Chapter fourty-Seven: coming home **BPOV**

"Bella, remember, you haven't just seen Renesmee. You've been seeing your mum." Alice spoke, breaking me out of my thoughts as we got closer to Forks. "Sorry?" I asked, clarifying what she was saying. "You're too happy. Think how you would if you left your mum's, and didn't know when you would see her again." "So slightly happier then I was when I left." I told her. "Got it. I can do that."

We still were driving when Chloe began getting restless. Reaching behind me, I got her out of her car seat, holding the upset child. "Who's going to be home when we arrive?" I asked. "I don't really want to go back into hiding." I explained. "Carlisle and Jasper are the only ones hunting." She simply stated, looking forward. Nodding to myself, i looked down at my grand-daughter now back asleep.

We hit the edge of Forks quickly, as we were speeding. I was glad my dad was the cop, there's no way he would ticket any of us Cullen's. We soon started driving down the familiar driveway, and I saw that there was a brown blob racing us towards the house. "Alice, slow down." I asked softly, in character yet again. "Jake's behind us." She did so, and I watched him fly passed. We continued at the same pace until we arrived at the house, and i saw Edward standing on the steps.

"Bella." He smiled as i got out of the car with Chloe. Kissing my hairline, we walked into the house together. "How was your mum?" "Yeah, she's good. She fell in love with Chloe." I lied, smiling soft. "It was good to see her again. But what about here? Did you find out who was here?" i asked, knowing i shouldn't know much.

"Why don't you go put her down and we can go hunt. I'll explain then." He informed me. I smiled softly, before following his instructions. Esme was also up here, cradling J.J. She simply smiled at me, and i saw why. J.J was trying to fall asleep. "Hasn't slept well?" i asked, looking at the young boy. She shook her head. I placed Chloe in their shared cot, before asking silently to hold the boy. Esme handed him over, and I began holding him the same way I held Renesmee, and now Chloe. As he was half asleep anyway, it was easy for him to fall completely under, and i quickly placed him down next to his sister.

Esme and I left the small room, before she touched my shoulder. "Bella, how's Renee?" she asked me. "Better. She's aged a lot since I last saw her. Phil changed her a lot." I lied, hoping what I said would be correct. She smiled softly, before i left her. I wanted to find out what Edward wanted to tell me, so i know what to tell my daughter when she left. For what she should expect.

I walked back downstairs to see Edward sitting in the front room. He didn't move when I entered, so I joined him on the couch. "Who was here?" I asked him, softly. "We're unsure. Nothing was touched besides a single bed upstairs. Jasper couldn't find anything outside so we had to assume that they didn't run in." He explained. "Jake said they had Alice's and my scent." I asked, and i watched him nod once. His face was smooth, with no expression. "You're not telling me something." I pushed. I knew he would have known that Renesmee's scent was her as well. "They also carried Renesmee's scent with them. I believe that whoever they were, they were the people who burnt down the Voltori." "What would they want with me or Alice?" i asked softly. "They might have known about her. Known where she belongs and wanted to return her."

"Where was everyone when this happened?" i asked, defensively. "What if our daughter came home to an empty house?" "We were all hunting. We all needed a break as well as you did." "so you left the house empty. Nobody here with J.J?" "Bella." He soothed, but I stood. I had to channel that feeling of Jacob imprinting. That anger. Pure rage. "No Edward!" i barked. "You don't ever leave a poor infant alone. How could you have done that! What if something happened here as well? What if-"

"Bella, we let Emily look after him." He spoke softly, and I froze. "I, along with Jacob, ran him down to Sam's place for her to look after while we were gone. He was perfectly safe." I still didn't sit down, pretending I was still upset. "Like you said, we needed a break from everything Renesmee."
