"Why are you acting so pressed about this?"

Lauren looks up at her band member with a clenched jaw, "It's just weird okay. These are two of my best friends and they're both straight."

"Have they explicitly stated that? Because they look pretty cute to me." Camila chimes in as she plays a game on her phone from the bed next to Lauren's.

"Exactly, what's your problem, Lauser?" Dinah's been interrogating Lauren from the foot of her bed for the past 30 minutes and it's been getting on her nerves to say the least.

"It's only fueling the fans and their shipping thing. You guys know my opinion on Camren." She can barely get the word passed her lips.

"We know. We don't understand but we know."

Lauren rolls her eyes, "Let me call Vero right now! She'll confirm that she's straight!"

Suddenly Ally walks in, Normani right behind her, "I wanna be here for this." the oldest girl sits down on Camila's bed while Normani cuddles up next to Dinah, "Put her on speaker."

"Was I that loud? I hate you guys." Lauren rolls her eyes before pressing call and putting the conversation on speaker phone.

"Hola Laurenza!"

"Hii Vero, how are you?"

"All is well, babe. How about you? Why you calling me when you could be exploring LA's nightlife?"

"We have an early meeting. And it's only like 9 here." Lauren chuckles, "I was actually calling to ask how things are back home?"

"Oh I assume you heard about Vercy?"

"What the fuck is a Vercy?"

Vero gasps in disbelief, "Vero plus Lucy, obviously."

"Oh, well yeah, I might have heard about that." Lauren mutters,

"Well you're not fucking Lucy anymore are you? Just checking."

Lauren's eyes widen as she gasps, dropping her phone on the bed in a panic. The girls collectively stare at her, mouths agape, Dinah and Normani giggling quietly.

"That's what you get for putting me on speaker, Jauregui." Vero's cocky voice sounds from the bed.

Lauren quickly grabs her phone from the sheets and puts it off speaker, bringing the device to her ear and getting up to enter the bathroom. She slams the door shut behind her after which the four remaining girls quickly press an ear against it.

"What the FUCK, Veronica." Lauren whisper yells as she attempts to get her heartbeat back to normal. "You always pull shit like that!"

"Shit like what?"

"Shit that embarrasses me!"

"Love isn't embarrassing, chica." Vero makes teasing kissy noses that cause Lauren to groan and roll her eyes.

"You're delusional. I was just calling to check if you and Lucy are both still straight and single."

"Oh, Lauren, honey. We're single, for now."

"And straight?"

"Well speak of the devil. Lucy just got here. She's staying the night. Please do text me your sleepover advice. I hear good stuff about your guys' girls nights."

And the line's dead. Lauen throws her phone on tile floor, thanking the heavens when she doesn't hear it crack.

"Can you guys leave now please? I know you're on the other side of the door." Lauren mutters, back pressed to the bathroom door. She hears rustling and mumbling for a few minutes followed by silence.
