Lauren
Monday came so fast for Luaren. She was so nervous of what to expect this day. She already got Lily ready for her first day of school. Now she was just waiting outside for the school bus to come. Least this will give her time before she leave's in a bit.
"Mommy, why can't you come with me?" Lily asked her as she tugged on the hem of her dress.
"Because you're a big girl now, and don't need me to go to school with you. You'll be find." She says bending down to her height.
"But I don't wanna go..." Lily started to pout.
Just as she said that the school bus pulled up in front of the house. She looked back at Lily and handed her her lunch she packed.
"Come, I'll walk you to the bus." Lauren said grabbing her hand.
Lily was skidding her feet to make it harder for her to walk, but that didn't stop her for getting her to the bus. When they arrived at the bus, she gave Lily a little push to get on.
"I don't wanna..." She whined.
"You're making this even harder you know? You'll be fine, I know you will. Now get on the bus." She said giving her one little push, which got her on the bus.
She stood back and watched as the door of the bus closed. It wasn't long until she saw Lily in the front row of the bus giving her a sad look from the window. She gave her a sympathetic smile and waved. It hurts her to see her little girl leaving her for the first time, but she knew that she would be okay.
When the bus finally pulled off, she waved one last time, until the bus was out of sight. She let out a shaky breath and fought back tears. She had the urge to get in her car to go after the bus but fought against it. She had to focus mainly on this job interview. So as she wiped the tears that threatened to fall, she headed back inside to get ready.
It didn't really take long for Lauren to get ready, for she only needed to grab her coat and her files. Plus a cup of coffee for the ride. With a sip of her beverage, she finally stepped outside for a second time. She made her way to the drive way expecting to see her sliver SUV, but instead her husband's red Volvo.
"Are you kidding me? He could of at least asked." She said frustrated.
She rushed back into the house to quickly grab her husband's car keys. When she found them she rushed back outside and made her way over to the car. She unlocked the door and got in. Lauren seached her pockets for her phone to check the time. When she found it, she pulled it out to check the time. 9:30am is what showed up on her home screen page.
"Ugh...I was suppose to be there by nine-o-clock! I still have time I suppose." Lauren exclaimed.
She put her phone away and put the key in to start up the car. She backed out easily, and made sure it was clear before backing out in the street completely. When she was on the street she finally put the car in reverse to head down the rode.
Well this is it. Lauren thought to herself while she drove smoothly down the rode. She could feel her nerves rising by the second as she grew closer to her destination. It was only a matter of time until she arrived there, so she just need to suck up her insecurities before they get the best of her. She wants to show her very best today so she needs to feel confidant.
While lost in her thoughts, she stopped at a red light. Lauren was grateful for that, because when she turn on the corner she would be at the station. It was only til then that the light turned green, signaling for her to go. She gripped her steering wheel a bit tighter than she met to as she pulled off to turned down onto the next street. Just as she made that turn, she saw the building right in sight. She could feel her nervousness creeping back to her the moment she pulls into the drive way.
Lauren finds a parking spot right in front of the building, and turns off the engine. She leans back in the seat and closes her eyes for a few seconds. She felt herself trembling as she tried to calm herself down. Being this nervous reminds her of her first year in college. It might have been a tough four years, but she made it. And now she's here. She reopens her eyes, and leans out the seat. She grabs her files on the seat next to her and exits out the car. She might be scared, but it's always good to take risks once in awhile.
She makes her way up to the entrance way of the station. Each step makes her feel uncertainty, but she's not gonna let that stop her. Only a couple feet away would she be at the door. It's like once she made it to the door, her fears began vanishing.
Here goes nothing. She thinks to herself and enter.
