Finally, when I had just began to give up hope, I felt a flicker of Loki's being. It was like all of a sudden I was aware of him and his location, and everything. I felt the echo of fear, hope, and above all, mischief. Within a few seconds a scene unfolded before me as if I was seeing through my uncle's eyes. It seems it was then that my uncle became aware of my presence as well.

"Addaline Amelia Thordottir what on Midgard do you think you are doing?" he questioned me sternly, with an air of disbelief.

"Checking in on you Uncle, Father sent a message to Lady Sif and The Warrior's Three but he never heard a reply. I was worried about you so I used to mind link to assure myself of your well-being." I replied smugly, pretty proud of what I had done.

"Very well Adda, you have checked and I am well. I am in the progress of finding your daggers now. And I must commend you on your speech, you sound as if you were raised on Asgard all your life. But I must insist you end the connection this instant as you have not learned how to cloak yourself and you have projected your form and are standing before me." Loki suggested.

I looked down in shock and realized Uncle was correct, I had actually projected my physical form and a see through, gold emitting version of myself was standing before Loki. I gulped, realizing what a big mistake I had made. I looked up at my uncle with sheepishly,

"Sorry?", I half asked, half told. Loki simply chuckled,

"It is quite alright, a beginner's mistake really. But it would be very beneficial to the both of us if you were to sever the link now."

"Oh, right," I remembered, "now how would I go about doing that?"

Loki opened his mouth to begin explaining, but we were interrupted by a woman clearing her throat. Uncle and I slowly swiveled to meet the sound, Loki obviously recognized the woman, I on the other hand, did not.

"Uncle, shouldn't we be running?" I asked him out of the side of my mouth.

"Uncle?", the lady in gold asked, "Loki, is this Thor's lost child?"

"Yes Mother, this is Thor's child Addaline. Adda, this is your grandmother, Frigga." He introduced quickly before continuing the conversation, "Mother I know of my crimes but young Adda is quickly being overtaken by her lightning affinities, I have come for the daggers of old to help her channel her powers, much like Thor does with Mjonir. Please Mother, I mean no harm."

Frigga gauged Loki with her all-knowing eyes, and I can only imagine what it would have been like to grow up under those eyes.

"Very well," my grandmother agreed, "but you must hurry now, Odin is on a tour of the grounds. And the child must use her magic to return to Midguard. It will only arouse more suspicion if a ghostly child is following you around the palace."

"Of course Mother," Loki replied, "I will make sure our connection is severed."

"Very well then," Frigga said, "Addaline dear, I hope to meet under better circumstances next time. I'm sure I can teach you better magic tricks than your dear uncle can."

I smiled in reply and nodded my head, "Sounds like a wonderful idea."

Uncle turned his attention back to me and looked me dead in the eyes, "I am going to try to assist you from my end of the link but you will have to do most of the heavy lifting. I want you to think of how you looked when you began to channel me. You have to focus on that mental image and block out all else. Picture it like a cloak covering your head. You can't see or hear me anymore. Think child, think."

And just like that, my uncle faded away from me once again. I was alone in the closet at SHIELD once again. Only is wasn't as quiet. My father was banging on the other side of the door.

"Addaline Amelia Thordottir, you will open this door this instant or I will break it down with Mjonir!"

Jeesh, lots of middle names today.
