Lauren

Lauren fundled with her belt while she tried to prepare Lily's and Dave's lunch for their day. While she was putting the sandwiches in the lunch bags she heard Lily call her.

"Mommy I don't have enough syrup on my pancakes!" Lily said as she picked at the pancake on her plate.

"Baby I'm busy, mommy will be there in a minute."

As she was just about to finish off their lunch bags, she accidently spilt her coffee all over the kitchen counter.

"Ugh...not this. Not right not." She said as she quickly grabbed the lunch bags.

Lauren set the lunches on the table, while she went to go clean up the counter. This morning has been hell with her trying to get everyone ready on time. Including herself! Could her morning get any worse? While she was cleaning the counter, Dave came right in grabbing his lunch.

"Thanks for the lunch hun. I would stay for breakfast, but I'm already running late." He said making his way to the door.

"But won't you be hungry? You can at least take some toast with you." She offered with a worried look.

Dave came back and gave her a quick passionate kiss. "Don't worry so much, I'll be okay. I will just grab me something on the way okay?"

Lauren smiled. "Haha alright, you better." She warned.

Dave went over and kissed Lily on the head, before walking out the house. When he left out, for her surprise the shool bus suddenly pulled up outside.

"Alright Lily your bus is here. Get ready and go outside. I'll bring your lunch."

"Yay! I'm going to school!" Lily cheered as she ran out the door. Lauren hurried after her to give her her lunch.

When Lily was on the bus, Lauren waved until the bus was out of sight. She let out a big breathe as she ran her hand through her hair.

"Alright let's do this." She tells herself.

She goes back inside to grab her things, before hitting the rode to work. As she got on the rode, she felt it was best to play some music to ease her nerves. She kept changing song after song, until she ran into "Sweet creature" by Harry Styles.

She hummed quietly to the song. His music always calmed her down when she felt overwhelmed. It wouldn't be long until she got there, so she wanted to make this ride last as long as possible. She really wasn't ready to even show what she already knows yet. She bet that they have tons of skilled officers than herself. Soon as she sees the brick building in a distance she puts on an encouraging smile.

She wasn't gonna let her fears get the best of her. Not today. When she pulled up into the parking lot of the place, she found a spot and parked into it. She got out the car and checked her watch at once. 8:59, it read.

"Perfect timing." She tells herself.

As she makes her way inside, the first person waiting for her at the front desk was no one other than Fred himself.

"Well your on time." He said with a bit of surprise in his voice.

"Oh...I just wanted to be here o-"

"No need to say, being on time is always a good start. Now follow me." He says turning around as he starts walking away.

She hurries up, until she's walking right by his side. As they walked in silence she had the urge to look at him. When she did, he looked as if he hardly ever got any sleep as the head cop. She somehow started to feel sympathetic towards him as she stared at the dark bags under his eyes. Coleman glance back at her as he caught her stare.

"Every thing alright?" He asked with a concern look.

"Oh no, evey thing is fine. Just my nerves getting at me." She put on a fake smile.

Coleman chuckled. "Don't let them get the best of ya. You'll fit in just fine. Well...first we have to test you're skills to see where ya at, but I bet you will do just fine. Ah, where here!"

He stops to a door and opens it. Behind the door, revealed stairs. Lauren just gave him a look.

"It's down stairs?"

"Yep. The way they shoot, it's best trust me," He joked. "Now, after you." He tells her stepping aside.

"Alright." She says walking closer to the door. When she took the first step, she heard a creak.

"Oh, also watch your step. Some of the steps need to be repaired."He tells her at last.

Now you tell me. She thinks to herself. When she starts to walk down the stairs, she tries to hurry down, afraid that she actually might fall. As she took the last step she was met with a big large room. She immediately covered her ears at the sound of shooting guns.

She felt a light tap on her shoulder and turned around to see Coleman handing her some earmuffs.

"This should help." He shouts.

She grabs them and quickly put them on. When she got them on, her ears felt much better than before. She turned back around to see Coleman putting some on as well.

"Alright! Follow me, I'll get you set up!" He shouted.

She couldn't really hear him clearly, but she did read his lips. She nodded as she followed him. The training room was very big; bigger then what she expected it to be. She looked over and watched as she saw different people in single departments shooting at the shot boards. Some missed, others different. Everybody in here seemed to be on a whole different level.

She didn't realize she had stop until Coleman called her. It was faint but she still made it out. She turned around to find him in an empty department. She walked over.

"How about you watch first to see how the others are?" He asked.

"Yeah I would prefer to watch first."

Watching would let her know who's the most skilled people with guns. As she watched everyone she spotted out some beginners, as well as expects. Then suddenly, she spotted James in a department not to far from hers. She watched how every single shot he made was perfect. She watched how he gripped the gun so tight, as if his life depended on it. His gun shots looked kinda deadly as she viewed him. As if he's already taken so many lives.

But maybe that's just her. He must have had a lot of experience before joining here. His gun shots was just so serious. Lauren don't know how long she's been watching him, but as soon as she knew it, he was looking right back at her. She felt embarrassed for staring so long, so she tried to look away, but every time she did she caught him staring right back at her. She saw him give her a smirk before looking away.  That was a friendly smile. She was for sure. Right?
