As Marina settled into her new Barcelona life, she began to look back on everything she left in Madrid.

Her mind went to it.

The thought of Sergio pierced her head, and she quickly brushed it off.

Living with Marc and being in a newly found relationship meant that she couldn't have such thoughts anymore. To her, it was the equivalent of cheating. For feelings never do change after all, no matter how much she tried to convince herself different. She came to realize this after she found herself wishing for Sergio instead of Marc in everyday things. There would be instances where doing something so simple as washing dishes, would spark memories and wish that he were there in her presence. She never acted upon her wishes, and insisted that they were merely that, 'wishes'. They would never come true, and maybe it was for the better.

She was lying awake in her bed, with a snoring Marc beside her at 4:27 in the morning. Her hands tracing his back, as he stayed soundly asleep. Her mind was no longer counting sheep, but the days to when she may see Sergio again. She did indeed crave him and his warmth, but she knew it was wrong. Marc was so dedicated to Marina, that she felt guilty and empty. The fact that she made Sergio feel such pain as she drifted towards Marc, breaks her heart entirely. Her heart always knew it would return home, and that home was not with Marc.

It was 4:38 now. Her thoughts were suddenly silenced.

She lifts herself up, putting her legs into her  zebra pajama pants that Marc had bought her, one at a time. She puts a grey simple hoodie on, and her slippers, and makes her way to the door leading to the hallway. Grabbing her essentials such as her keys, phone, and wallet, she decides she is no longer living a lie.

Writing up a quick note to Marc, she knew he would never want to hear from her again.

The following morning,

Marc is awaken to the thunder clapping down onto the city of Barcelona. He turns over, only to find the other side of his bed empty.  Startled, he quickly gets up and drags the blanket of the bed as he walks to see if maybe she was doing something. His mind jumped to thoughts as to what she may be up to as he grasped the silver door handle.

'She's probably just making me breakfast, as usual. It's okay.' He thought. Twisting the handle, he is in the hallway of his condo. He hears nothing but the thunder outside. He walks on the red plush carpet, the blanket following him. Turning into the kitchen, he is shocked to see not one person in sight, nothing being cooked, only silence. He makes his way to the black marble counter to get a mug for some coffee. Opening the cupboard, his eyes see the yellow note left by Marina. His eyes widen to his surprise, and pick it up.

'Marc,  I know this is sudden. But I have to go. For the past few months, we've had a great time, yes. Yet, I felt as if I were deceiving you into thinking I felt the same way. At first, I did. I promise that I did. As time grew on, my feelings were becoming more friendly and I seem to have found that my other feelings that should've been for you, were in reality, for someone else whom you know all too well. I'm sorry, and you can get rid of all of my things. I know someone will appreciate and love you the way I couldn't.

Marina."

I'm sorry for this not only being such a short chapter, but such a delay! I completely forgot about this but I promise, no more delays and I will finally finish this up.
