"Where's Will?" I ask Travis. He shrugs but his eyes are livid. He probably has had his share of alcohol. I roll my eyes and walk away.

I haven't seen Will yet. I just want to talk to him. He hasn't come out of his chambers ever since Layla's funeral. But I guess he'd come out for his brother. It's not like they hate each other.

I wander around trying to find Will in the mass of werewolves. I spot his golden-bronze hair and make my way to him. Disappointingly, it isn't Will, but someone else. I groan and the guy looks behind his back and sees me. I realize that it isn't just some random guy, but it's actually Austin, Will's mysterious brother. I bow down in respect for him but he stiffens.

"Who are you?" he commands and I feel his power radiating from him. Conversation stops in the room and suddenly all eyes are on us, me mostly.

"Elle." I stutter a bit but look him straight in the eye. He seems taken aback by my defiance but he regains his posture immediately.

"What are you?" he seethes.

"I'm a human, all the time, unlike you guys!" I say too cheerfully and I grin at him. I hear hushed whispers like 'How dare she say that to the new Alpha' and 'Did she just insult us?'. Different voiced out opinions try to penetrate my wall of concentration but I don't mind them. I have a mission. To stare the bloody 'Alpha' down.

He growls but he stops mid-growl. It's as if something's holding him back. Probably his wolf.

I'm about to retort about his holding back but my conscience stops me. I figured the guy would need to survive the night. I smirk at the thought of me wrestling him to the ground.

"Elle, Jace is in his room and he's out cold while muttering about looking for his pet unicorn in--Hey, Alpha Austin. What's up?" Hunter asks as if he wasn't just talking about unicorns. I don't look at him but continue to stare down this so-called Alpha.

"Yeah sure, follow him in Sugarplum Island and make sure he's not harassing unicorns," I say absentmindedly, my golden eyes still locked on Austin's light brown eyes.

"Elle what--Wait, what did I miss?" I don't respond to him and he backs away slowly, sensing the tension between me and Austin.

"Okay, break it off. I don't want to clean today, thank you!" An elderly woman approaches us and slaps us both on the back of our heads. We wince in pain, therefore making us lose our concentration.

"Way to go Trudy!" comes from the crowd.

"You pack a mean punch Trudy," Austin says, a faint smile on his lips.

"I try my best," she curtsies, making the room laugh.

"Okay show's over! Go back to whatever you're doing!" Austin yells, making the others submit to him. Alpha perks, gotta hate 'em.

"I have no time for this," I mutter to myself. I turn my back and continue my search for Will.

"Where are you going human?" I hear Austin's taunting voice.

"To go disinfect my eyes from all your staring!" I holler without even sparing him another glance.

"You were staring at me! I--"

Pissed off by his voice I turn around and get real close to him. If I moved anymore then our noses would touch. I feel him stiffen. "Do everyone a favor, and JUST SHUT UP!"

With a satisfied smirk on my face I walk away without him nagging.

After a trip to the washroom I head back to the party, suddenly hungry. I'm craving for some cake, and they better have some or I'll hunt down the people who didn't think of adding cake to the menu. Which practically makes everyone, now that I think of it.

Luckily there's some cake in a corner. I thought I was going to get my dress dirty.

I grab a slice and and continue to stuff myself. I see Hunter picking at a muffin and laugh when I see an old lady talking to him. Probably lecturing him, as she's wagging her finger at him.

I make my way towards them but am blocked by a barricade of people. "What the heck is up?" I yell over the music.

"Ow, quit shoving me!" I protest to a girl around my age but she keeps dancing to the music. And it doesn't help that I'm carrying a plate of hot-fudge chocolate cake. The kind where syrup still oozes out. I swear, if my dress gets anything on it I am going to kill the girl in her sleep.

Wow, I have a weird way of thinking. I think violently to make myself happy. Maybe I should see a specialist. Probably a psychologist. And I'll throw in checking in a mental hospital. That would be swell.

I trip over the feet of the crowd and I only manage to catch myself and the plate without getting any chocolate on my dress.

"Would you quit bulldozing people down who come near you within a ten-foot radius?" I yell at the stupid girl. It's a good thing I restrain myself from insulting her too much, even though I'm murdering her in my mind.

"Like, what's your deal?" She snaps some gum and looks at me with annoyance.

"Like, you really like, need to stop like, I don't know like, stop being such an insensitive dog!" I spit out in disgust of her.

She looks shocked. "What did you say?" she says cautiously as if she's fighting for control. Werewolves and their dominant wolves. Good thing I'm human.

"You heard me," I taunt her.

"Oh you did not just say that!" She looks at me with disbelief.

I throw my arms up in the air and groan. "Do I have to repeat everything to you?" Deciding I'm not going to get any more of her stupid antics, I sharply turn on my heel and walk away.

Gosh, this is why I hate parties. There are insensitive Alphas who indulge themselves with a staring contest with you and bird-brained girls with a face for a clown who tramples you while you're walking. Yeah, this really is a normal party.

I went to the kitchen to find ice cream. On days like this I only need my daily dose of frozen milk.

I grab a tub of ice cream and sit on the marble counter. I'm enjoying my tub when someone comes in the kitchen and grabs a Coke. I squint to see the guy and see that it's Will.

"Will," I say with a mouth full of ice cream.

He looks startled as if he didn't see me before which is actually impossible as I'm sitting in the middle of the kitchen.

"Elle." He smiles. A real, genuine smile. He pops open his coke and sits beside me.

"Have you met my brother?" he asks and takes a swig from his can. I take another spoonful of ice cream before I answer.

"Yes, and no offense, but I already hate him with a burning passion and I wish he isn't going to be Alpha," I say nonchalantly.

He grins and says, "I bet he'd love to hear that."

"Are you two really related? I didn't see you talking this evening," I ask as I scoop up the few remaining chunks of ice cream. I need more.

He laughs, which I've rarely seen him do ever since... "Yes, hard to believe isn't it? We have always suspected that he was dropped as a baby."

I laugh and he finishes up his drink. He excuses himself and leaves.

Why don't I like Austin? I think as I scrape the ice cream off the edges of the tub.

I AM SOOOO SORRY FOR THE SUPER ÜBER LATE UPDATE! I rewrote this for like a billion times. Oh, and Austin isn’t going to be that jerky Alpha. I hate those stories. The only reason why Austin’s hostile to Elle is because he sensed something wrong with her. I won't tell what Elle's pissed off during this update because... well, she’s on her monthly. Sorry not sorry
