Chapter 12 || In the mind

James

He looked over at her with the biggest smile ever. She started to laugh lightly.

"What are you doing?"

"Just trying to put smile on your face. No lady should be frowning on a beautiful day like this." He stated.

"You're right about that." She said.

James looked over and stared at her. He couldn't believe his little plan actually worked. They are actually partners.

He saw her starting to get uncomfortable. So he moved his gaze towards the front window.

"Well...I'm kinda hungry. Could we maybe go inside the store for some lunch?" He heard her spoke up.

"Oh your hungry, I'll go get us something-" He got cut off.

"No it's fine I could pay for my own food." She began.

James gently placed his hand on top of hers. "It's fine really...I'll pay. My treat." He gave her hand a little stroke with his thumb.

He saw her looked where his hand was and slowly pulled hers back. "Um...okay."

"Sorry, didn't realize I did that. I'll be right back. If you see anything out of the ordinary let me know." And with that said he got out the car, and head inside the store.

"Shit." He cursed under his breath. Instead of him being a nice guy he made her uncomfortable.  He wasn't trying to come off so strongly back there, but he couldn't hold back the longing for the feel of her soft skin. He just craved one little touch, even if it was just for a second.

Ever since he first saw Lauren, he was attracted to her instantly. It was as if it was love at first sight. Everything about her was perfect. She was the woman for him. The way she walked, the way she wore her hair, the way her lips looked so kissable. But the problem is, she's married. But no matter what that ain't gonna stop him. He just had to have her.

The love he felt for Lauren was growing. He's surprised that he was able to hold back this time. Usually he'd already have his prey, but something about her makes him want to wait just a bit longer. He don't know why, but she just feel so special. Just as he stepped in line he began to order them some subs from the store deli.

All the women's he has ever had never stayed too long with him. He always had to search for that right one. Maybe this could he his chance. His very chance at true love. He knows Lauren has too feel the same deep down...right? And if not, he'll still have her. He sighed. What women has ever loved him? All they ever do is cheat...those damn bitches!

He was so caught up in his thoughts he didn't realize he was squeezing one of the subs.

"Sir, your gonna pay for that right?" A young teen girl behind the delhi counter said.

James looked at her with a cold hard stare, and gave a nod before walking off to pay for them. When he's in his thoughts, lots of times he don't even realize what hes doing. Right now his main focus was about Lauren. Whatever he did he couldn't stop thinking about her. That's what made her so dear to him. And the way she would look him in the eyes and smile warms his heart. Just hearing her very voice makes him happy. He know she feels the same, even if she doesn't show it.

He remembers the time he hugged her for the very first time. The way her frame felt against his, and her breast pressed up to his chest, made him so aroused.  He literally wanted to take her right there but there was just too many people around. He has to stay strong for the both of them. The longer he holds back, the better. Besides, he has his own way of making her his.

Now he would have to get rid of that bitch at home. He dont need her no more anyway since he has Lauren.  Since he's a police man he has had many years of training to know what to do. He could get away with just about anything. When he does his personal jobs, he does it to make sure there isn't no trace.

"That will be fifteen dollars and ninety-two-cents."

The sound of the cashier, brought him back to reality. He reached into his pocket to grab his wallet, and pulled out a twenty dollar bill. He handed it to the guy. When the guy gave him his change back, he grabbed the subs and drinks and headed towards the exit. He hope he didn't leave Lauran too long. Even though he's only been away from her for a few minutes, it still bugged him.

When he made it back to the police car, he got in and smiled. "I got us Italian subs. I hope that's okay?"

"Its fine thank you James. I'll treat you next time." She said with a smile.

He watched her open up her sub and take a bite. The way she ate was just so exhilarating. He saw some mayo dripping on her lip and pulled a napkin immediately.

"Let me." He said reaching over and wiping the corner of her mouth.

He pulled back and watched her pause from the sudden movement.

"You didn't have to do that James." She said a bit sternly.

James quickly apologized. "I'm sorry, you're right. I should respect your personal space."

"I'm not being mean or anything, but yeah I do need my personal space. Thanks for understanding. " She said and took another bite of her sub.

James looked away with a sudden anger. Oh course he didn't show it, but deep in his eyes you could tell. He knows the reason she reacted the way she did. It was because she was married. Boy...he has lots of things to get rid of. And by get rid of "exterminate."
