My late updates suck. I know. I suck too.

-------------------------------------------------------------

"Elle! Open this door!" Austin yells and pounds on my door. If he pounds some more, I'm positive the door will break into tiny little pieces. He's been doing this for hours now. He let me cool down for a day before he wants to kill me.

"No!" I yell back. I look like a mess. I have on a tank top and sweatpants, and I'm padding around bare foot with my rat's nest for hair.

"Just open it!" He pounds some more.

"Give me ten reasons why!"

"I..." He stops for a while, probably thinking.

"I'm going to count to ten!" I say, and begin counting.

I'm at six when he finally speaks up. "One, you need to eat! Two, you need water that isn't tap! Three, we have ice cream downstairs! Four, Hunter and Jace miss you! Five, Travis and Will do too! Six, the whole pack misses you! Seven, I miss you! Eight, I'm going to break down this door! Nine, you're probably dying of boredom in there!" I smile at the last one but wipe the smile immediately from my face.

"That's only nine!" I realize.

"Ten, I need you. I miss you. Elle, I love you," his voice going lower every word.

"You what?" I say in disbelief. Hunters and werewolves don't mix, they are made to hate each other. My heart beats fast while he takes in a deep breath, probably thinking up of a response. A few more seconds and my heart would probably explode and they'd be cleaning pieces of me of the wall. (Wait, gross.)

"I love you Elle. I don't know why. Even if you're a..." I hear his hesitation. "One of them, Elle. We're mates, and I don't know why we are, but I'm happy we are. I can't think of anyone better than you." I'm left speechless from his words.

"So please Elle, let me in."

My hands hesitate at thr door knob. "No!" I yell, my fury coming back. "You'll kill me! You'll torture me in front of everyone! I won't!"

"Elle, I'd never hurt you. Never." I hear sincerity from his words.

I find myself being assured by his words. I open the door and see his disheveled state. His hair is messed up and he has bags under his eyes which are blood-shot. His clothes look like a day-old and are wrinkled.

"Oh my god!" We both say at the same time at each other's appearance.

"What happened to you?" I ask in disbelief.

"Same as you, I guess," he says cockily but in a tired voice. He yawns as he runs his hand through his hair and I almost swoon. Don't get me wrong, Austin's messed up, but he still looks good while I look like a walking zombie. Gross.

"Eyeing me up?" He smirks. I understand what he says and I smack him on the arm, hard. He hisses in pain and I smack him again on the other arm.

"Elle!" he cries out in exasperation.

"Hunter reflexes, remember?" I smile weakly.

"Can I come in? I haven't got a proper sleep for a day," he says and pushes past me into my room without my consent.

"What happened to waiting for my answer?" I close the door and he collapses on my bed. He chuckles weakly and closes his eyes. Suddenly my phone rings. My eyes widen when I see the caller ID.

"Who's that?" Austin asks. I jump in surprise; I had forgotten he was there.

"N-no one!" I cry out, assuring him. But it seems like he wasn't assured. At all.
