Why Do I Even Have An Opinion, I Don't Even Read

Why are characters in fanfictions always on the same page sexually? They were talking about it on the radio station, how sex should be integrated and compensated in a relationship and stuff, and it struck me how unrealistic fics are. Not the first time or the last time I'll ever think that and I don't even read smut I just lowkey skim it if it shows up in a plain ol' fluffy fanfic. Aye anyways this is really going anywhere I just need more variety. Relationships are always either as kinky as possible [akap] or occasionally they're asexual relationships [yay visibility!]. Where are the lengthy conversations about boundaries and compensation and "you want this, I do not want this, but you know how about we do this?", and visibility for people who have differing romantic and sexual preferences and poly relationships where one or two or all members are ace and they divvy up that aspect of the relationship and they all love each other differently? Basically I wish writers would recognise love is a difficult and complex and so very varied emotion and isn't always angsty when it's not agreed on, and negotiation happens!!
