"Are you ok love? Did he hurt you?" Dan started to look me up and down, clearly concerned for my well being "I'm fine, I just want to go home" I turned away from him and crossed my arms tightly before marching towards the car "no, we're not letting a single idiot ruin our day" I ignored his words and kept walking, all I wanted to do was go back home and cry.
"Please Phil" he sounded like he was about to cry, I stopped moving and just stood in silence "don't be upset 'cause if you get upset then I get upset and then we'll both be miserable" I glanced over my shoulder and saw Dan standing there, glistening tears running down his face. I unfolded my arms immediately and ran to him, embracing him tightly "I love you" I wanted to make him stop crying as soon as possible it pained me to see him like that. "I love you too" we stood there hugging for another 2 minutes before finally separating. I looked deep into dans eyes as I wiped away his tears, he was too beautiful to cry "come on, let's go be nerds" I joked and we both laughed quietly, I love making him laugh.
I pushed the shop door open and as soon as I did I felt a wave of nostalgia and excitement flow through my body, everything here made me smile. "Look! Pop characters!" Dan sped over to a massive wall covered in little pop characters from different franchises and platforms "try and find newt scamander!" I yelled at him jokingly, I forgot all about of the events that had taken place previously and lost myself in my happiness. "I'm going to look at the manga" I notified him before trotting over towards 2 massive bookshelves lined with manga from every genre "ooo, attack on titan.." I picked up a single manga from the third shelf up and started to flick through the pages, catching glimpses of Levi and mikasas faces here and there.
"Can I help you with anything?" A voice asked from beside me and I looked up to see a man with jet black hair, brown eyes and a strong jaw, he also seemed to be even taller than me which is pretty tall. "Oh no, I'm ok thank you" I beamed at him before looking back down at the manga still in my hands "well if you need some help just give me a shout" he nudged me playfully and out of the corner of my eye I saw a little piece of paper fall out of his pocket as he strolled away. Out of curiosity I knelt down and picked the piece of paper off the ground, it had a phone number on it and the words 'call me xoxo'.
I stood back up and stared at the paper in confusion, surely this wasn't meant for me right? I looked up and saw the man dusting off some books, we made eye contact for a brief second and he winked at me before grabbing a couple of books and disappearing around he corner. "Hey Philly! I found newt!" I heard dan coming up behind me so I quickly shoved the paper into my pocket, I'll tell him about it later, I didn't want him to get upset about it now. "Let's see him" he handed me over the box and inspected it, grinning at how adorable it was "I found garnet as well" he handed me another box and I held it in my other hand, I wanted to buy both of them immediately.
"Come on, let's go look at the movies they have" dan tugged the corner of my shirt like a needy 5 year old and pulled me along while I tried to get a better grip on the pop characters that were balancing delicately in my hands. "Ok and then we have to look at the Harry Potter merch" I added, I really wanted to get Voldemort's wand, it just looks too cool not to buy.
"Yes! They restocked all of the studio ghibli movies" dan crouched down in front of a small DVD rack labelled "ghibli movies" and so I kneeled down next to him. "I've got all of them except ponyo" I stared at him in shock "how have you not got ponyo?? He's like the cutest thing ever!" I was genuinely perplexed, as far as I knew dan was a ghibli super fan. "I just never got round to buying it, I have watched it though" that calmed me, for a second I thought he had never watched ponyo before in his life, that would've been tragic. "I'll buy it for you if you want, we can watch it at my house" I offered, I felt like treating him a little bit "yeah ok".
"Hey, I'd like to buy this please" I handed the copy of ponyo to the lady at the register and smiled at her "ok, that'll be £10.50" she stated as she scanned the barcode on the back of the cover, placing it back down on the counter after wards. I handed the money to her and picked up the DVD from the counter "keep the change" I beamed at her before walking out the shop quickly where dan was waiting for me "come on, I wanna watch some ponyo".
