"Moooom! When will Banana be here?" I whine.

My mother looks to me and smiles "Soon dear. She and her mother still have to deal with their own business." She says.

I sit down and pout "But I want her to be here now! This is Anna's first Christmas with us and I wanna do all the things we planned with her!!!" I complain.

Mom laughs "Haha. Chrom, sweetheart, the only reason Anna is staying with us for Christmas, is because her mother has to work for the holidays. You know how much she's been working since her husband left her." She says.

I frown "Mr. Validar was so STUPID to leave Anna! She's the bestest person ever!" I declare.

Mom sighs "I know, I know... And not even be decent enough to pay child support... Anyways, Anna is more than welcome to come her anytime. Anything to help her mother." She says.

I smile and nod "YEP!" I say enthusiastically.

Just then, my older sister walks in "Did someone just say that Anna's coming over?" She asks.

I nod enthusiastically "Yep! Anna's spending Christmas with us! Isn't that cool Emm?!" I ask.

Emm nods and laughs "Yeah, sure is!" She walks over to mom. I hear them whispering about something, but I can't really hear.

I pout. What are they talking about? I hate it when they whisper! Just cause I'm eight and Emm's fourteen doesn't mean I can't listen to grown up conversations! I open my mouth to protest, but the doorbell rings.

I gasp "I'LL GET IT!!!" I yell, running to the door. I open it, and standing there is Anna and her mom. "Anna!" I yell, hugging her.

She giggles "Hiya, Chrom!" She says, hugging me back.

I release her, and grab her hand "C'mon, let's go inside!" I say, dragging her inside the house.

We go into the living room and play while our moms talk for a bit. "Are you excited about spending Christmas with us?!" I ask.

Anna nods "Yeah, but... I'm gonna miss my mom... I really wish that she didn't have to work." She says.

I frown "Don't think like that! I'm gonna make this the bestest Christmas ever!" I declare.

Anna laughs "Haha, good luck."

Just then, our moms walk into the room. Anna's mom walks over to her, and picks her up "I'll be back before tomorrow night. I love you, little bird." She says, kissing Anna's head.

Anna hugs her mom "I love you too, mama." She says.

She leaves, and Anna starts to cry a bit. I hug her comfortingly, "It's ok! You're with us now!" I say.

"Don't worry, Anna. We promise to make this a great Christmas. Now c'mon, kiddos! Let's eat some lunch!" My mom says.

I nod "Ok!"

"I can't believe Santa is coming right now!" I say as Anna and I settle into our sleeping bags.

"Yeah!" She says, yawning.

I frown "Don't tell me you're gonna fall asleep right now! We're gonna wait up for Santa!" I command.

Anna yawns again "Chrooooom, I'm sleepy!" She says.

"But- we have to wait up for Santa!" I pout.

"Chrom, I appreciate everything that you've done for me today, but I really need to sleep right now." She says.

I sigh in disappointment "Ok... but, can you at least look out the window with me for a few minutes?" I ask.

Anna sighs "Ok..."

We both stare out the window, I place my arm around her "What are you doing?" She asks.

I shrug "I see my daddy do it to my mommy all the time. I just thought that maybe we should try it." I say.

Anna thinks for a moment, and nods "Ok!" She says. She kisses my cheek.

"What are you doing?!" I ask.

She giggles "I see people do it all the time. I thought I should try it." She says.

"Oh, ok! In that case... there's something else I want to try!" I say.

I kiss her awkwardly on the lips.
