Sky walked towards the girl and once she stood I front of her she said kindly, "Hi."
Ash's head immediately popped up at the voice, only to be met with the girl from earlier "O-oh. Um, hello."
"Um my name is Sky, Sky Blackwell. What's yours?", she asked politely.
"Oh, uh, hello there Sky Blackwell. My name is Ash Wolverton. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance today." She spoke softly, avoiding eye contact but smiling softly.
'Acquaintance?', Sky thought to herself. She wondered why this girl was talking like she's an adult. They were all still kids after all.
"Are you nervous about being here?", Sky asked trying to keep a conversation going.
"Undoubtedly I'm nervous. It's so gargantuan in this place, and it's all so new. I don't know if I can cope." Ash spoke again, with less happiness in her voice. Sky seemed confused by something, but she didn't know what. Besides, why wasn't sky talking the same as her? That's what mother said everyone talked like.
'Is this girl speaking English or another language?', Sky thought to herself. Back at home she had never anyone talk like that before. "Well if it's any constellation, I'm nervous too. But I have a feeling you'll do great. I mean you wouldn't have gotten into Beacon of you weren't.", Sky said with a warm smile.
"Yeah, I assume that you're correct. If you don't mind me asking, Sky, why did you ponder to come over here?"
'Ponder? Seriously', Sky thought in her head. Why is she speaking like this? "Well I just thought you could use a friend. It always helps with the first day."
"Yeah, I could, I presume. Again, if you don't mind me asking, you seem confused? Why is that?" Ash said to sky.
"Sorry it's just that... Well...", Sky was trying to find a nice way to put it. She couldn't just blankly say she talks weird without knowing her. Who knows maybe her life at home is different. "It's just that I never heard anyone talk like the way you do."
"Oh." Ash said with a blush "I've noticed you talk different than me, but my mother always told me that's how people talk." She laughed awkwardly.
Sky gave her a warm smile. 'Why would her mother tell her to speak so... Adult?', she thought. Throughout her life Sky has never heard anyone talk like Ash. Not even parents talked like that. Wanting to change the subject Sky asked, "So where are you from?"
"I'm from Atlas," Ash said with a smile, not used to talking like such a... teenager "You?"
"Vale.", Sky replied with a smile back. "Hey if you want I could introduce you to my friend Ray back there.", Sky said as she pointed out the Faunus who was standing by the door.
Ash looked over at the girl confused "But she's a... faunus." She said slowly, to make sure that she knew.
