"Alright, deary! You are all set to go. Doctor Cullen will take good care of you." The red headed nurse soothes, rubbing Constance's back with her light touch. She sat on the edge of her hospital bed, her old and torn clothing hanging off of her skinny body. Her poor clothes were ruined in the accident, but she didn't have anything else. Beside her sat in a large bag, her possessions that were saved from the car. Some clothing...some little trinkets. And last but not least, five dollars. Great. That would get her a couple of chicken McNuggets. A knock sounded at the door and Constance's head shot up as it slowly opened. There stood Docter Cullen in all of his glory. Instead of his white doctors coat, he wore his casual clothes. And boy did he look good. Really good.
"Are you ready, Miss Williams?" He asks in his honey smooth voice.
"Erm..yes. Thank you." Constance stutters, standing up and taking the clear hospital bag and slinging it around her shoulder. She glances up at him before slipping past him and through the door. He places his cold hand on the small of her back, leading her out of the winding hallways of the hospital and to the parking lot. She could feel his touch through the fabric of her dirty sweater and she blushes, hoping the cool wind would cover the fact that she was indeed blushing. They make it to a black SUV and Doctor Cullen opens the passenger door for her. It was quite a step up, so he took her waist and helped her into the seat. His hands on her waist felt so right. When he shut the door, Constance groans and runs her hands over her face. She had a major crush on this doctor and she knew that it would be quite a problem for her. When he opened the door of the drivers side, she immediately adjusted herself to pose in a natural position, causing him to chuckle as he climbed into the seat and started the engine.
"What?" Constance questions almost accusingly. Carlisle simply shakes his head, the soft smile still on his lips as he chuckled at some unforeseen joke. She shrugged and curled her left leg under her body as she leaned against the frosty window. He pulled out of the lot and onto the road while Constance's heart thumped in her chest. Oh god...was he looking at her? Maybe she should glance over and check-No! No, if he catches her looking then it will be all awkward. She bit her lip and decided to peek at him from under her dark lashes. He was simple staring ahead at the road. A flash of relief and disappointment curled in her stomach and she sighed softly. The car ride was completely silent. Not a word was exchanged between the two until Constance decided to break this damn silence.
"So...Doctor Cullen-" She is cut off by the man.
"Carlisle." He corrects, his dark pink lips pursed as his strong hands grip the wheel.
"Carlisle.." Constance tests on her lips, the name sending shivers down her spine. She watched as a muscle clenched in his jaw when she spoke his name and his knuckles turned even paler.
"Are you sure your wife would be okay with this? After all, I'm sure she had quite the household to maintain." She says, almost trying to press him. Maybe he didn't have a wife. She almost chuckled aloud...he definitely has a wife. He is absolutely perfect in every way.
"Oh, Constance." He chuckles suddenly, using her first name. Boy, could she get used to that. She bit her lip and gripped the seat, waiting for him to continue.
"I don't have a wife. Just my 7 adopted children and I." He states, glancing over at her with a lopsided smile.
"Oh. Okay then." She says softly, turning back to look at the road.
"You sure they won't mind? That is a lot of people." She says.
"Oh I promise that they won't. Alice is very excited to meet you. She is the one you saw today." He informs.
"There is also Jasper. The one with the blonde hair. Then, Emmett and Rosalie." He continues, nodding his head slowly.
"And last but not least, Edward, Bella and Renesmee." He says. "You see, Renesmee is a relative that we adopted. Bella and Edward are her main caregivers." Carlisle adds.
