--Wide Eyes--

"Oh My God!" I gasped loudly, taking in my surroundings.

"I told you looks are deceptive." Diego merely shook his head, probably at my state of utter shock.

"This deceptive? Remind me to never judge a book by its cover again." I took in my surroundings and it made my guts churn.

This was not a living room, it looked more like a trophy room. Looking at the trophies made out of innocent animal's heads made my head slightly dizzy. For a place which looked so calm, the interior was definitely a shocker.

Everywhere I looked, it was either trophies or ancient, valuable rifles on display. I wish I could appreciate the rich looking furniture and overall elegant interiors of the room but my focus and sympathy were solely focused on the trophies. How cruel and Anton like.

"Sky." I heard my name but didn't turn around. His voice has changed, deeper, raspier, I wonder how much he himself has changed.

"Anton." I finally turned around to face my only sibling alive, involuntary tears threatened to slip from my eyes.

He has changed.

His eyes were more mature than they were the last time I saw them. He had a beard, his body looked more muscular and more masculine. Diego was right, he was no more a boy, he was a man now. A tall, brooding, all grown ass man.

"Last time I checked your hair were blonde, how come you return to the original red?" He asked while walking towards me with purposeful steps. I sensed Diego's stance getting protective as he took a step in front of me.

"Last time I checked you were a supporter of PETA." I shot back, stepping in front of Diego, this needs to be done between me and my brother. Being this close to my brother after so long and looking at his grin woke something inside of me which was asleep for many years, and no, it was not my love for him.

"Well, my girlfriend worked for PETA so, obviously. But then, she cheated on me." He shrugged and flashed an evil grin which reminded me of mother. I almost shudder.

"Sad, I thought you and Minerva were going to give me nephews and nieces with the amount of time you both spent moaning and grunting." I smirked, my bitch mode was suddenly on, and like never before.

He scrunched his nose up in disgust, "Your bad if you thought I was ignorant about the concept of protection."

"Yeah my bad, I thought protection must've slipped your mind while you fucked her during Salbador's wake."

I heard a not so subtle gasp escape Diego's mouth which was accompanied by a disbelieving look which he threw my brother's way, whose face looked like as if it has been stomped by a sledgehammer.

"How dare you! I thought you were really miserable and needed some alone time." Diego growled and surprisingly Anton did flinched at that.

"I really was miserable, Min just came to comfort me--"

"And you ended up fucking her, ignoring how much your family needed you!" I yelled, interrupting him. I was so enraged at that moment I could've popped a nerve in my head.

It was the first time I ever confronted Anton with this. He was not a kid anymore and I don't have to play the nice, caring sister anymore too.

"Like you all cared. Admit it, dad was signing a new deal and mom was getting herself a new couture even before the flowers on his grave had dried." Anton's voice shimmered with emotions, most prominently anger.

"They never cared! It was only ever us, Anton. But you never thought of us as a team. You always saw Sal as your competitor!"

"Because that's what that motherfucker was! He was a soft-heart..he didn't have the balls to run the family business. He was a pussy!"
