I sit in my bed, crossing my legs in front of me and just staring at the TV screen. Its as though I'm watching TV, but I'm not paying any attention.
Its been a few hours now since I've gotten off the bus. Lou and I both hurried to the hotel, not sticking to chat to anyone, both of us were exhausted, especially Lou.
"Hey Lou..." I snap out of my little trance and turn to her and she folds some clothes.
"Yeah?" She stops, turning her body to me. "Anything bugging you?"
"Oh. No." I shake my head, even though that's not the case. "Have I changed?" I ask, furrowing my brows.
"Hm..." She moves from her bed, and sits on the edge of mine. "Maybe for the best." She smiles. "Or maybe I know you better now."
"I feel bad for saying this, well I don't actually but, I wish you were my mom." I smile but then shrug, avoiding her eyes.
"I'm sure your mom is a wonderful person, Ryan. Don't say that."
"I'm just worried about her, and worried about going back home..." I pull my knees up and I feel Lou's hand rub my leg.
"What's wrong?" She asks, the same concern in her voice as earlier.
"Hm." I laugh. "What isn't wrong? I think I like Ashton, my mom might be getting back with my dad, I'm a bit stressed and Izack has taken some interest in me." I say in what seems like one breath
"What?" She stops, resaying my sentence. "Ashton?"
"Is that all you managed to maintain?" I shake my head.
"Ryan, watch it." She warns. "You said it really fast and I know that there's some tense air around them."
"Ashton is nice. Izack is a great. My mom is loving and my dad is all except those four things."
"And what does he have to do with those people." She asks, sitting beside me.
"Nothing. He shouldn't have anything to do with those people but he does. And I don't like that."

I slept peacefully throughout the night, but falling asleep was a bit hard.
I contemplated everything, and everyone.
I thought of Ashton, and how he doesn't deserve to have his heart broken by me; even if it would make a good song.
I thought of Izack who gave of the impression of a best friend you've known for years and would protect you in hard times.
I thought of my mom, a middle-age woman who still depends on men for money to live instead of earning it herself.
I tried not to think of my dad, but he kept passing my mind. He was my #1 boy and the only man I thought of for years and with a swing of an arm, that came crumbling down before me.
I sit up in my bed, now almost 9am. Lou is probably gone for breakfast so I can at least go join her this time. I won't be forced to dine alone; not that I mind.
I exchange my PJ shorts for my black skirt and 'phases of the moon' tank op. I slide on my vans and head out the door, grabbing my phone and key card before slamming it behind me.
I hurry down, passing the boys doors slowly. I quiet my pace, trying to see if there's any sound coming from their room. None, they're probably still sleeping.
I make my way to the lounge, where I see the breakfast bar is crazy packed but I see Lou's hair through the crowd. She turns around, smiling at me and holds up a bagel and raises an eyebrow. I nod, giving sign I'd like one.
