Apricot, Dan and I were all in my living room playing a really intense game of Mario kart when dans phone began to ring loudly. Apricot and I kept playing while he answered the phone, yelling at each other and bashing each other with our remotes to try and knock the other one off the track. "Haha! I got you now bitch!" Apricot over took me and started to speed towards the finish line "not if I can help it!" I started to drive in a straight line and accelerated, soon enough I caught up with her.

"Shit, ok Chris calm down, it's gonna be ok" as soon as I heard Dan say the name Chris I dropped my controller, turned around to face him and when I saw his panicked expression I felt my heart sink. "Chris you need to leave there now" by this point apricot had paused the game and was listening to the conversation intently "leave PJ, he can defend himself, you just need to leave" Dan stood up abruptly and jogged out the living room and into the hall.

"Get out of there Chris! I'm coming over now" I gave apricot a look and she had the exact same one on her face, it was a mixture of confusion, concern and angst. "Let's follow him, we can help" I whispered to apricot so that Dan couldn't hear our scheming and tell us that we couldn't go. "Ok, let's take your car" I nodded at her and we both made our way to the hall so that we could see where Dan was going. "You're at Charlie's place? Ok I'll be right there" luckily I remember where Charlie lives so it should be easy to get there quicker than Dan.

"Guys I have to go again, Charlie managed to beat up PJ" what? How did he manage that? PJ was so much taller than him and from what I saw he seemed to be a lot stronger than him too. "Ok, we'll see you later" I said in a concerned tone, once he'd finished tying his shoe laces I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and a big bear hug. "Bye guys" without wasting anymore time he was out the door and our plan fell into action.

"Ok lets go" apricot and I got our shoes on, I slid on my favourite bomber jacket and she put her space jumper back on. Once we were ready we immediately ran through the front door, making sure I took the house keys and locked the door behind us, and hopped into my car that was parked directly outside my house. "Do you know hand-to-hand combat?" I asked apricot while I was starting up the car, she contemplated it for a bit before gasping "actually yes! I learned some martial arts when I was 18 for self defence" ok phew, if we had to fight then at least one of us had some combat training.

I drive to the house as quickly as my car, and the law, would allow me. We arrived in less than 7 minutes and when we did we were greeted with an odd sight. A boy with shaggy brown hair was sat on the pavement, outside a house, curled up in a ball with obvious bruising. Was this Chris? I parked the car two houses down from where the boy was and I started to run down the road towards the boy, apricot bit far behind me. "Hello? Are you Chris?" When I said the word Chris the boys head shot up and I started to approach him more carefully as I could now see that he was shaking. "Who are you?" I tried to think of one of my titles that would comfort him the most "I'm Charlie's ex and Dans boyfriend" I didn't like to be defined by my relationships but I can make an exception this one time.

"Dans inside, don't go in, Charlie is still swinging at him" I looked behind at apricot and made a decision that probably was not the best one to make "I'm going in, look after Chris" before either of them could object I was already making my way up the front steps, the door was already open so there was no need to knock.

The inside of the house scared me. It had a certain darkness to it that made me feel uneasy, probably since so many bad things had happened to me here. "GET BACK NOW" I heard Dans screams from the kitchen and reluctantly made my way towards the kitchen. On my way down the hall I spotted a bunch of keys on a single chain and held them in my fist so that my punches would have more impact, at least I'll be prepared. "FUCK OFF YOU TWAT!" I finally made it to the kitchen and I saw Charlie had Dan pinned up against the wall with a Swiss Army knife in his left hand.

"GET OFF HIM CHARLIE" Charlie turned to look at me and grinned evilly. "Oh, you don't like it when I touch your new arm candy?" I began to fall short of breath when Charlie thrust Dan up into the air with his right hand wrapped firmly around his throat, choking him. "Charlie I swear to god if you harm him I will end you" I was scared of how strong he had gotten, he was able to left up Dan, a 6ft tall man, with just his right arm.

How the hell am I going to beat him?
