"Morning, Bar," I said as I rolled over and looked at his sleepy face. His nose was crinkled and he yawned as he rolled on his back. "Good sleep?" I asked as Barry smiled.
"Good dreams," Barry said with a wink. "How could I not have good dreams after last night's-"
"We gotta get up, dream boy," I said as I got up out of bed and fixed my half. I proceeded to finish my morning routine while Barry still lay in bed. When I finished, I walked downstairs into the kitchen and began to whip up something for breakfast. I could hear Barry slowly walking down the stairs, and just as he made his way through the living room to the kitchen, I turned around and handed him his plate. He greeted me with a kiss, and hugged me before sitting down and eating his meal. After Barry got dressed and we were ready to leave, we headed out.
"Her name is Tracy Brand," I said, holding out the little device as it projected a holographic image of Tracy and her accomplishments. "She's one of the world's top theoretical physicists you know, or at least she will be."
"No kidding," said Cisco. "Girl Scout earns her merit badges. 2021 Nobel Prize...Copley Medal..Presidential commendation...She's a genius, but what's that to us?" He asked. "We got plenty of those here."
"She's the key to stopping Savitar," said Barry. "Future me said that four years from now, Dr. Brand invents the technology that traps Savitar in the Speed Force...Four years too late."
"Yeah, but if she invents the tech then, then maybe she's working on the prototype now," pointed out HR.
"That's exactly right, so we should find her!"
"Agreed."
"Sorry, but why are we not looking for Caitlin again?" Julian asked, sitting up in his chair.
"Easy, Romeo and Juliet. None of us have forgotten about Caitlin."
"Right, but future Flash already confirmed that she teams up with Savitar...We should be doing everything in our power to stop that from happening."
"We know!" We all yelled in unison to Julian.
"What is Wally doing swanning off to Earth-3 to be with his girlfriend? He could be here right now looking for her. It's like no one's doing a thing."
"No one's doing a thing?" I repeated.
"We've searched the city half a dozen times...Every chance I get, I try to vibe where she is...We're using facial recognition technology...We're using the meta-human app...the satellite...We're doing everything we can."
"I just want her back, okay?" asked Julian. He sat back down and buried his face in his hands.
"Yeah, well, if you wanted her here so badly, maybe you shouldn't have ripped off that necklace and turned her into a killer."
"Cisco, C-" I said before I was interrupted by a beeping sound from Cisco's computer. Cisco walked over to his computer, typed in a few things, and gave us the news:
"We got a hit." He pulled up the information on the monitors: "Tracy Brand, currently enrolled in CCU's Theoretical Physics program." I studied her page and looked at all her data.
"So our hopes of defeating an evil speed god hinge on a grad student?" I asked.
"Yup."
"Could be worse," I replied.
"BA, CA, Cisco, let's do this," HR said before putting on his hat. After that, we were out the door.
We travelled to CCU and got past the front desk (telling them we needed a student's input for a case). We got Tracy's room number and waited outside.
"Ahh, the soul-sucking fluorescence," HR noticed about he lights ahead. I slapped his arm and he was back to the task at hand. When we reached the room, we peeked through the small glass window of the door and saw a student working inside.
"That must be her."
"Do you guys smell that?" Barry asked as we remained in the hall.
"Toast?"
"No, Fire!" HR exclaimed as he opened the door of the room, grabbed the fire extinguisher that was hung in the hallway, and rushed through the door. He pointed it at the small flame that was ignited in a little fire-pit like structure. The student was startled, and we came in to make sure she was okay.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! What are you doing?" The student asked as she pulled off her goggles and placed the equipment from her hands down.
"Saving you from a painful, fiery death," HR said as he placed the fire extinguisher down on the table.
"I had it under control," she said, taking off her gloves and crossing her arms.
"Did you set the fire on purpose?" I asked. "This doesn't look like a physics assignment to me."
"Yes, I'm burning everything...All my work--" she replied.
"Everything? What--Why?" I asked, digging through the papers for anything useful.
"Well, I don't know why they call it 'work,' because none of it works."
"This isn't exactly what I expected," I whispered in Barry's ear.
"Um, Dr. Brand?" Cisco asked.
"Oh, no....Just Tracy...I failed my dissertation...Nothing like ten years down the drain and a pile of debt as a legacy."
"Tracy, uh, w-we were just hoping that you'd have a moment to talk," HR stuttered.
"Oh, no! My bus leaves in five minutes," she said, looking at her watch. "Oh, please tell me I didn't burn my bus ticket!" She said, scouring through the ashes.
"Your bus? Where where are you going?" Barry asked.
"Big Belly Burger," she replied, picking up her belongings. "I hear they're hiring."
"What? You're seri--What about all your research?" I asked.
"You mean my 'unsubstantiated and transactional' inquiry into the 'purely suppositional' nature of extra-dimensional energy?" She asked.
"Yes!" We all replied.
"A waste of time, or, as Dr.
Hersh puts it, 'A total misapplication of the university's resources'....I might as well start practicing, 'Do you want fries with that?'."
"Yes," HR replied, infatuated by the sight of her.
"No."
"Look, don't let the naysayers get you down...Your doubts, they're traitors...Don't believe them...
Your mind is too fine to waste turning tubers into finger chips."
"Finger chips?" Tracy asked.
"There's, like, a--"
"He's from out of town," I replied, pushing HR to the side. "But look, from one scientist to another, it's not an easy profession. You shouldn't give up now!" Barry nodded and continued:
"Your work on relativistic quantum mechanics and its application to inter-spatial theory to manipulate matter on a subatomic level, it's groundbreaking."
"I haven't shared that hypothesis with anyone, other than my therapist," said Tracy to herself. "Who are you?" She asked. "I didn't remember anyone asking to--"
"We're therapists," said HR. At that moment, crackling was coming from the other side of the door, and we later found the cause. Killer Frost burst through the door as her hands radiated with frost.
"Admission here is so easy," she said with a grin. "I'm surprised they let the geek squad in."
"Get her out of here!" Barry yelled before I pushed HR, Cisco, and Tracy behind a nearby table.
"Get her somewhere safe," I said before Cisco nodded. Cisco proceeded to whisper to the team while I quickly thought of an escape.
"So you've gone full-on Killer Frost, huh?" Cisco asked, peeking his head above the table. I gave him a glare, and he didn't take the hint I was giving. "New threads and everything?"
"No more pencil skirts for me...I don't want to hurt you," she said, preparing to fire.
"You won't," I said through gritted teeth.
"But I will hurt her," Killer Frost said, pointing to Tracy. She fired a blast toward the table, and the team was able to successfully make it to another table as I dodged the blast. Cisco then shot up from the table and shot a vibe blast at her. She flew across the room and against the glass door. Glass shattered and I turned to the team.
"That's gonna leave a mark," said Cisco, looking over at his evil friend.
"LET'S GO!" I yelled as Barry and I escorted the team out of the college. CCPD came to "clean up" the scene, and I brought Tracy to CCPD. Barry and I walked up to the lab and had a discussion before we were called down to the precinct.
"That's definitely her, Detective.
Icy eyes and all," said Tracy as she finished her discussion with the sketch artist.
"So I'm gonna spread this around so everyone knows to look for her," Joe said, taking the picture. Tracy looked up at him and perked up at she saw us coming around the corner.
"Uh, can you give me one second?" Joe asked before Tracy nodded and walked into Captain's office. Joe handed me the picture and I speedily ripped it up and threw it away.
"If Caitlin wants Tracy dead, I guess what you saw in the future was true and she's teamed up with Savitar," said Joe as I place a hand on his shoulder and walked to the lab.
"I just didn't think it was gonna happen this soon."
"It certainly makes things more complicated," said Joe before a knock came from the door. Cecile stepped in.
"Makes what more complicated?" She asked, stepping in the center of our discussion.
"Uh t-there was a meta attack at CCU, and we just don't have much to go off of," said Joe, trying to distract her from our expressions.
"Really? It's a college campus... Isn't there video footage?" She asked.
"Uh, no--" I chimed in. "It got erased."
"Uh, well, I'm sure you will figure it out," Cecile said with a smile before turning on her heel and heading toward the door. I then nudged Joe towards her and he nodded before following her out. I turned to Barry and smiled.
"We should eavesdrop and see what's going on."
"I agree. Maybe we could give him some pointers?" Barry asked. I nodded and headed towards the door with Barry following. We walked down the stairs slowly, making up some random conversation so we looked normal. When we saw Joe over at his desk with Cecile, we continued to "converse" by the CCPD plaque on the wall. When things were getting interesting, I went over to Joe. Cecile had nodded off and Joe turned towards his computer.
"I totally heard that," I said to Joe before his head suddenly changed directions, and his attention was towards the elevator. I looked over to see Tracy trying to leave. "This discussion isn't over."
"Hey, where are you going?" Joe asked, calling Tracy over. She gripped her purse and walked over to Joe, metaphorically like a dog with it's tail between it's legs.
"Oh, uh, nearest bus stop," she said nervously, placing a stray hair back behind her ear.
"Uh, no, you should stay here, um, with Detective West for a little bit...Its safer that way."
"Why?" She asked. "That sketch artist was like freaking Michelangelo. You've got your woman." She turned to walk away, and I restrained her.
"Not yet," I said, pulling her back.
Until we do, you could be in a lot of danger."
"You really think Jack Frost's sister wants to kill me?" She asked. Her head fell to the floor. "I'm no one."
"In my experience, if she's come after you once, she's likely to do it again," Barry said, assuring her. She wasn't buying it.
"Look, this whole witness over-protection thing is totally unnecessary...It was just a random attack." She pulled her phone out after it chimed, and she quickly put it back in her purse. "Oh! The bus is coming!" She exclaimed, running towards the elevator door, anxiously waiting for the doors to open.
"We need to keep an eye on her," said Joe before turning back to his work.
"We sure do, I'll have Cisco on it," I said before tapping Barry's shoulder and heading off to S.T.A.R Labs. Yelling erupted from the cortex as soon as we stepped off the elevator. Thinking someone was in trouble, we sped into the cortex. There, we saw Julian and Cisco going at it, arms flailing and yelling over each other to the max.
"HEY!" I yelled at the two boys, not acknowledging me. Not taking it, I sped Julian out of the cortex and Cisco froze in his place. "Can you hear me now?" I asked. The cortex had been filled with silence. Cisco then nodded. "What was that about?" I asked.
"Just Julian being pissy pants again. He was mad because he saw the wiped footage from CCU and thought I had a 'clear shot' at Caitlin."
"You did what you had to do, and that's all we ask. He may be smart, but sometimes I question his humanity."
"I heard that," Julian said, returning back into the cortex. "And don't think I won't-"
"Guys, Tracy--" Joe said panting as he jogged into the cortex. I stopped him.
"It's covered, Joe," I said as he caught his breath. "HR's on it, he's with her."
"HR?" Joe laughed. "He's not really the--"
"He's already gained her trust. He's being a little flirty if any of you haven't noticed..."
"How do you--"
"I am a girl, I know it when I see it," I said with a smirk. "Speaking of flirting, what's the status with you and your lady love?" I asked.
"Do we really have to talk about it--" I sped Joe outside of S.T.A.R Labs and sat him down at Jitters. There, his favorite coffee and pastry had been waiting for him. He looked at me amazed and in shock. "Spill," I said, taking the cup off the table that my friend had already prepared for me.
"She caught me off guard. I just didn't think we were there yet."
"Well, obviously she is...Are you?" I asked. "I've been in that situation before, and I know how that must feel." Joe paused and pondered my question.
"I-I care for her a lot...It's just with everything going on with you and Savitar and now Caitlin, I just feel like I lie to Cecile all the time." Joe took a sip of his Cofee and I took a sip of my hot chocolate.
"Then maybe you should stop," I said to Joe, him practically choking on his drink. I knew Cecile well, and knew she could handle just about anything we threw at her. "You're gonna have to tell her about Wally, the team, and all this at some point, right? She works with CCPD, she's around us a lot, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put the pieces together. Barry and I understand, and you don't have to keep her in the dark for us. I know that if Barry wasn't The Flash, I'd come clean to him about my identity because I love and trust him. If you love her, you should be honest with her. At least that's what you'd tell me to do." Joe nodded and took a sip of his drink.
I then checked my phone for any notifications, and got one from Cisco's meta app as if if were a coincidence. "Cisco and Barry are in trouble...I have to go," I said before I grabbed my coat and stood up from my table. I quickly sped out of Jitters, going to S.T.A.R Labs. I sped to the hallway, and all was quiet until I reached the cortex. There, I saw Killer Frost standing in the center of the room.
"Flashette," Killer Frost said, noticing my presence. I stood my ground as Barry joined my side.
"Where is she?" Caitlin asked, talking about Tracy.
"We're not gonna--"
"Right here!" Tracy yelled, standing in the mouth of the cortex.
"Where's HR?" I asked. "I thought she was protected!" I exclaimed. Barry shrugged and Cisco, suit and all, stood by Tracy. Cisco pulled her away from the opening as Caitlin shot a blast. I then sped towards the blast and caught the ice that formed. I threw it to the ground and Killer Frost's anger rose.
"You're Savitar's lackey now? How much does that pay?" I asked.
"Oh Chloe, even funnier than I remember," she said, her hands radiating frost.
"Secure Tracy, Savitar could come at any minute," I said to Barry. He resisted, but I finally got him to go after a convincing glance. With him gone, I continued the standoff with Killer Frost. "How is he? Is he as much as a Tyrant as I think he is? If you were the best friend you claimed to be, you wouldn't allow this man to kill me. C'mon Cait, don't do this. There's still time, Julian's working on an antidote. He can save you. We can save you. You can come home..." I said, tears filling my eyes. Killer Frost turned away and I watched her as she wiped a small tear from her face. She then looked at me with an evil glint in her eye and a sudden blast escaped her hands. I was propelled back and crashed into the computer table. I felt to the ground with my hands trapped in Killer Frost's ice trap. My stomach and hands were consumed by that cold feeling, similar to the effect's of Captain Cold's gun. Killer Frost then walked around me and stopped at my feet. She examined my body as I tried to phase through the icy trap I had been in. She knelt down as I resisted and placed a hand to my cheek.
"Nice going there, but it's gonna take more than just a few petty words to change my mind," she said, standing up from my head and kneeling down at my leg. She extended her palm and an icy dagger filled it. "Savitar says I'm not allowed to kill you because that's his job, but I can't have you following me around." She placed the dagger in certain spots on my leg and pressed slightly. She was about to stab my leg, but stopped to check herself. "It was the left leg last time, right?....." She thought. "I'm correct..." She then raised the dagger even higher and slammed it into my leg. The icy spike pierced my skin and I was defenseless. I yelled in pain and I lurched foreword. "Scar tissue's a lot more sensitive than regular tissue..." She stood up and watched as I grunted and moaned at the cold and painful injury.
"This isn't you!" I yelled in between groans. She turned her back and walked towards the cortex opening.
"It is now," replied Caitlin. She blew an icy kiss before walking out of the cortex, leaving me. I managed to finally break free from the ice I was in a few minutes later. I slowly picked myself up, ignoring the pain of my leg, and used the horseshoe table as a crutch to stand up. I tried walking across to the med room, but fell short. I fell to the ground and gripped my leg. I began to cry, the pain being a lot for me to bare.
"CHLOE!" Cisco yelled, running into the cortex. He ran to my side and examined my wound.
"How did you--"
"I was watching on the cameras. They went down a few minutes ago. Caitlin must've disabled them after you were stabbed." Cisco then helped me up and carried me to the medbay. He gave me some painkillers and called Barry. Two seconds after the call, Barry was in the room with me.
"What happened?" Barry asked, coming over to my side.
"Killer Frost."
"I told you I should have--" Barry ranted before I interrupted him.
"Tracy is the most important right now. She's the key to stopping him, I'm just an anomaly--" I went off before I blacked out. I woke up to the blinding light of the medbay. Barry was next to me, playing on his phone. I blinked a few times and sat up. Barry acknowledged me and stood up to greet me.
"What happened?" I asked, examining my body. "Where's the--" Barry grabbed my hand and stroked it as he spoke.
"As much as they fought before, Julian came to remove the spike. We thought the pain would be too much for you to bare, especially because of the twins, so he put you out for a few minutes so he could remove it."
"Are the twins okay? Killer Frost and the cold and--"
"They're fine, all good. I made sure of it."
"And where's Tracy?" I asked, slightly panicking. "Is she--"
"She's here...In the cortex actually. We told her everything. The situation with you, Savitar, the speedforce, how she builds the technology to stop him in the future, Killer Frost, and how she is one of the world's smartest."
"I'm sure she believed that," I said, sarcastically. Barry giggled.
"Who would believe someone if they came up to them and told them they were going to get the Nobel piece prize in the future?" Barry asked. "She was so skeptical. It wasn't until we took out that little futuristic device that she actually believed me...She even asked Cisco about our suits. As much as I'd love to hear the same story 1000 times, I came in here and sat with you. They were even having a debate about what movie character she's most like. She compared herself to Sarah Connor from 'Terminator'."
"More like Miles Dyson," I said, reaching for the bottled water that had been on the table next to me. I took a sip.
"Funny...That's exactly what Cisco said."
"Maybe we have some sort of connection."
"Or you're both nerds," Barry said before giving me a kiss on the forehead.
"Now that I'm all wrapped up, can I go now?" I asked, looking down at my now bandaged leg. "I hate being pent up like this."
"Sure, princess," Barry said, placing his arms under my legs and back and picking me up. He carried me into the cortex and sat me down in a nearby chair.
"Nice of you to join us, and I hope you're feeling better..." said Cisco, giving me a smile. "Anyways, we were just telling Tracy about Savitar...How crucial she is to stopping him, and how we need her to build this manipulator trap now."
"What happens if I don't build the trap?" Tracy aaked. Cisco placed a hand to his chin and Barry spoke:
"Someone very important to us is going to die," Barry said, his eyes filling with tears. He looked over at me and I gave him a small smile. Tracy paused and froze. I could see that she was getting overwhelmed, and I could see that when she scurried out of the room:
"I'm sorry, excuse me," she said before leaving the cortex. HR chased after her and stopped at the mouth of the cortex.
"I know that, uh, normally one of you fellas goes out for the chat, but, uh I got this one," HR said before I waved him off and he continued running to find Tracy.
"And you say he isn't flirting. I've never seen him act this way before. Obviously it's because of Tracy, and you boys are just too blind to see that," I said, managing to stand up on my leg.
"What are you doing?" Barry asked. "You should be--"
"I'm fine, besides, there's work to be done," I said, slowly walking to the computer and tapping on the keys, getting my mind back into work mode. Minutes later, Julian jogged back into the cortex.
"HR talked Tracy back into it, she's working on the gun as we speak." Julian sat down at his seat and began writing. "I thought I'd let you know," Julian said before his expression turned sour and he directed his attention towards Cisco: "I know Caitlin was here...Chloe got hurt, and Tracy was put in harms way-" Julian went on before I stood up and Barry grabbed my arm.
"Let's go before this gets ugly," Barry said to me before he lead me to CCPD, where we met Joe at his desk.
"Sup, Joe," I said as Barry lead me in. Without question, Joe offered to talk to us in our lab, and we took him up on the offer.
"What's up with--"
"Another run in with Killer Frost. I'm fine, but it's just healing now."
"Why didn't you call! I could have been there!" Joe said, angrily.
"We didn't want you to worry, you've got a lot on your plate. Besides, Tracy's fine and that's all that matters."
"Aside from that, have you told Cecile about us yet?" Barry asked, walking over to his desk and examining a few files.
"Cecile is the only thing normal I have in my life right now, and I like having something normal...If I tell her about all this, that goes away."
"But if you don't tell her, there may not be an 'us', or even a future for these kids."
"Love is the only thing that makes the fight worth it, and it's the only thing that's gonna get us through this," I said to Joe. Joe then nodded and turned away. Our eyes met the lab door, which was now opening. Julian peeked his head in and opened it wide enough for him to get though.
"Guys, there you are."
"What's the problem?" I asked.
"Tracy's gone." With that, we put all the other worries aside and helped S.T.A.R Labs find our friend.
"I checked CCU, her apartment, and Jitters. Tracy's not in any of them," HR said as he paced the cortex...I'll bet you Savitar and Killer Frost are hunting her down as we speak."
"HR, you were with Tracy last...
How did she seem?" I asked.
"Rattled, Mrs Allen...Rattled, but I gave her a rousing and reassuring pep talk--so I think she's okay.."
"Or maybe that's why she left."
"That's not why, look, I will have you know my book on motivational speeches, 'All's Wells that Ends Wells'," HR walked over to his bag and pulled out a book.
"Tracy is in danger."
"You're right....Where else could she be?" HR asked.
"Why don't we start with her future hologram, right? That's that would give us insight," HR proposed.
"HR, that's propably the most logical thing you've ever said," I said, patting him on the shoulder. We then pulled up the hologram and looked at the pictures. Throughout them, HR made snarky comments about them, like him wanting to screenshot the photos, or him saying she's cute. One photo in particular that we looked at, he told me to stop and I took my finger off the trackpad. He then leaned forward and squinted towards the photo.
"Eppur si--" HR went on before he snapped his fingers. "Eppur si muove...Tracy, you blessed paramour of science," he said to himself. "I know exactly where she is." HR stepped from his seat and preached his idea to the rest of the team. "Epour si muove...Galileo's famous statement uttered moments after being forced to recant his theory that the Earth revolves around the sun."
"Guys!" Joe interrupted, running into the cortex. "It's Cecile...Killer Frost has her." I told HR to work on his theory of Tracy and I'd get back to him.
"Tell me what happened, okay?" I asked as I sat Joe down.
"Cecile and Killer Frost came to my house. She said she'd send an address to me and that if I don't bring Tracy to her, she's gonna kill Cecile!" Joe sobbed.
"We're not gonna let Killer Frost live up to her name and kill somebody, alright?" I asked Joe. "We're gonna do whatever we can to save her."
"Isn't she the key to saving you?"
"Yes, she is the target, but there has to be a way around this. HR's on his way to find her right now, and we haven't gotten the address yet. Until then, we have time." Joe sat up from his seat and looked down at his ringing phone.
"That's them...They're at the old Dressler Factory."
"Okay, we know where they are.
That's something...What's next?"
"Cisco, can I have a quick word?" Julian asked. I nodded at Cisco, and Cisco denied his request.
"Yes he would," I said, speeding them both into the pipeline and returning to the problem at hand. We came up with a plan, and Julian and Cisco made up just in time to enact it.
"Cecile! Are you all right?" Joe asked as he ran to her in the factory. I waited on the side to cover him as he ran to his love, who was blind to a chair.
"Joe! I'm okay," she cried as he tried untying her. "She didn't hurt me."
"That's because killing you does nothing for me," Killer Frost said, coming out from the shadows.
"Killing Tracy, That's everything...
Hand her over." Before she did anything else, I sped to Joe and Cecile and stood infront of them.
"You don't have to do this."
"Yes, I do," she replied.
"Why?" I asked. "Because Savitar commands it? He's not a god.
He's just a man that's using you...
Come on, you're one of us...We're family...."
"How cute!" She scoffed. Barry then sped in and spoke:
"We protect each other till the end," her and Barry both said in unison.
"How are you doing that?" He asked. "You took the words right out of my mouth."
"Savitar told me everything you'd say...You have more in common and are more alike than you realize...You see, that's how Savitar knows every move you're going to make...He's always one step ahead of you, because this is all history to him...That's how I know Cisco's in the rafters right now..." After that, a bomb blew up and I sped to save Cisco. I grabbed him and brought him back to ground level.
"It's over, Caitlin."
"Caitlin is dead."
"Not to me," Cisco said, shooting a blast at her. She dodged it, and quickly fired back. She fired an ice blast and I pushed the team out of the way. I caught of, and threw the ice to the ground.
"Go!" I yelled before we rushed the team, along with Cecile who was able to get free, out of the warehouse and back to safety at S.T.A.R labs.
"How do we keep surviving these things?" Cisco asked as he slumped down into his chair.
"Because we're in control of our fates."
"And how did she know I was up in the rafters? Is she psychic now too? And that thing where you guys were talking at the same time? How do you think she was doing that?" Cisco asked us as we all looked around at eachother.
"I don't know," I shrugged. "She said Savitar told her what was gonna happen."
"No way, man."
"This wasn't just brushing up on days to come....This was precise....
Scary precise....Like Savitar was there."
"Thanks to Cisco, we now have a sample of her blood when she was fully mutated as Killer Frost," said Julian, holding up a vile. "This could be the key to reverse engineering a cure, and I'm gonna get right on it!" Julian exclaimed as he ran off to his own lab.
"Since we're on the topic of our lovelies, did you talk to Cecile?" I asked Joe. "After this whole situation, it would be pretty hard to come up with some kind of excuse to cover it up."
"I did," Joe said with a smile. "Told her everything...Told her I love her...I told her that you and Barry were The Flashes, and that Wally was Kid Flash. But don't worry. She promised not to tell Joanie. That's a train wreck waiting to happen."
"What changed your mind?" I asked. "You were pretty set on keeping it under wraps."
"You, how am I supposed to disagree with your argument? You said it yourself, love's the only thing we got in this world...Without it, nothing really matters," Joe said before patting me on the back. "And who knows what we'd become if we didn't have it?" Joe asked the team. The team exchanged glances and smiled from ear to ear. After that, we had a family like conversation, discussing topics such as Wally's Earth-3 visit because he appeared midway through the conversation. In the middle of the conversation, Barry's forehead wrinkled. He stood deep in his thoughts, ignoring us around him. Eventually, his eyes widened at the realization of something and he sped off without question. With curiosity in my mind, I followed him. Similar to that Christmas with Zoom, Barry sped to an empty street.
"Bar, what are you--"
"I'M HERE!!" Barry yelled into the darkness. Nothing or no one was around, and the whole neighborhood's lights had been dark.
"What's going--" I was interrupted by a strong wind and a "whoosh." In that moment, Savitar stood before us.
"I know who you are," Barry said confidently before I whipped my head and looked at him.
"It's about time," Savitar said, standing tall. My attention turned back to Savitar as Barry paced around him. I continued to stand and witness the scene.
"Yes, it is."
"Everything with you is about time, isn't it? The past, the present, the future you know all of it, right? And you know everything about me! About Joe! About Wally....And Chloe! You know our strengths....You know our fears. You know how much we love each other....And you know how to use that love against us....All this time, we thought that we couldn't stop you because you were one step ahead, but that's not it! You don't just know what's gonna happen to us....You were there....You lived it. You remember when you were me." As Barry spoke these words, my surroundings went blurry. My head was filled with mirages of memories past. Moments after moments flooded my head as if they've been held back all this time. And at that moment, it all made sense.
I was then brought back to my senses as Barry and I both stood and watched Savitar kneel. He placed his hands against the ground and his suit opened up. A mechanical grinding was heard, and smoke emerged from the suit as the blue glow went away. When the smoke cleared, and tall, slim figure was seen. A figure I had known all too well, and one I wasn't expect until this moment. There were now two Barry's standing infront of me, one being mine, and another being the evil mastermind waiting, counting every minute until my death.
"Like I told you from the beginning, I am the future Flash."

CHAPTER FOR YOU! I hope you enjoyed. I managed to get this out, despite my busy schedule.
And sorry for the late updating! I was planning on having this done by last weekend, but I am going to be really busy this week. (Hopefully this weekend I can get it done!) Sorry if this update isn't as good as usual, I feel that this is very choppy and doesn't blend together well. There was a lot going on at once, so I hope you got everything. I'll see you in the next chapter, and talk to you soon! -Flashette1 ⚡️
