A few hours have passed but I am still getting over the shock. At least it's not so bad now. And now I am just calmly eating soup while staring at the television.

"So why am I feeling like this again?" I ask.

"Uh."

"Give me the details!" I say impatiently. They look at each other reluctantly but Adrian speaks up.

"Well, there were a god and goddess named Sol and Luna. They were also known as Day and Night. They had a child, whom they called Orthopheus. They lived in peace for some time, until Luna bore a child. They named him Jodan. While Jodan and Orthopheus were growing up, Orthopheus became jealous of Jodan, seeing as he became more talented and loved by their parents. When they were in their young adult years, their parents had created an animal, a wolf to be exact, to protect the humans if danger ever come to them. Being more loved, Jodan was assigned the task of being the head of these animals. Orthopheus saw this as a way to set up Jodan and make him more important than his brother. So one day, while Jodan was out late and exhausted from work, he offered to take his place so Jodan could rest. Jodan, unaware of his brother's plan, accepted. Orthopheus then took some of the wolves and experimented with them. He took some DNA of a human and mixed it with that of a wolf's, successfully creating a werewolf. He then trained them to become more deadly and vicious instead of being caring and humble. He made them warriors. But most of all, he trained them to eliminate the entire race of wolves who vowed to protect humans. They bred and their numbers grew fast. Jodan and their parents didn't notice the wolves Orthopheus took from them. When Orthopheus was finally ready, ready to start eliminating wolves, a werewolf escaped and went to Luna and Sol and warned them of Orthopheus' plans. His name was Gadiel. Gadiel was pure at heart and didn't approve of Orthopheus' evil scheme. They tried to stop his werewolf army from attacking the wolves but it was too late. There were none left. Sol was so enraged he burned up Orthopheus. He threw his ashes into the deepest pits of the earth. Gadiel was rewarded greatly for his honesty. But most of all, he was given a mate. A mate whom he'll love for only once, his soulmate. Luna and Sol made the werewolves all nice again, and they continued to protect the humans. But some werewolves turned, because they thought that their way of protecting humans is wrong. Thus started the huge feud."

"A lotta details," I joke, still thinking about the story. "But what does that relate to me?"

"You're a Hunter, get a grip!" Dean laughs and holds me by the shoulders and shakes me.

I burst out laughing. They look at me weirdly. It takes me a few minutes to actually get a grip.

"Hunter? How many are there? And what are they?" I ask in just one breath.

"Hunters are trained to destroy the other race of werewolves. But usually Hunters aren't part wolves anymore," Dean frowns.

"But why?"

"There were some... complications." The tightness in his jaw prevents me from asking any more questions into the topic.

"Oh... Will I be like, shooting arrows or something?" I try to lighten the mood.

Adrian cracks a smile. "Maybe. The world's modernized now, we usually use guns."

"'We'?"

"Do you think you would be a Hunter if our parents didn't pass on their gifts to us?"

"Mom and Dad?" My lip quivers a bit, showing signs that I might cry.

"Didn't you ever wonder why they just died?"

I am shocked. So shocked that I am speechless. This never occured to me that I never shut up about something. It's kind of a habit of mine. Talking. Being rendered speechless is a rare feat for me.

"Huh?" I muster to blurt out.

"They were protecting you," Adrian whispers.

"W-what are you talking about?"

"You're the One. The one to finally destroy the other wolves," Dean says with a serious tone. Dean doesn't become serious. What is happening to the world?

"Wolves? They really exist?" I sorta still think that it is a joke. You don't come to a thirteen-year old girl saying wolves exist. It's just plain mad. Not to mention that I'm 'the One'. Whatever that is.

Dean just face-palms and Adrian groans.

"Seriously?" I raise a brow.

"Yes, seriously."

I just run. Run away. I'm a coward. I don't even know why I ran. I just did.

I keep running. Running as fast as my legs would allow. In fact, I run so fast I visualize myself as a cheetah. In the middle of imagining, I accidentally bump into a tree and hit my head hard.

"Ow!"

I feel alright so I just shake away the dizziness and continue to run. It seems to be the only way to escape. Escape what? Escape from my brothers, my mind, even myself. I just want some time to think.

I find a little pond and stop for a while. I rest and went by the treeline to find food. Food is all I could think about now. The last meal I had was hours ago.

I find some berries and clean them by the pond. After enjoying my meal I drink some more water and leave,  knowing that that was the last time I would see the place again.

While I was walking, I hear a twig snap. I freeze in my tracks and slowly back away from the sound. I hear a twig snap at my back and I jump. Another snapping twig at my left. Then right.

I am surrounded.
