Hoseok P.O.V

The man laughed maniacally and waved his knife above his head. I swallowed in fear, my palms cold and clammy. But no matter what, I cannot let my Tae be harmed. I have to protect him. I discreetly reached for my phone and pressed a button that would call for the police. Luckily, he didn't seem to notice.

"I love youngsters like you guys!" The man giggled and stroked the knife blade lovingly. "Young blood is fresher." He added sadistically, laughing again as he tasted the fear in the air.

This man is a lunatic, I thought. I backed away slowly, but the man had surprisingly good night vision. With every step I took, he copied. As my eyes adjusted to the dim light, I noticed that he wore tattered clothes, his hair disheveled. His lips were parted in a grin that never seemed to be faltering and I shuddered.

"Don't harm us." Taehyung pleaded from behind me.

The man laughed once again and shook his head. Suddenly, his expression changed and his smile disappeared.

"What? I shouldn't kill them? I should spare them?" He spoke to the thin air.

I held my breath, hoping that he had a bit of sanity left in him and that he would let us off.

"No you shouldn't. Take them and satisfy yourself." He announced and his evil smile returned. My heart sank, knowing that he will never let us off. He approached us at a much faster pace and I hurriedly walked backwards, not taking my eyes off him. Taehyung was breathing fast, his grip on my shirt tightening and a small whimper escaped from his lips.

Without warning, the maniac charged at us, laughing even louder and held his knife straight in front of him.

No!

My reflexes kicked in and I turned, running as fast as I could together with Tae. Adrenaline surged through my bloodstream, allowing me to run a little faster.

"You will be missed." He cackled, sounding alarmingly close. I turned back just in time to see the shiny blade centimeters from my back and I gave a shout. A million thoughts flashed through my mind. How is Tae going to live if I'm gone? What will it be like to go to heaven?

I felt myself being shoved to the ground and my eyes widened. As I landed on the ground, I turned immediately to look for Tae and the scene I witnessed sickened me. Tae was standing in the place I was seconds before. The man drove his knife into Taehyung's stomach, causing him to cry out in pain and he collapsed to the ground. My tears were already falling like a waterfall as I got onto my feet. My mind was clouded with anger and agony as I raised my fist. After that, I had no recollection of what I did, but I could remember faintly that the mad man was out cold within seconds. I dropped to my knees beside Tae and let out a loud sob.

"Tae! Why are you so silly..." I cried as I cradled him in my arms

"I... can't let you... be harmed." He breathed and squeezed his eyes shut. A tear escaped from the corner of his left eye, but he managed to force a smile. His face was already wet with my tears.

"Pabo.. pabo! Promise me, don't leave me alone. Hang in there, help is on the way." I spluttered. Sirens blared in a distance and I prayed it will be in time to save the boy in my arms.

Taehyung P.O.V

I was slipping away slowly, but everytime Hobi spoke I willed myself to stay a little longer.

Taehyung, come with us and you won't feel the pain anymore, the voices said.

It was so tempting to go with them and put a stop to the excruciating pain I felt at my abdomen. Still, I felt the need to respond to Hoseok.
