"You may serve the speed force, Flashette........But I rule it," said Savitar. "You're only a person, but I am a god. Your god....I am Savitar..." He said before Joe broke out from the people holding him back.
"SHOOT IT!" I yelled as he held up his gun.
"I can't se-"
"JUST SHOOT!" I yelled. Joe shot in my direction, but it didn't penetrate Savitar. Instead, Joe turned his attention to Dr Alchemy, who was running out the door. He shot in that direction, but no luck. Dr Alchemy had escaped.
"Let's go for a run...." Savitar suggested. He tightened his grip on me and ran away from the scene. Barry yelled my name, hoping it would do something, but it didn't. Savitar took me for a run in the speed force, occasionally getting a few punches in. After more running, he threw me against the ground, and a familiar smell told me I was by the water.
"Had enough?" Savitar asked, towering over me.
"Not even close," I replied.
I tried speeding over to him, but he stopped me and sent me flying with a kick. Before I landed, he threw me once again and got a good punch to my abdomen. I fell to the ground in pain and struggled to get back up.
"Still alive down there?" Savitar asked. "You're only a shadow beneath my throne. You are the past, where I am," Savitar said before he picked me up and held me by the neck. "The future." His claw came out once again.
Interrupting his ranting, Cisco, Caitlin, and Barry were at the waterfront. They came through a breech and were trying to save me.
"I can't see it," Caitlin yelled.
"Just do it!" Cisco yelled back. She thrusted her palms towards me and froze Savitar in his tracks. It worked for for a moment, before Savitar broke free from the ice, sped away, and released me. I fell to the ground, barely hanging on, and Barry came to my side.
"You're gonna be okay," he spoke to me. Cisco walked over to me, complaining about the use of his powers and I stood up to meet them.
"You okay?" Cisco asked.
"Just cold....." I spoke. "Thanks for coming," I replied before we went to S.T.A.R Labs. Caitlin made sure my vitals were okay, and that everything was all set before I proceeded on.
"And the baby?" I asked.
"Everything's all good. You two are lucky. With all that knocking around you took, the little things just lucky to be alive," Caitlin replied. I smiled and looked at Barry.
"And thank you for using your powers. I know what a risk it was to use them.....You saved my life.....Our baby's life.....I can't thank you enough...."
"You've saved my life plenty of times....Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to check on Wally," Caitlin said before she exited.
"I thought we lost it......And I don't know what I would have done if we did. I'm really try-" Barry spoke.
"I know," I replied before placing a kiss on his lips. When he calmed down enough, and I built up enough strength, we met up with Cisco and HR.
"What was that thing at the waterfront?" Cisco asked.
"And how come only you can see it?" HR asked me.
"Well you're both speedsters....Maybe it has something to do with that...." Barry replied.
"Maybe, but he's more than a speedster....When we were running, it's like we weren't even moving. It was more like BAM we were somewhere different....He calls himself Savitar..." I trailed off before I walked into the medical bay where Wally was.
"How is he?" I asked.
"Alive.....Vitals are subdued, brain function is low......Something you'd see in a coma patient."
"We were in coma's when we got our speed, maybe this has a similar affect........Can we take him out?" I asked.
"Similar to a caterpillar, his body is breaking down before it rebuilds. If we take him out.....I don't know the affect it will have..." Caitlin replied.
"I gotta go. I feel foolish standing here. I have to do something. I don't have the science minds like you do, but I have my detective skills...." Joe said before he left. I could see the guilt in Barry's expression.
"This isn't your fault," I spoke to Barry as I rubbed his back.
"Yes it is," he replied. Barry continued to sulk, and I watched over Wally after Caitlin left.
"What's going on?" Joe asked us as he walked into the medical bay.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Caitlin was at the precinct. She said that Wally was out and okay," Joe replied.
"I didn't even see her leave," Barry replied before I was off. I arrived at the precinct and a detective was giving orders.
"Detective Patterson, what's going on?" I asked as I made my way over to him.
"Chloe, just who I wanted to see. New Metahuman. Female, attacked the precinct, and took Julian hostage."
"Do you know who it is?" I asked. I knew it was Caitlin, but they didn't need to know that I knew.
"No, but she's smart. Took out the security cameras and covered her tracks....We'll get her," Patterson said before he left. I watched the tapes over again and spoke:
"What are you doing, Cait." Eventually, I sped back to S.T.A.R Labs and greeted the team.
"I don't even know why she took Julian. The police are looking for her, and don't know her identity yet. We need to find her before they do......She's not thinking straight....She's becoming-"
"Killer Frost," Cisco finished. "Just like my vibe....As well as her mom. Her mom said that the more she uses her powers, the more she becomes Killer Frost. Saving you must have put her over the edge."
"I tried to locate her phone and Julian's, but nothing...." Cisco said. HR raised his hand and I "called" on him.
"Yes genius! With a million dollar response! Give it a go!" I said.
"You don't call the genius, the genius calls you....If I may, you remember Captain Cold? I've been reading about him in your files, and the MO's of him and Caitlin seem strikingly similar."
"We used the satellite to track ultraviolet cold signatures," Cisco said before getting the idea. We all crowded around the computer and watched as Cisco's fingers danced around the keyboard. The screen zoomed in on one dot, and we got her location.
"Frozen Food warehouse...Isolate the feed so no one knows I'm going," I said before I suited up and sped away. Barry followed.
We came in on Caitlin and Julian. His computer was on the ground, smashed, and she was threatening him with ice radiating from her hands.
"What are you doing?" I asked in Caitlin's direction. She was about to blast Julian and I moved him away. He was blabbering at me, so I clocked him, and he fell to the ground.
"You don't need to be here....Go Away!" Caitlin yelled.
"I can't do that....This isn't you.... You don't want to hurt people. What are you doing?" Barry asked.
"I need to find Alchemy......I need him to reverse my powers..." she said in her Killer Frost tone.
"It doesn't work that way. You need to stop this. We've been through too much to give up now.....End it here."
"You don't know if it doesn't!" She replied. "You keep messing with everyone's lives, and we're all here to pick up the pieces after you. Sometimes when you break things, they can't be put back together. But Alchemy can fix me....Help me...."
"Let me help you...." I replied.
"Like how you helped your parents?
....Wally?...Cisco?....All you did was mess up everyone else's lives. Think about Dante and Cisco....." She said looking up at the cameras. "Did you know Dante was alive, Cisco? Before Barry created Flashpoint, he was happy and healthy......Alive.....It's their fault he's dead." At that moment, the police were in the building and began to fire.
Caitlin was about to blast them, before I sped her away. I sped her to one of the back storage areas and Barry stayed back to talk to the police. I set Caitlin down and checked to make sure it was clear.
A sharp pain erupted from my leg, and I turned to see Cailtin, who had jabbed me with an ice spike.
"That severed your triceps surae, it will take 4 hours to regenerate, even with your healing....Don't follow me," she said before exiting.
"Caitlin!" I yelled, trying to stand up. I fell to the ground in pain. I pulled out the spike, and leaned up against a nearby crate. Barry came eventually, and sped me to S.T.A.R Labs. They got me a medkit, and I wrapped up my leg.
"How much does it hurt?" Barry asked.
"As much as I deserve. That's what I get for trying to help. I should have stayed away," I replied.
"You did the right thing."
"Albert's still at County General. He's out cold... How hard did you hit him?" Joe asked, walking into the room.
"It wasn't my intention to knock him out and send him to the hospital..." I replied, standing up.
"About what Caitlin said, Cisco...."
"Was she lying?" He asked.
"No.....I'm sorry..."
"I don't know how to feel right now....All because of Flashpoint....All because...You Did This...." Cisco said with a tear escaping his eye. A serious expression suddenly took over his face. "All I know is that my friend is out there and we need to find her....Can we do that?" Cisco asked. I nodded. "I hacked Julian's computer. She made him look up Savitar, and it came up with two addresses-" Cisco said, walking over to his computer.
"They must be his followers..."
"She thinks that one of the two could lead her to Alchemy...We'll have to go to both of these places.
"I'll G-" I tried to say.
"Chloe and Barry, you stay here. I'll go to Hothwin-" Cisco said.
"And I'll go to Truman!" HR yelled. HR took Joe with him and they were off.
"If you find her," I said to Cisco.
"I won't call.....You've done enough," he said before he left.
Barry and I sat in the medical bay, waiting for something to happen. Something did, but it wasn't good. An alarm was blaring, and I went as fast as I could to get to the cortex.
"It's the satellite. The spike in temperatures is the street Cisco is on....Let's go...." I said before I sped into my suit and we sped to Cisco.
When we arrived, Cisco and Caitlin were in the middle of a heated battle. Barry and I hid behind a truck and waited. Barry sped to Cisco, and I sped to Caitlin. I fell to the ground, and fell at Caitlin's feet.
"How's the leg?" She asked. With one swift move, I had her down on the ground next to me.
"That was cold, Flashette....But this is colder," she said before she hovered above me. She placed a hand to my check and I froze instantly. Cisco blasted her, and she shot from above me. She landed on a car, and Barry came over to me while Cisco got Caitlin.
"Start vibrating, it'l warm you up," he said before I phased. In a few seconds, I was back at normal temperature and Barry sped me to S.T.A.R Labs. When I warmed up, we all met Killer Frost in the pipeline.
"Phew....I guess all I needed was a little sleep...But you can let me go now...She's gone.....I'm not gonna hurt anybody," she said with her still glowing eyes and her Killer Frost tone. I shook my head. "You're much smarter then I thought....That was some blast Vibe-Boy."
"Alchemy can't help you....I promise.." I said.
"Like how you promised Eddie? Or Ronnie? For a hero, you let a lot of people you love die."
"This isn't you....It's the powers.....It's messing with your mind...You're sick...."
"I'm broken, Chloe.....But what do you care? You've got Barry....You've got a child.....You've got family.......Everyone else be damned....Let me go, and I'll leave you to yourselves....Your sad and miserable lives...."
"We're not abandoning you...." I replied.
"YOU DID THIS TO ME!" She yelled. I locked the pipeline cell and almost everyone left. Cisco and I stayed behind.
"Can you fix this?" I asked. "I there a way to reverse it?"
"Like she said, sometimes when things are broken, they can never be fixed...." He replied. He left me in the pipeline to think. I sat on the steps like usual, and Barry eventually joined me.
"What are you doing down here?" He asked.
"We should be looking for Alchemy, but instead we're fighting with each other."
"Team Flashes isn't at its finest."
"Why did I follow you? Why did you run? Why didn't I just bring you into the house."
"I was broken....So much loss....I wanted it back....That's why Cisco and Cailtin are so lost...." Barry replied.
"Those are my best friends....One locked up like a villain, and the other, hates me."
"How would you have known Dante would've gotten in a car accident? How would you have known Caitlin was affected by the accelerator? We're humans, not Gods. Everyone in this building needs you right now. Be strong like I know you are," said Barry. I was looking down, and he tilted my head upwards. I leaned in, and we almost kissed until the lights flickered.
"Wally!" I yelled as I sped upstairs.
"There's been an energy surge," Cisco explained as we walked into the cortex.
"Joe? What are you doing?" Joe was attempting to set Wally free. "You can't let him out!"
"I have to," he said before he continued to cut open the shell. I had a bad feeling, so I acted fast.
"Joe! Don't!" I yelled before I sped everyone to safety. The cocoon exploded, and we stood up when it was clear. Wally was standing in the middle of the cortex. He was phasing........
"Wally?" I asked before he sped away. I was in shock.
"What did you do?" I asked Joe.
"I'm trying to track rapid movement across the city and I'm not getting anything," Cisco said, his fingers typing furiously.
"We have to find him....I'm just afraid of what will happen when we do.....He wasn't all there....We need a biochemist....." I said to the team.
"What you need is to go talk to her. She'll know what to do.." Joe said. I knew he was taking about Caitlin, and I agreed. I whipped up a plan as I walked down to the pipeline. When I was ready, I opened the door, and spoke:
"I need your help, Caitlin. Wally's out of the cocoon, but his biochemistry's outta whack. You have to help him.."
"So you came to talk some sense into me?" She asked.
"What he needs is Caitlin Snow....Not Killer Frost.......I came down here not to talk sense into you, but to let you go." I opened her cell door. She stepped out and stopped.
"What's the catch? For a smart girl, that seems like something you won't allow."
"No catch, you're free to go. But if you want to leave this room, you have to kill me," I replied.
"Don't think I won't," she said before she lifted her hand and formed an ice crystal. She lifted it over my heart. I noticed she was hesitant.
"What's wrong? It's just a simple task.....What are you waiting for? Live up to your name Killer Frost. You wanna be a villain, this is what they do. They kill their friends and feel no remorse....Because nothing really matters, Right?" I asked stepping closer, the spike now poking my chest. Her eyes glowed, and she occasionally looked away. "You can't do it......Face it.....Underneath all that cold, you're still you." With that, the glowing eyes went away. The crystal fell from her hands and she fell into my arms. She began to sob and I comforted her. When she was ready, I took her upstairs to help with Wally.
"When you extracted him early from the cocoon, it left him in a fluke state. His muscles and mind aren't used to functioning at super speed," Caitlin said waking over to a cabinet. She pulled out and vile. "I've contracted something that will help his mind and body run at the same speed."
"Now we just need to find him...."
"We're did he go, Joe?" HR asked. "What is your gut telling you?."
"The house he grew up in...." Joe suggested.
"Keystone....." I said before I took the vile from Caitlin. Barry and I suited up and we sped to the location.
"Wally! It's your dad, son....We're gonna take care of you, okay?" Joe asked. Wally looked in his direction and I sped over to inject Wally with the serum. He stopped phasing and looked at Joe.
"Dad," he said before collapsing into his arms. Joe brought him to S.T.A.R Labs, and I followed.
We ran some tests on Wally, and I watched in amazement as he sped along the track.
"He's going faster than Chloe and Barry did when they first started." Wally stopped running and met us on the ground.
"That was the greatest feeling I've ever felt!.....The feeling is unreal....Like I can do anything.....It feels like everything is buzzing electrically......How fast was I going?" Wally asked.
"Too fast," Joe replied. "Caitlin's gonna run every test possible on you."
"I'm fine, dad......When do I get to go out with them?" Wally asked.
"Let's take it one normal-speed step at a time," I replied, patting his shoulder. Joe got a call and answered his phone.
"It's the hospital, Julian's awake."
"He knows who I am, he saw me do it," Caitlin said worriedly.
"We'll talk to him," I said before going off and finding Cisco.
"Listen, you're one of Barry and I's best friends, are we going to be okay?" I asked him. He stopped tinkering and turned around in his chair.
"If I'm being honest, I don't know," he said before he turned back around, and I walked out. I decided to go to the hospital to patch up things with Julian. Detective Patterson was going into Julian's room, but I stopped him.
"I just wanted to see if Julian was okay, one coworker to another. We are close....We're in the same department and-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Patterson said before allowing me to go in.
"A hospital visit, I didn't think you'd miss me that much......" Julian greeted.
"What did the doctor say?" I asked.
"Concussion and frost bite...Your friend Caitlin.....She's a meta....And not one of the good ones..."
"She's sick."
"She's a bloody menace. She did this to me....." he said before standing. "I know you're really here because of her. Don't think I'm gonna cover it up, just because you think friendship is worth more than justice."
"What if I did something? Anything? She's a good girl, and she didn't mean any of the things she did," I said. He hesitated.
"Well I did fall pretty hard, I seemed to have lost who kidnapped me..." said Julian, scratching his head.
"Thank you!" I replied.
"Now for my end. You and Barry write your resignation letters tonight. I want you out of the lab."
"What?" I asked.
"I understand the tardies, but I hate how you get away with everything. The
Allens don't deserve a spot in the CSI crime department." I nodded.
I left the room and left Julian to Detective Patterson. I waited until Julian gave his statement, and called Barry on my way to CCPD. I told him about the lab situation and he understood. He came to collect his stuff, as I did mine.
"I just heard from Captain, what are you doing?" Iris walked in, followed by Joe. "What is going on? You quit?"
"We didn't have a choice. Julian was going to rat out Caitlin and we couldn't let that happen. In turn for keeping it a secret, I told him we would quit. He told me we couldn't protect Caitlin and be good CSI's. Maybe he's right..."
"He's wrong. This lab is your life. No one cares more about helping people then you guys. Long before you got your powers."
"These past few months have showed me that I would do anything to keep my friends safe. This is one of them. I'm not giving up on my friends...."
"You always have more ways than one to prove you're heroes," Joe said before he hugged Barry and I. Joe and Iris left and Barry and I finished collecting our stuff.
We stopped in the entrance of the lab and took in all the memories that were made. So many hugs and kisses.....So many family moments.....So much Charry.....So much happened in this lab, and it was sad that we had to give it up......A tear left my eye and I gripped tighter on my box of stuff. I carried it out to the car and met the team at S.T.A.R Labs.
"It's over......full time Flashes now......" I said as we walked in.
"Since you're full time, you have a lot more room in your schedule. I remember you saying something about the baby this week..." Caitlin said.
"Could you--Could we do it now?" I asked. Caitlin nodded. I ran excitedly over to the medical table and laid down. Barry sat down next to me, and Caitlin joined us in the room.
"You can come if you'd like, uncle Cisco," I replied. He chucked, and stood next to Caitlin.
