Barry and I had done it. We had created a perfect world. A world where we were both whole. Our parents were alive and well, and we had no worries. We were just normal people to the city.
Barry and I were at Jitters. We were sharing a cup of coffee and enjoying each others company. The news came on and we directed our heads to the screen:
"Hello Central City! We have the latest on Central City's newest metahuman: "The Rival." But not to fear, our own Kid Flash is on the case...." Barry and I smiled and walked out the door, forgetting our cups on the table. We followed that burst of lightning that passed by and met it at an intersection. We stood and watched as Kid Flash battled his Rival.
"What do you have against my city?" He asked.
"I'd say it's just fine. It's the people in it who need to be educated. And I have NO RIVAL! Especially not you," the Rival said. He than began to speed around in a circle and shoot lightning. Barry and I were still watching and Kid Flash took notice. He sped us out of the way of all the chaos.
"You okay guys?" He asked.
"Yeah, thanks!" We replied. We went back to Jitters to get more coffee and see if we could meet some friends.
As soon as we walked in, Iris was working on her CCPN article. I walked up first and tapped her shoulder.
"Excuse me," I said as she turned around.
"Hi, who are-"
"I'm Chloe and this is my fiancé Barry. We've been seeing you around a lot. We went to elementary school together. Mr Hinckley's class...."
"Oh yeah, he'd always bang his fist against the chalkboard and make the desks go flying..."
"Yeah...how are you?" She asked us.
"Good. We work at CCPD. We work in the CSI department..."
"Oh...yeah...my dad works there too."
"Joe...yeah...we see him all the ti-" Barry said before I kicked his leg. "Sometimes...I don't really known him or anything about him or..."
"Barry....you know...you should talk just a little bit slower....." Iris said.
"Speed has always been his problem," I replied before we headed over to CCPD.
"What's new on The Rival?" The Captain asked.
"Not much. No skin or hair samples left anywhere he's been."
"So no way to ID him, I see...." he said looking out his window. He stood up and spoke out the door.
"Has anyone seen Detective West?" Captain asked. Everyone replied with a shake of their heads. The captain sighed.
"I'm sure he has the stuff......" Barry said covering for Joe. The captain replied with a point to the door and we were excused from work that day.
Barry and I then picked up dinner at Big Belly Burger and decided to bring a snack over to one of our friends.
When Barry and I went back in time, he brought the Reverse Flash with him. With my help, he created a type of storage place to keep him. Similar to what Zoom did to me when I was kidnapped.
"Dinner," Barry said as he walked in, swinging the bag.
"There better be curly fries in there," The Reverse Flash replied.
"Human beings can go 3 weeks without food, so I'd sound a bit more grateful if I were you."
"You wouldn't do that to me Barry, you guys are the heroes. Or did you forget that? Too busy living your perfect life.....Say, what should we call this new world that you've created for us? I'd say......"Flashpoint."
"So you don't want this?" Barry asked. I ripped the bag out of his hands and held it for myself.
"You may have trapped me now, but I will break out of this glass cage and I will destroy your perfect life."
Barry turned his head for a second and replied: "That's when you're wrong. You're never getting out of here and you're never gonna hurt anybody ever again. We have everything you took back from us.......everything Zoom took.....we're free....free from you and Zoom....free from all the meta's and the Flash troubles...we're finally whole......we're home...."
"This isn't your home. This is nearly a replica. A mirage. Simply a fiction. And the repercussions will come for all of us if our don't let ME OUT OF THIS THING!"
"Why would we want to leave? Why would we let you out of here? We're complete here. Everything we got taken away is back. Our parents......our life......we don't even have to be The Flashes right now because there's on-"
"And speaking of....who is this young speedster? Do you even know? While he's out there, you're sitting here hiding. But do you know what? Our common enemy is coming for us both and will catch up to you. You may run fast, but time will catch up. No matter his fast you run. You can't run from it. It's already screwed up everything and it will take me and everything you ever loved with you."
"You have some nerve telling me that I'm messing with peoples lives. YOU KILLED OUR PARENTS!! Our friend.....you killed our chance to have a perfect life. But we have it back. And we're not gonna let you take that from us as well......" I said throwing his food down and storming out of the faculty. The Reverse Flash said something as I was walking out and I turned on my heel and replied.
"He did this because of you. Everything you did. You killed our parents and now they're alive. Everything's perfect now!"
"Oh, but little princess, some day you're gonna beg me to kill them again," said Eobard. Barry met me with fire in his eyes and I stormed out of the facility. Barry came out after wards and met me.
"It's okay, he's just trying to get in your head. How about we go visit the in-laws?" Barry asked. His hand met mine and our fingers intertwined. I gave him a kiss before we headed off to the Allen's house. His parents were out the door and we met them as they were heading out.
"There's my beautiful boy!" His mom said.
"Hey Slugger," Henry said. My parents emerged from their house as well.
"We were just having a little get together with Chloe's family. I mean we are going to all be one family."
"Yeah.....we are," I said taking Barry's hand and resting my head on his shoulder. His mom cooed:
"How cute!" She said putting her hands together. "When are we gonna have some little Barry's running around, huh?" Nora asked. Barry blushed and Henry spoke:
"Nora, they got engaged not too long ago. They have a wedding to plan and-"
"Actually, very soon," I replied. I wasn't going to tell Barry this way, but our parents were all here and I thought it would be a good time. His parents clapped and cheered, Barry hesitated for a second. But he snapped back into reality within a few seconds and realized what was going on.
"I'm gonna be a dad!" He repeated. He then pulled me in for a passionate kiss and we continued the celebration. We had a party and spent the night celebrating this joy.
The next morning, Barry insisted that we get up quick and greet his parents at the table. We are a quick breakfast before heading off to CCPD.
"Has anyone seen Detective West?" Captain asked as we walked through the door.
"He's propably still on the case...you know...." I said while backing away slowly. Barry disappeared with Captain and I took care of some business of my own.
I opened the door slowly and waited for a reaction. I waited for a few seconds before entering.
"Joe..." I whispered softly. No reply. I walked against the wooden floorboards, trying to make as less creaking as possible before I closed the door. I walked over to the living room to see a passed out Joe on the couch.
"Oh no," I spoke. Beer bottles had been scattered around the room, trash covered the floor, and he didn't look so good as well. He clearly hadn't showered in days, as well as shaved. His clothes were covered in stains and he had a candy wrapper lying on his chest.
"Joe..." I whispered. He stirred. He woke with a cough and I decided to help him out. I sped him through his morning routeen: Shower, Cofee, Dressed, and out the door he went. I brought him to the elevator. He was practically falling asleep as it went up.
"Detective West. You look full of energy this morning," I said sarcastically. "What brings you here so early?" I asked.
"Had a lot of Cofee," he replied holding up his cup.
"I see," I said before the bell rang and we made it to our floor. We just so happened to meet Barry.
"Where have you been? I've been looking everywhere for-" Barry said as I pulled him into the elevator.
"Look, Joe isn't the same as...our...real...time...he's worse. Definitely not the one we know. And we're lucky I came up with a plan because I just saved his ass."
"Yes, and I thank you for that. Now, how about a walk downtown?" Barry asked.
"I'd love that!" I replied. I put my hand on Barry's arm and grabbed it. But at that same second, something happened. Memories....of Barry and I. Replayed in my head, and then faded away. Similar to when Cisco vibes.
"Chlo, are you okay?" Barry asked me.
"Yeah....just thinking......." I replied before we were off downtown.
We spent most of or time in sprees, debating whether or not to buy things. We bought a few things and we're heading back home when we heard some chaos. Police cars flew down the street and one cop came running out of a building.
"Hey, what's going on?" Barry asked the cop before she got into her car.
"Kid Flash and The Rival are at it again," she said before she got in her car and drove away. Barry and I followed and met at the location. There we could see Kid Flash and The Rival going at it, speeding all around the outside and inside of the building.
But Kid Flash seemed to be thrown off guard because he was now falling fast down the side. I sprung into action and spun my arms towards him. My cyclone worked for a few seconds before stopping and I stumbled. But luckily, Kid Flash had landed in a dumpster.
I immediately ran over to make sure he was okay. But I was surprised by what I saw. I could see the identity of Kid Flash. And I took the mask off just to make sure.
"Wally?" I asked with a smile. He woke up at that second and spoke:
"Who are you?" He asked before speeding away. I helped him out of the dumpster and he put his mask back on.
"Follow me," he said before speeding away. He brought us to his house and unexpectedly, Iris was there.
"How did you know it was me? I've never seen you before. I don't know you-"
"We're CSI's. We know everybody we have to know everybody."
"And why do you know so much about him? Is the only reason why you became friends with me was because you somehow knew my brother was The Flash."
"No, that's not it at all. Tell me Wally, how exactly did you get your speed?"
"Before I became The Flash, I used to drag race cars. One night I was working on this special motor that would make it run really fast. But as I was testing it out, I got caught in a bad storm. The car got struck by lightning Andy was in a coma for 9 months," he said before Barry and I shared a glance.
"But enough about me. We need to stop The Rival."
"And if you need help, we are willing," I said. Barry nodded.
"I think there's only one man that can help us now........Cisco Ramon."
And with that, we were off to "Ramon Industries." What was "S.T.A.R Labs" has been taken over by Cisco, the richest man in America.
"Excuse me, you told me you'd never come back. And you bring these two with you. Why are you here?"
"Cisco......Mr Ramon, they need help on catching The Rival."
"Oh, so you bring them into my lab and tell them you're on team Flash," Cisco said.
"If you don't mind, they need your help. Deep down I know you care. You care about helping people. Like that time your brother Dante couldn't pay for a book he owed. You gave him all the money you made that summer delivering pizza's...."
"How do you know about that?" He asked.
"Let's just say I know the kind of person you are. I know that we're meant to work together as a team....to be friends...--" I said before I had another moment. A killer headache came before I closed my eyes and saw memories again. Memories of Barry, Cisco, Caitlin, and I. But they all faded away.
"What's wrong with you?" Iris asked me.
"I'm not sure," I replied before telling Barry to stay with Cisco. I had to get some questions answered.
"What's happening to me?" I asked storming into the facility. The Reverse Flash was sitting against the wall of his cage. "I see a memory of my past and than I forget it....."
"Flashpoint......it's a side effect....the world you created is now overriding the one we know. Pretty soon, all of that will fade away and you'll be left with everything here. The past 26 years of your life will be gone. Unless......"
"WHAT?" I asked impatiently. The Reverse found it funny and began to laugh hysterically:
"Your speed....--The more you use it....the faster your memories fade away!"
"No...you're lying...how can I trust anything you say?"
"Soon you'll forget you're Flashette. And than this world becomes permenent. If this occurs, time will never be able to go back to the way it was. You know what you just do. You must let me out and take me back to that night. I must finish what I started" Eobard said as I walked towards the door and slammed it on my way out. I then sped on my suit and grabbed Wally and Iris.
"Who...who are you?" Iris asked. Cisco took off his glasses, rubbed them on his shirt, and took a double take.
"I'm the person who's gonna help you stop The Rival," I said before lifting my mask off.
"Chloe?" Iris asked with a look of confusion. Barry sped in after me and took his mask off as well.
"Barry?" Wally asked. I swear, Cisco almost passed out after Barry entered. After explaining ourselves, we came up with a plan.
"Why are you telling us this now?" Iris asked.
"We've been hiding here too long. We stop bad guys and we can all if we work together....but we're missing something...." I said before I sped away. I returned with Dr Snow.
"What did I tell you about bringing strangers into my lab?" Cisco asked.
"Where am I?" Caitlin asked nervously.
"We need your help."
"Have I been kidnapped?" She asked.
"No, you're a doctor, you're gonna help us."
"I'm not a doctor. I'm a pediatric Optometrist." I pulled Barry aside and talked with him. She we came back, the team was already at work.
"We reversed the cameras in the city to now report/monitor velocital drops and spikes. And here's one by the old saw mill. Go get 'em." He said before we were off.
We sped to the location and went over the plan. But we were interrupted by The Rival.
"So there's three of you now....is that supposed to scare me off......here's how scared I am of you....." he said before taking off his mask. "Edward Clariss. I thought Rivals should know each others names. You're just a pretender," he said pointing to Barry and I. I turned away and smiled.
"I got him. I can take him," Wally said before he went at it with the Rival. He managed to get him to the ground. He thought the fight was over, but the Rival came back quick and stabbed him in the chest.
"Wally!" I yelled running over to him.
"Now, it's me or you help your little friend," The Rival said.
"You're gonna be the one that needs help," I said before I charged at him. We went at it: on top of buildings, up and down, in all directions.
I had another flashback. More memories of me saving the day, gone. That gave The Rival a chance plot his next move. And it was a big one.
"See how you handle this, Flashette," he said before he created 2 ginormous cyclones. At first, I didn't know how to stop it. But I remembered my very first mission with Clyde Mardon. I started at the eye and made my way up. I sped around the first funnel, going in the opposite direction to counter the first. And when that was down, I moved into the second one. Repeating the same process, I was able to get rid of both cyclones.
"Impossible," The Rival said as I met him. I stumbled and he was about to attack when I heard a gunshot. Edward fell and Joe stood behind him.
"It's Wally, he's in trouble," I said before I met the team at Ramon industries.
We stood over Wally's body:
"His vitals are really low and he's lost a lot of blood. There's a low chance he'll make it," Caitlin said. Barry and I looked at each other and knew what we had to do.
First we went to say goodbye to our parents. We weren't going to ever be back and I cherished the 3 months of what seemed like heaven I had.
Then went back to that small facility.
"We need to get out of here. Go back to the way things were. You know what you have to do."
"So do I. But I want you to say it."
"I.....I need you to go back to that night and kill our parents," I said before Barry opened the door and The Reverse Flash burst out. I fell to the floor and more memories flooded in.
"You're so lucky I can't kill you right now. You're so weak!" he said before he picked me up and sped so fast that the portal opened. Barry followed and we were back to that night.
The Reverse Flash had moved on from killing Barry's mom and he was off to my house. I fought him hard and I stopped him for a second.
"You're safe now," I said to my parents before the Reverse Flash came up behind me.
"I'm not so sure about that," he said before we sped around my parents.
I cried knowing what was going to happen and in a matter of seconds, we were taken to the correct timeline.
"We're back It's too bad we couldn't stay in paradise any longer," I said to Barry.
"Anywhere is paradise when I'm with you."
"Aww, Bar," I said giving him a kiss. He smiled and we headed inside.
"Are you guys alright? Joe asked. "You've been outside for a while."
"We are now," I replied.
"Well, you're suffering another loss so I don't expect you to be."
"Yeah....But we'll get through it." I said taking Barry's hand. "To Henry," I said before we all held up our glasses. After we drank, I spoke:
"Where's Iris?" I asked. Joe gave me a stern look.
"They don't talk anymore. You know that."
