--Sin, Crime and Death --

It was exactly 7'o clock when I heard a knock at my door. Before I had any time to respond, the door burst open.

"Why do you even bother knocking?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at Diego.

"Why do you even bother asking?" He retorted.

And well really, why do I?

Both Adana and I were back in time to make it look like we never left our rooms. I may hate that girl, but even I have to admit, we both made a nice, little team.

"Can I step out of my room now?" I asked, looking at him expectantly.

"Sure." He said, then turned around and walked out of the room.

Well..that was kinda awkward, I thought.

I took my time, getting fresh and the whole while Alfonso's words were doing rounds in my mind. That man is a manipulative jerk, to be honest and he made me feel like he gave me so much information when in reality all he did was to confuse me more. And I am sure, he did it on purpose.

All men in my life are jerks. And my conscience definitely agreed with that.

When I finally decided to head towards the kitchen, I bumped into Adana...and was she crying?

"Are you all right?" I asked before I could stop myself.

"The act is over, Villarreal. No need to act like you care now." Her arrogance made me wanna hit her on her head with that 6 inch heels she was wearing.

"I am not acting, Ana. I--"

"It's Adana for you." She sneered and though I wanted to say, Diego beat me to it.

"And it's time for dinner for both of you." He had a very charming smile on his face, which made him look younger by at least 5 years. Diego's teeth are not exactly all straight but they are definitely very dazzlingly white.

"Sure." I said, and walked away with my head high. I'll not take shit from anyone, especially not from someone like Adana. Plus, I have no intention of hearing what Diego was whispering in her ears. I plan to give the bro-sis duo all the privacy they need.

I was settled on my seat, and after a few minutes the Osorio siblings made an entrance. Adana looked much better than before. And it made me jealous. Mostly all brothers in this universe are nice and caring, why in the world mine has to be such an asshole? Brothers protect their sisters and what mine is doing? Making his hit men call me and threaten me. Great, just great.

The dinner was silent, it was not exactly comfortable but nothing too uncomfortable either. Everyone had something on their minds and it was all too evident. Soon, we were done and I was glad because tonight, I plan to talk everything out with Diego.

If he's going to be in my life and save it too, then it is important for us to be on the same page. And somehow I feel, we are on the same page just in different books.

"It was nice to see you both together without biting each other's head off." Diego said, standing up indicating that the dinner is now over. I was immediately reminded of how it used to be back in Spain.. So many bloody behavioral norms.

"I'm glad it was nice for you." Adana said with a small smile, which definitely was fake.

"Yeah, at least you found it nice." I said, putting in my two cents.

"Yeah, yeah. Now have a goodnight ladies."

"You too, brother." Adana said and then looked at me, "And you." and then walked off. She looked tired and more wan than usual..can definitely do with some rest.
