Chapter 3: Dates

Laura was awoken by the sound of knocking at her bedroom door. She got up and opened it up. Vanessa stood there.

"What time is it?" Laura yawned.

"Well I was just waking you up for dinner" Vanessa replied.

"Dinner? I slept that long?" she asked Vanessa.

"Yeah"

"I'm really sorry! I should have helped you!" Laura said, immediately feeling guilty.

"Oh it's okay! It was probably a long day. You deserved it" Vanessa smiled.

"Thanks" Laura said as she walked out of her bedroom and into the kitchen.

"Mmmm! Smells good!" she complimented.

"Thanks. It's spaghetti" Vanessa said.

They sat down at the table and started to eat.

"Have you told mom and dad about the cruise?" Laura asked her sister.

"Yeah they're fine with it. They know that we'll behave" Vanessa answered as she shoved some spaghetti in her mouth.

Laura nodded. The sisters ate in silence until she remembered Ross.

"Hey is it alright if I go out with Ross tomorrow?" Laura asked.

Vanessa nodded.

"Yeah but when you get home, we have to pack."

"Thanks" Laura said.

Rydel put on her black dress with a black vest with sparkles and her combat boots. She brushed her long, blonde hair with strands of sparkles in it. She was getting ready for the movie with Ratliff.

I shouldn't tell everyone though. Riker and Rocky and Ross would probably get mad at me and Ratliff. Rydel thought.

She ran downstairs and walked into the living room, where her mom was.

"Mom I'm going out for a little bit is that alright?" she asked.

Rydel's mom trusted her so she didn't ask.

"Sure just text me when you are coming home" Stormie told her daughter.

"Thanks mom" Rydel smiled and walked out the door.

As soon as she got outside, she called Ratliff.

"Yello!" he answered

"Hey Ratliff it's me can you pick me up at my house?" Rydel asked sweetly.

"Of course I'll be there in a minute" he said and he hung up.

Rydel smiled to herself as she waited. She thought of Ratliff.

Riker was right. They do like each other.

Ratliff pulled up in her driveway and she got in.

"Hey" he greeted her.

"Hello!" she said cheerfully.

They sat in silence as Ratliff drove to the movie theater.

"Would you count this as a date?" Rydel asked Ratliff, breaking the silence. Ratliff smiled.

"I think so. Do you?" he asked back.

"Maybeee" Rydel said, smiling.

"So it's a yes?" Ratliff laughed.

Rydel just giggled in return.

They got to the movie theater and they decided to see The Book Thief. (By the way, great movie😊)

After the movie, Ratliff grabbed Rydel's hand as they walked out of the car. Rydel looked down at her and Ratliff's hand and smiled.

"Is it okay if I do this?" he asked.

"Yeah" Rydel giggled.

"Should we tell your family about this?" Ratliff asked her.

"Not just yet" Rydel simply said.
