Chapter 19

It's New Years tonight and I have aboslutely nothing planned!

Niall hasn't called or texted me if we're going to hang out tonight or not. He'll probably call later or come over.

It's very quiet around my house due to my mother's shifts and there's nothing to do. Watching some TV sounds pretty good!

"Dora, no"
"Zoey 101, no"
"Shaun of the Dead? Hell yeah!" I turned the movie on and snuggled against my popcorn and snuggie on the couch.

"No no no, it's not dead! It's not.... AGHHH!" I felt someone's cold hands on my shoulder and my popcorn went flying into the air and behind the couch.

I turned around with my remote in hand to strike the intruder and there wasn't anyone there. I stood up to look behind the couch and sure enough, there was the intruder! Niall.

"What the hell, Niall?! You scared the popcorn out of my hands!" I scolded him while he shook the popcorn out of his hair and off his shirt. He chuckled a little before answering.

"I just wanted to surprise you. And apparently it worked!" His arms went around my waist snuggly and he closed the space between our abdomens. My feet went to the top of my toes and I pecked little kisses all around his face before stopping and realizing I forgot one place. Our lips connected in a simple but meaningful kiss.

The doorbell rang, startling the both of us and making us groan. I walked to the foyer of our house and just now noticed that it was freezing in here. I opened the door with my arms covering my chest and the sudden contact of cold air hitting my bare arms didn't help.

"Mom! You're back early again." I sighed, excited but annoyed that she ended Niall and I kissing once again.

"Disappointed?" She asked and raised an eyebrow. I shook my head no with a fake smile on my face. I looked behind her and noticed unfamiliar faces. She noticed my concern and answered.

"These are some of my friends from work! They're going to watch the ball drop with us, is that fine with you?"

"No, not at all!" I smiled, once again, and opened the door wider for everyone to come in, more cold air entered the house along with them.

Once everybody was inside, I closed the door and walked back to Niall. He smiled with one dimple appearing on his cheek. God how I love him. He pecked me on the cheek and we went upstairs.

I opened my room and immediately went to my bed, leaving Niall to shut the door. "Eager, are we?" He cheekily questioned and sat at the end of my bed.

My body went underneath the covers leaving only my neck and head exposed. "No, you dummy head! I'm freaking freezing!"

He nodded in embarresment and scooted farther from me. Once I heated up I moved from the bed and looked out the window. The snow was delicately falling onto the ground and trees while the sky was dim. I've always loved the winter time. It's the only time when you can have a snowball fight or make snowmen.

"Wanna go outside? I've gotta New Years surprise for you in the backyard!" Niall zipped me from my thoughts and I looked back at him and agreed with him. He left me to change while he went downstairs to collect his own snow gear.

I put on a two layers of shirts and pants, a pair of snowboots, and my oversized winter coat. I grabbed my light pink mittens and matching hat before I waddled my way out.

Niall was dressed and ready, waiting for me at the back door. "Ah ah ah! Cover your eyes. And no peaking!" He covered my eyes, even though he told me to cover my own, and turned me around.
