I knocked on the door and Mrs. Andrews opened it shortly after.

"Hello Tanner"

"hi Mrs. Andrews"

"Come in" she said stepping aside, allowing me to come in "Skylar is at the store with her dad but they should be back soon. Feel free to go upstairs and wait for her"

"Ok, thank you"

"Your welcome" she said smiling then turned on her heel and walked into the kitchen.

I walked up the stairs and into Skylar's room. I sat in the chair at her desk and looked around. Their was so many pictures of me and her hung up on her wall. So many memories of me and her and even some with Nick. Why didn't she ever take any of it down? Why would she still want the memory of how close we used to be, then be reminded about what I did and how I messed up our friendship? All the pictures I had, I was going to throw away but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I loved her-I still do-and I pushed myself away from her, I couldn't throw away all that I had left of her. She kept everything, T-Shirts, pictures, hoodies, gifts, she even kept the teddy bear I got her for her 14th birthday. And I was only 13 at the time. I broke out of my thoughts when I heard a car pull into the driveway. I pulled out my phone and looked at the message my manager sent me

Your flight is booked for tomorrow December 4th at 9:30 am. Don't miss it

I slipped my phone back in my pocket

"Hey Tanner" skylar said as she walked in the door

"Hey baby" I wrapped my arms around her "Is something wrong?"

"No"

"What did you need me to come over for then?"

"I'm ready to tell my dad about us"

"Really? Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I don't like lying to him"

"ok"

We both walked down the stairs and sat on the couch across from the one her parents were sitting on.

"Dad I need to tell you something"

"What is it?"

"Tanner and I are dating and I know you said no but I love him and we wanted to make it official"

He sighed

"Dad please don't be rude to him, he hasn't given you a reason to hate him"

"Why do you even need a boyfriend?"

"He isn't just my boyfriend, he is the one I love. I'm not dating him for the label dad, I'm dating him because I love him"

"I'm sorry that I act this way to your boyfriends, I'm just having a hard time accepting the fact that you are getting older. I don't like the fact that you have a boyfriend because it's just a reminder that you're growing up and you are going to leave me soon. You're not my little girl anymore" I saw his eyes get watery

She stood up and sat by him "I'll always be your little girl" she said giving him a hug

"Tanner?"

"Yes, sir?"

"Take care of my daughter okay?"

"I will"

"If you break her heart, I'll break you"

"Trust me, I won't"

"Alright then, you guys go on back upstairs and I'll go help make dinner"

"ok" I took Sky's hand and we went upstairs
