Chapter 15: A Bit Of Hope

As they rowed away, everyone watched the boat sink. They all felt guilty, leaving everyone in the boat to die. They saw a couple people get away on boats, though.

It started to rain, but Riker had already put the cover up on their boat. The boat was a pretty good size; it allowed everyone to have enough space.

The wind started to pick up and everyone shivered. Rocky got up and found some blankets. He handed one blanket each pair of people. Laura and Raini shared one, Riker and Vanessa shared one, Ratliff and Rydel shared one, Ross and Calum shared one and Rocky got one to himself.

Everyone sat in silence as the stormed raged on. Riker looked like he was praying. "I don't want anyone on that ship to die." He said, speaking up, his head still bowed. Everyone nodded in agreement.

They all heard screams from the boat, even tho they were far from it.

Ross glanced over at Laura, who had her head in her hands. She was obviously crying. He tried not to cry either. Everyone was trying not to cry. He saw a tear run down Riker's face, which he immediately wiped off his face.

Around 5 am, they were all asleep. Suddenly, they hit something. Riker immediately jerked up. The boat stopped, but it was swaying a bit. "Guys! Get up!" He said in a hoarse whisper. Everyone aroused groggily, stretching from their awkward positions.

Riker pulled up the cover on the boat a little and saw that they reached land! "W-we've found land." He said in amazement. Riker lifted of the cover. The sun was starting to rise, so they all could see. Riker got off the boat and into the water, which only came up to his ankles.

He helped everyone out, and pretty soon they were all on land. "Wow, it's really pretty." Rydel said, as she walked around the beach spot. It was a beautiful sight. It was like a perfect beach, but they all knew it was a deserted island. There was palm trees behind the beach, but very little grass.

"Well guys, it looks like we're gonna be hear for a bit." Riker announced.
