"Hey Jace," I greet him as he enters the dining hall and sits next to me.
"Don't even talk to me," he sighs and rubs his head. I grin at him and he scowls at me.
"Massive hangover, huh?" I tease and he growls at me in annoyance. I crack up and he groans. Only Jace gets a hangover from drinking punch. We have absolutely no idea why.
"Bacon!" I wave a piece in front of him and he eyes it carefully. I pop the piece in my mouth and he growls, mourning over the loss of a piece of bacon. I chuckle at his behavior. He plants his head face-down on the table while I resume eating.
"Heard there's a new female in the pack." Hunter takes a seat beside me.
"And?" I say, not really listening as I play with my waffles.
"I heard someone's got to show her around." He wiggles his eyebrows.
"And you're telling me this why?" I suddenly pay attention to him.
"You're showing her around," he sings and I smack him upside his head, causing him to choke over the toast he was chewing.
"What is your problem?" he chokes out.
"Why am I touring the new girl around? I'm not even a werewolf!" I protest and he rolls his eyes.
"You're the only available person to do that because everybody's busy either training or securing the perimeter." He takes another bite of toast and chews quickly, probably thinking I'd hit him again.
"Besides, she's a hybrid, not a wolf," he adds.
"Why can't Jace show her around?" I complain pointing to Jace who's still lying on the table.
"Do you really trust anyone with Jace?" Hunter asks with a smirk.
That gets me thinking. "No," I conclude after a long silence.
"I'm right here!" Jace's voice is muffled as he's face to face with the table.
"We know," I reply and I could almost see him rolling his eyes.

A few weeks later I'm touring the new girl. Don't ask me why only now. The new girl had to fix her flight schedules and all that, thus the delay. If you ask me, she's been doing that just to annoy us. She's lucky she was even accepted into the pack. Rarely do packs accept new members who aren't mates of their members.
"This is the dining hall," I say boredly while holding my hands out. Tanya, the girl I'm supposed to tour looks impressed. I resist the urge to roll my eyes because Travis said to be nice and he'd give me ice cream if I manage to not be mean.
"The kitchen." I point to where the kitchen is. "The den." I point across the hall.
"Wow," she says, clearly bewildered by the size of the mansion. She's been saying that for the past half hour.
"And this, is your room," I say in relief as this means I'm free for the day, and I can get my ice cream!
"Thanks for showing me around." She beams and I fake a smile. She's too nice for her own good.
"Sure no prob," I say sweetly, making myself throw up internally of my sweetness.
I leave her and quickly run to Will's old office, hoping to find Travis there. He's been there ever since Will's locked up in this room.
I barge in without knocking and am taken by surprise when I see Austin in the big chair behind the desk.
"Do you ever have manners?" He sighs but I ignore him.
