Where the hell is he? I've been waiting here for over 1 hour and he still hasn't shown up! I've called him 10 times and left over 20 voicemails but he hasn't responded to any of them! He does this every time we have a date so I don't know what I expected.

People started staring at me sympathetically and I wished I could've just dug a massive hole in the ground, curl up into a ball and hide away from everyone's stares and my piece of shit boyfriend.

"Hello sir, are you ready to order?" I didn't know what to say so I just stalled some more "not quite yet, I'm so sorry" she smiled at me weakly and then returned to the other tables, fuck my life.

Just as I was about to give up and leave a tall boy with chestnut brown hair and chocolate brown eyes sat down at my table "I'm so sorry I'm late babe, I was let out late from work and traffic was a night mare" I looked around me with wide eyes and saw everyone had finally stopped staring at me.

The boy nudged me and whispered "just go along with it" I wasn't in a position to turn him down and he seemed like a nice enough person so I did as he said and went along with it.

The boy smirked at me, making my cheeks start to heat up, why do I always find myself in the most embarrassing scenarios? "what's your name?" He asked me with an undertone of confidence "Phil, Phil Lester.. and you are?" I noticed that he was wearing a black leather jacket which doesn't suit most people but he managed to miraculously pull it off.

"Dan Howell, it's a pleasure to meet you Phil" he turned his sly smirk into an angelic smile and I smiled back, I was so grateful that he stepped in the way he did. "And may I say you look very handsome tonight" I know that this was such a dodgey situation to be in but I couldn't help but be flattered. Not even my boyfriend compliments me like that.

"Thank you Dan, the feelings mutual" I fiddled with the collar of my shirt nervously until the waitress arrived to take our orders "what can I get you two handsome gentlemen this evening?" Dan looked up from the menu, placed his order and I did the same "ok, coming right up" the waitress sauntered away and I returned my focus to Dan.

"I can pay for your meal" he offered, I couldn't take a free meal from Dan, that would be wrong of me "no, you're the one who helped me out of this situation I should show my gratitude" I insisted, I wasn't about to take no for an answer "trust me Phil, I want to" I really didn't want him to pay for me but I also didn't want to argue with him so I just let him pay for the meal, what did I do to deserve this special treatment?

After we had finished our meal and Dan payed the bill we both stood up and walked to the exit. "I know this is a bit brash but could I have your number?" I was shocked, someone attractive actually wanted my number for once "of course" he handed me his phone and I typed my number in notes, leaving a little heart emoji at the end.

"I guess I'll see you soon" I mumbled, I was sad to leave, we had an amazing time, well I did anyway. "Not soon enough" I blushed, I know that it was wrong for us to be flirting, I still have a boyfriend after all but I didn't really care, I was going to dump him anyway.

We both stepped out of the restaurant and into the dark streets, I always hated walking home alone at night "Dan.. could you walk me home?" I felt bad asking more of him, he's already done so much for me tonight "Of course".

We both walked back to my flat, talking about our favourite bands and video games. Dan kept complementing me and by the end of our walk my cheeks had turned a deep, cherry red I had blushed so much.

We finally made it to my house and I really didn't want to leave him "promise me we can see each other again?" I didn't want this to be the last time I saw my knight in shining armour "I promise" he held my hand and kissed it gently "goodnight beautiful" I unlocked my door and looked behind me at Dan "goodnight my prince" he started to walk away and I entered my house, shutting the door behind me.
