When your brother Tyler had gone to visit his friend Mark, you insisted on coming along, wanting to actually go out and do something. Tyler never brought you to meet his friends because he was too worried about one of them wanting to date you then break your heart. It was ridiculous.

In the driveway, you impatiently waited as Tyler typed out a text to someone. "Hurry up, Ty!"

He continued typing. "I'm almost done, Y/N, hold your horses."

Stepping out of Tyler's car, you rushed ahead of him to knock on the door before him. "Y/N, wait up!" He jogged after you as someone opened the door.

You immediately knew it to be Mark, and grinned at the boy with fiery red hair. "Y/N! Its been a while!" He exclaimed, wrapping an arm around you for a friendly hug, opening the door wider for you as Tyler caught up to you.

Mark's arm suddenly disappeared, and you knew that Tyler was glaring at him. They exchanged greetings as the door was closed behind you two. You saw a few more people sitting on the couch, and they leapt up to greet you.

A girl with blonde hair and dyed yellow tips excitedly smiled at you. "Hi, I'm Amy!"

"Hi Amy, I'm Y/N, Tyler's sister!" You shook her hand as the other girl introduced herself as Kathryn.

Tyler said hello to them as well as Mark looked around the room curiously. "Amy, you see where Ethan went?"

She frowned, apparently not noticing his disappearance. "No clue."

"He got a text before Tyler and Y/N got here, and immediately said something about needing to check up on editing or something." Kathryn explained, shrugging.

"Weird."

"Hi! I'm back!" Someone yelled from behind the couch you were sat on, and you twisted around to see a cute boy with bright blue hair.

"Hi." You said, mildly awestruck as you looked up at him.

"Oh hello." He stopped in his tracks, looking back at you. "I'm Ethan."

"Y/N."

"My sister." Tyler interjected coldly, dissipating the warm feeling stirring inside of you.

"Hey Tyler!" Ethan didn't let this faze him, walking over to sit beside Mark on the couch furthest from you.

You brushed off the interaction, falling into easy conversation with your new friends. Soon it was well after dark, and about time for you to go back to the hotel with your brother. However, he had a few beers to drink as he tried to grab his keys. "No way in hell are you driving, Ty." You sighed, easily taking his keys from him. Only two people were completely sober, Ethan and you, since both of you were underage.

"Fine, you drive, Y/N."

"I'm only 20, not allowed to drive a rental car."

Amy's kind, slightly buzzed voice entered the conversation as Mark hung onto her shoulders. "How about you two stay the night? The couches are open."

"Thank you so much." You smiled, leading your brother over to the larger one.

"I'm going to get Mark into bed then we'll see about getting you some pajamas, Y/N."

"Oh you don't have to do that, we're already overstaying our welcome."

"If anyone's overstaying their welcome, its the blue baby." She jabbed a thumb towards Ethan.

"Hey!" He said indignantly, and you giggled. "Your boyfriend invited me to live with you guys until I get my own place."

"Yeah, yeah." Amy rolled her eyes as Mark started trying to make a drunken pass at her. "I seriously have to get this doofus to bed. Ethan, you get Y/N pajamas, okay?"

"Yes, mom."

"Thank you, son."

As Amy disappeared down the hallway towards their bedroom, Ethan gestured for you to follow him. "Come on, I've got some extra shirts or sweatpants or whatever."

"That's not necessary, I'm fine sleeping in these."

He raised an eyebrow at your outfit, jeans, tank top, and cardigan. "No, come on, my honorary mom told me to."

You laughed at their friendship, following him into the guest room he was staying in. He had already made himself at home kind of, half of his stuff in the drawers and half still in his suitcases. The blue-haired boy rifled through his clothes until he found a few garments to lend you.

"Sweatpants, a T-shirt, and a hoodie in case you get cold out there." He explained as he handed them out to you.

"Thank you Ethan. So much." You grinned, accepting the clothes.

Changing into them in the bathroom, you had to tie the sweatpants extra tight so they didn't slip off your hips, and the hoodie went almost down to your knees. But you didn't mind, they were cozy and carried a comforting scent up to your nose. You assumed it be Ethan.

Walking out to the kitchen, you saw Ethan standing by the microwave, two mugs spinning inside of it. "Whatcha doing?" You asked, sidling up to him by the counter.

He took in the sight of you in his clothes, a faint smile across his lips before he answered. "Making hot chocolate for us. I figured we could talk a bit more now since Tyler didn't let us earlier. If you want to, of course, I understand if you're tired."

You smiled as the timer dinged and he pulled the steaming mugs out. "I think that sounds great."

Tyler was fast asleep on the couch so you and Ethan sat hip to hip on the large armchair together. You talked and laughed with him for a while, long after both of you had drained your hot chocolate.

There was a peaceful lull in the conversation, just both of you enjoying each others company when he spoke up again. "I cant believe I'm just meeting you, Y/N."

"What do you mean?"

"Well Tyler and I have been friends for a while, right? We did stuff together at PAX South. And it may sound a bit cliche, and it may be because its 2am, but where have you been all my life?"

You smiled into the sleeves of the warm hoodie, thankful for the dim lighting hiding your blushing. "That was cheesy, but I agree. I feel like this meeting has been a long time coming."

"I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that." He admitted, running a hand through his blue locks and smiling at you merely inches away from him.

You snuggled further back into the couch and Ethan, a yawn escaping as he adjusted his arm around you for maximum comfort. "Thanks." You said quietly, appreciating his kindness.

"So how long are you staying in LA?"

"Uhm, until my brother leaves, I guess." You shrugged, looking over towards the sleeping Tyler.

Immediately at these words, Ethan stiffened, retracting his arm from around and awkwardly standing up from the armchair. "Uh, I'm really tired Y/N, goodnight."

Contrary to his words, his widened eyes told you that he was definitely awake, but you kept your suspicions to yourself, bidding him a goodnight as well. Curling up in his clothes, you fell asleep with the thoughts of Ethan's strange behavior.
