Mia had a pit in her stomach as she stood in the kitchen. It was the day after she had told Liam how she felt, but something was wrong between them. He was giving her a cold shoulder, wasn't even acknowledging her.

But she had bigger things to worry about, like going against the Benefactor, the one who made the dead pool, the one who wanted them all dead.

Scott, Stiles, Kira, Liam, and Mia huddled around the table in the center of the kitchen, talking about the worse plan of the century.

"What if you killed someone on the list, but confirmation is impossible?" Scott repeated this, making sure the plan was clear. "We have to do this."

"Have you done something like this? This is sounds really dangerous." Liam said, standing by the table with his arms on the table. Mia could see that he was terrified.

Mia blinked, looking his way, "Liam, if you don't-"

"I'm not scared," he snapped at her. Mia closed her eyes, sighing. Why was he like this?

"Well you're an idiot then," Stiles chimed in, patting Liam on the back.

"Tell me again why we have to do it this way," Mia said. She hated this stupid plan.

Also, why today? Yesterday while taking the PSATs, the school was affected by a virus. The virus was deadly to supernatural.

They gathered in the morgue, waiting for Melissa to get there. She was just told that Scott was dead. Mia's job was to make sure she knew the whole plan: Mrs. Yukimura had to stop Scott's heart in order to get the benefactor's attention.

But still Mia knew that this was hard for Melissa to see him like this, it was hard for Mia as well. Scott was her brother.

"Okay, how long?" Melissa asked, looking to Mia.

"Forty-five minutes exactly," Mrs. Yukimura said.

It was quiet for a good thirty seconds before Melissa asked, "And what happens after that?" Mia looked at everyone, this was the one thing she hadn't mentioned to her. "Mia, what will happen?"

"He'll die."

Everyone went into their positions and was ready for anything. Mia was pacing back and forth, trying to stay alert up.

She was shaking. Mia couldn't believe that this was happening. Scott was playing dead, the rest of them were going to track down the Benefactor, also Scott could end up dead. This could all go to hell.

"What's that?" Asked Kira hovering over the the laptops with the cameras. Mia stop in place.

Something was wrong, one of the cameras were out. They could no longer see the

roof.

"I'm go to see what's going on up there." Mia offered as she walked toward the doorway.

"Mia it may not be just a camera problem," Stiles said, he had a hand out as if he was going to stop her.

"I'll going with her," Liam said. He walked towards her. Mia rolled her eyes, making it clear that he saw. She knew they were going to talk, and by the way that Liam had be acting, it wasn't going to be pleasant. "Let's go."

"Wait!" Stiles urged, still with his hand up, he sighed. "Mia!"

"You're forgetting I'm supernatural!" She ran out of the room, not wait for Liam. Her head was crazy. "Come on, Liam!" She shouted behind her.

Mia's body pumped adrenaline and fear as she raced up the stairs to the roof. Wind blew in her face once she pushed the door, seeing two berserkers standing, waiting for them to come at them.

"You take one, I'll take the other?" Suggested Liam he was at her right. And for once, this was surprisingly calm, considering how he was acting today.

"Ah, sounds like plan,"Mia got out after her shift. Her claws were out, eyes bright blue.

She ran as fast as she could, started throwing kicks and punches. Mia was losing this pretty badly, being thrown to ground does not mean you're on your game. Mia wasn't, in fact she was surprised she was still in this fight.Scott was down, Melissa was in this too, which made this far more scary. What if she got hurt?

She kept clawing away, only thinking about the main thing in this situation here: Scott. It was difficult trying to get this right, kicking and punching and clawing. The berserker had her up against the electrical post, she was up in the air struggling.

Mia dropped to the floor, instantly. Rubbing the bump on her head, she saw Liam trying to take two of them. He wasn't doing great.

"Hey!" Mia growled at one of them. Anger flushed out of her. "Come get me!"

"Mia what the hell are you doing?" Liam shouted from his very position, he was still fight both. Not even looking at her, Mia heard Liam perfectly.

"Saving your ass. What does it look like, Liam?" She gritted out. She started trying to beat the berserker, when she heard Liam talking.

"You didn't have to do that," Liam said still not looking at her. The fight was getting hard as Mia was collecting multiple scrapes and gashes.

"I think what you're trying to say is, 'Thank you, Mia, for saving my ass'." She said through many dodges, and trying to avoid the arm of a berserker. She grunted a couple more times, trying to breath and focus. In the moment everything changed. The berserkers were leaving. Mia was on the ground up against the wall. "They're just leaving?"

Both of them decided that the should head back to the morgue, seeing how it was almost time to wake Scott. The halls were quiet and so were Mia and Liam. Mia thought this was weird. This was the part where'd she kiss Liam after the escape for danger, but not this time. Although Mia was safe a sound, she was pissed at Liam.

"Mia, you're right. I'm sorry," Liam said breaking the silence in the dark hallway. The flickering lights from the hospital's backup generators were helping to lead the way. It was empty, cabinets were knock out in the middle of it. "Mia, I'm sorry," he said again.

"And the boy speaks." Three slow claps echoed in the halls, Mia didn't look at him, just kept walking. "He also has manners, nice."

"Okay what the Hell is your problem? You started by acting nice then you turned mean. If you have a problem, say it." Liam stopped her, and now they were standing real close to each other. "I've realize that I was jerk to you about... that thing you say to me, and I'm sorry."

"Okay, shut up and let me say somethings. One, you're be pick really really bad times to talk, okay. Liam we're in battle. Now is not the time. And second, because ohmygod I've wanted to say thing all day: yes, Liam said 'I love you', but life is short, and the way we living it's even shorter. That doesn't mean I didn't mean this, I did. Liam... I said it, it's out there, in the world. You don't have to say it, I don't want to pressure you. The last few years have been hell, and now I-i don't know, I've never felt this way. Please don't be mad at me for feeling right. Liam, we need each other. I'm your Anchor!"

Mia ended and started tearing up. She thought it would be best if she walked away, but as she turn around she felt a tug on her shoulder. Mia stopped with hesitation, still turned, she debating whether to actually go back. Liam gripped her shoulder, gently but still with a pull, she land in his arms, snug and warm.

"I'm still sorry," he whispered with a smile.

"Just shut up and kiss me." The kiss was electrifying, unlike anything Mia had felt before. Long and passionate it was, Mia hadn't felt safer. But it need to be time to go, she had to go see Scott, it was like an inch waiting to scratch.

"I should go check on my dad," Liam pulled away for a second, but Mia was relieved.

"Yeah, that is a good idea, I'm going to cheek on Scott," Mia said, hugging him tightly, not wanting to let go. Mia saw him walking by himself and start to smile. We're okay, everything is going to be fine.
