BROOKE'S POV

The doorbell rang and Louis quickly went to answer it. I took the cookies out of the oven and they looked perfect!

A few minuets later, Louis returned, but with Eleanor. "Eleanor, this is Brooke, Niall's girlfriend," Louis introduced me.

"Hi, I'm Eleanor," Eleanor said as she extended her hand to me.

"It's nice to meet you, how are you?" I replied, shaking her hand.

"I'm good, thanks," she said, sitting at the bar.

"Do you want anything to drink El?" Louis asked.

"Can I just have some water," she politely replied. Louis got her a cup of water and sat by her and they started talking.

I decided to find Niall since it was awkward sitting there with Eleanor and Louis. I found Niall upstairs in his room on his phone, I rested my shoulder on this doorframe, Niall acknowledged my presence with a nod.

"Yeah, I'll try to come out... Greg, can I call you back, I have a visitor... Yes it's Brooke... Ok, bye," Niall said into his phone. I giggled a little at how Greg knew it was me.

"Sorry, Greg wanted to talk, he says hi," Niall said.

"No need to apologize, so why do you need to go out to Mullingar?" I asked, sitting next to him.

"Greg wants to have a party for my dad, and he really wants me to come, because his last couple birthdays I've been on tour..." Niall explained.

"Fun! Do I get to come?" I giggled.

"Yeah if you want to," Niall answered.

"Really? Yay! I get to meet your family!" I exclaimed.

"Uh... you're excited about that?" Niall said.

"Yeah! Why, should I not be?" I asked confused.

"My family is... special..." Niall said.

"Oh come one, they can't be that bad!"

"Well, when do I get to meet your family?" Niall asked.

"You already did..." I said, in a stating the obvious tone.

"I meant your parents that raised you," he said, stepping closer to me.

"I don't really talk to them that much, even though they try to," I said, looking at the ground.

"Why not, it's gotta be pretty hard to tell their only daughter that she was adopted, but at least they're trying to keep in contact with you," Niall said.

"Yeah I know. But I still don't understand why didn't tell me earlier..." I thought out loud.

"I'm sure they have their reasons, you should try calling them," Niall suggested.

"I would, but I left on a bad note..." I said quietly. Then there was a silence almost as if Niall was asking me to explain without actually asking me.

"They didn't know about you and I didn't tell them," I said, hugging Niall.

"So? I'm sure they do now," Niall said, rubbing my back as we hugged.

"No, my ex somehow found out I was coming back so he showed up... and made me hang out together and... I was so stupid, I'm sorry," I confessed, tears falling slowly.

Niall leaned back, but we were still hugging, "Brooke," he wiped a tear with his thumb, "Do you still have feelings for him?"

"No, not at all. He's a self-centered jerk," I replied honestly.
