I sat up in my bed and looked at the time, 12:28 am. I layed back down and stared at my ceiling. I only had blank thoughts in my mind as I stared at the dark ceiling. Benny started to toss and turn beside me, trying to make himself comfortable.

I jumped up when I heard knocking on my window. I felt myself start to shake considering I had no idea who could be at that window. After hearing another knock, I stood up to see someone on the roof, waiting for me to open the window. I could see a bright blue hoodie and blonde hair shine in the moonlight. It was obviously tanner so I opened the window.

"Tanner?" I ask to the mostly dark figure

"Hey" he said crawling inside

"What are you doing here?" I ask, looking back outside for anyone else

"Pack a bag" He states, chucking a duffle bag out of my closet and onto my bed

"Why?" I ask confused

"We are going on an adventure" he smiles and starts opening my drawers and throwing clothes onto my bed

"But what about my parents? You know they don't want me around you. Sneaking out with you for the weekend isn't going to help with anything" I sigh and sit down

"Sometimes you've gotta take a risk. Come on, you're young, live a little" he says, pulling me up. Then he gave me those sad eyes and stared at me.

"Fine" I sigh in defeat

I hurried and got a small bag packed then we crawled out the window and I watched Tanner jump off the roof of our porch. I followed him and he held onto me so I didn't fall while I was getting down. But when he put his hands on my hips to hold me, I felt something that I've never felt before. I got chills up my spine and I felt weak at the knees. It was weird, I don't like him. Do I?

He grabbed my hand and we ran down the driveway to his car. I saw a guy leaning against the car.

"Hey sky" I hear a deep voice say

"Jordan beau is that you?" I say and I ran up and hugged him

"It's been a while" He smiles

"Yeah, no kidding" I smile back

We all got in the car and we drove off. I left a note on my bed and told my parents that I decided to stay over at my friend kalie's house and I messaged her to let her know where I was going and she's got my back. So I shouldn't get caught but I'm still worrying about what will happen if my parents find out.

"By the way, there is more people coming" Jordan  announces from the backseat

"What made everyone decide to go on an adventure at 12:30 in the morning?" I question

"I don't really know, teenagers are pretty stupid sometimes" he laughs

"That's true" I laugh too

"I didn't think Tanner would be able to talk you into coming" he says

"I wasn't going to but I haven't hung out with him for six months so I guess I just changed my mind" I reply

Tanner turned into a gas station parking lot and parked the car. "I'll be right back" he said and got out then ran inside

"Jordan?" I ask

"Yeah?" He replies

"Why'd he leave?" I ask, suddenly feeling sad

"He didn't tell you?" He asked

"No" I say quietly

"You know Cody, your ex?" He asks and I nodded "he told us to stop coming around you and if we said anything to you, he would hurt you"

"What? He said that? Why didn't you tell me?" I ask

"Because he said he would hurt you" he sighed "did he abuse you?"

I shook my head and looked out the window
"I'm so sorry, I didn't know"

"It's not your fault" he said

"I never should have got involved with him" I say "he was such a loser"

"I know someone who would be perfect for you" he smiles

"Who?" I ask curiously

He nodded his head towards the front of the gas station. So turned my attention to the boy standing at the counter

"No" I say sternly

"Yes" he argues

"No Jordan" I sigh

"Yes Skylar" he replies

"No, he doesn't like me like that" I sigh

"Whatever" he sighed then laughed

Tanner came running out to the car then he got in. "Where are we going?" I ask as we drive away

"You'll see" he replies with a smug smile

I say back in my seat while starting to become annoyed that I don't know where we are going.
