Chapter 14: Sinking Ships

Laura woke around 9 o'clock. Her makeup was smeared all over her face from crying. She cried all night about Ross but she knew it was for the best. Laura stretched and yawned. She looked around and realized that Rydel Raini and Vanessa weren't there. Then, she saw the note on the coffee table next to her couch.

Dear Laura,
We're out with Riker, Ratliff, Rocky, and Calum. We've decided to give you and Ross some space. It's colder out, so wear a warmer jacket.

Vanessa, Rydel, and Raini xx

Laura smiled at the note. It was obviously written by Vanessa. She got off her couch and got in the shower. After that, she put on a sweatshirt and some blue jean shorts with black converse.

Laura stepped out of her hotel room and looked around. She really didn't want to run into Carrie or Ross at the moment. When she saw that the coat was clear, she headed to the sky deck to get some breakfast.

Laura ordered some pancakes and sat down at a little table off to the corner. She looked at the sky. It was a bit darker than usual but she shrugged and started eating. All of a sudden, she heard a voice.

"Mind if I sit next to you?" It was Jay. Laura looked up at him. Then, she smiled. "Sure, go ahead." Laura sighed. Jay sat down. He noticed Laura's sadness. "What's wrong?" Jay asked. Laura looked at him and saw true worry in his eyes. She realized that he wasn't like Carrie, trying to steal Laura away from Ross. He actually cared.

"I broke up with Ross." Laura spit out. "Really?"Jay gasped. He touched Laura's hand. She nodded. "I-I thought he loved me..but he obviously didn't." Laura said, breaking down in tears. Jay got out of his seat and hugged her. "It's okay." He said, comforting her. "Hey, let's do something. It will get your mind off of things. It looks like you need a friend." Jay said.

Laura looked at him and smiled. She really did need a friend right now. Laura nodded and got off of her seat. "Alright. What do you want to do?" She said, wiping her eyes.

Laura ended back at the sky deck. She was waiting for Jay, who was getting something out of his room. She was watching the sky, and it was really dark. The wind started picking up. Suddenly, she felt the whole boat lurch. Then, an alarm went off, and she saw R5, including Ross, her sister, Raini and Calum running onto the sky deck. Their faces were filled with worry.

"Attention! Please put on your life vests and head to the sky deck!" A voice came over the boat. Everyone screamed. Riker saw a life boat and decided that they should get off from there instead of dying.

The sky was dark. Everybody was running around crazily.

"Look! There's a safety boat over there!!! Come on" Laura heard Riker call.

They were all watching the sky. Laura took one last glance and turned around. Then something hit her. She would be with Ross. He ran up to her.

"Laura! Please come! I don't want you to die. I know you are mad at me but please come. Do it for the rest of us!" Ross yelled, holding out his hand.

Laura looked at him and ran past him and towards Riker and Vanessa. They were all getting on the safety boat. She was about to get in but then stopped. She had a sudden feeling of déjà vu.

What about Jay? I just can't let him die! Laura stopped.

"Laura get in!" Riker said.

She got in. And sat next to Rydel and Vanessa. There's no going back now. Ross got in and nodded for them to go. Riker started rowing away from the boat. And then they heard thunder.

-last part seem familiar?!? I have a way with dreams😏. So about the SOPA, my mom told me not to worry about it. If they were going to make it illegal, it would be huge bc fanfiction is rlly popular. So I'll be finishing my stories!

Btw, I'm going to b updating less frequently. I'm thinking of updating one story each week. So like this is my last update until 2 weeks. The next Sunday, I'll be updating my folive fanfic.

Laura: Oh my thank you!

She is literally the sweetest person ever. We stood in line @ the autorama for 3 hours but it's totally worth it!
