Chapter 22

"Rise and shine sweetie!" Michelle sang, she came in with a smile that reached from ear to ear. "Now. Doctor Tanner says not to take you outside but, no one will see you and... It's time you met Scarlet." She looked me over,"I suppose we best find you some better clothes too. Hang on I'll be back real soon with some of Scarlet's old clothes." She left the room, leaving me by myself.
I know what to do, I'll try to walk around with my new feet. I jumped off the table, and fell to the ground. It's so heavy, I don't know how I'll ever get used to this. I try lifting my hand but it hardly moves.
"Here we are! I got you something, it's not much but you'll learn to like it." She helped me onto my feet and showed me the clothes, they were perfect just some brown shorts and a pink t-shir.
I felt like crying, but I didn't. Instead I looked up at the lady, " Thank you." I whispered, except I would need help putting them on with my new hand. "Um... Can you help... Me, please."
She looked surprised, then saw the metal hand and nodded. It took a while because Earthen clothes are so different to me. But I'll get used to it, and I'll get used to my metal hand and feet.
She slowly carried me up the ladder after checking outside multiple times. It was a weird feeling to be carried away to someplace new, not knowing what it'll look like, and the people you meet.
The doors slowly opened, and the old woman took one last look, and pulled me out. It was breathtaking we were on a beautiful plot of land with a small simple house, and a barn, and wow. Even though she rushed me into the house, closed the door on the way in.
I she dropped me down on a wooden chair by a table, I assume it must be the dining room. The old woman was stomping up the stairs with a mad look on her face. I count the seconds... One... Two... Three... Four. She came stomping back down with a girl with bright red hair.
The girl sat on the table and paid no attention to me. I hate the feeling of being ignored. "Um... Is this Scarlet." I ask to Michelle, she nods the girl looks at me. "Who's she?" Scarlet asks.
"My... My name is..." I run to Michelle, to ask "should I use my real name?" She shrugs, I try again, " My name is..." I think of a nickname I could use. Luna, nah people will definitely think I'm a Lunar then. I could be named Summer, like the opposite of Winter uh... Nah. Michelle clear her throat, "Her name is Cinder." I nearly laugh at the name, I burned in the fire, it makes perfect sense. So I decide to nod. "Hi, I'm Scarlet... like the hair."
She gives her hand to shake, I try but it plops down and I can't get it back up, so I use my other hand. It makes for awkward handshake but it works.
"Wait a minute, why is she here?" Scarlet asks, Michelle smiles again. "I adopted her. She was in a horrid... Car... Accident." I nod once again.
She smiles, "Can I take her around the barn." Scarlet says excitedly. "Fine, but make sure she is seen by no one if she is seen come back here immediately." Scarlet nods
She brings me along, and as soon as I touch the floor my left foot hurts horribly, "Ow!!!!!!" Jump up and down, i look down and see a wire sticking out. I see green letters flash across my screen.

Internal wire has broken off the nerve break.
Fix by turning internal wire into brainal conserve wire, and switching nerve wire with parallel wire.

I had no idea I was doing it until I was done. Scarlet's eyes widened and are probably as big as Luna if not, bigger. "How... Did you... Do that!" I don't know so I shrugged.

Hoi! Scarlet!!!! Just wait they'll become best friends, and (another exciting fact) I don't have to call Cinder, Selene anymore! Even though it's her real name, a Cinder is way better. Selene is a princess, Cinder is a mechanic which do you think suits her better?

I had no idea what I was doing with the wires so I used my recent school vocabulary and some science words. 👍
